Priests blessed enlisted men who came under Russian President Vladimir Putin’s mobilisation order on September 21, 2022 to fight the war in Ukraine. Meanwhile, an estimated 200,000 Russians have attempted to flee the country to avoid being sent to fight. The most popular border crossings are over Georgia and Kazakhstan, where visas are not required for them.

There's a similar scene from Bor. Pasternak's "Doctor Zhivago": A priest blessing the russ. troops leaving for the front in 1914. The writer stresses that, each one conscripted for his own reasons; for the motherland, for spionage, but also because it was an optimal opportunity to wear (shoes) leather boots for the 1st time in their life.
i feel so sorry for these poor russians. those signs that they’re holding up on the georgian border… if these people are fleeing russia then obviously they agree with your opinion of the war. why are you telling them they are not welcome in your country?
Very sad to see how the Russian people and I treat other countries, I don't see why this difference with the Ukrainians, the Russian people should be respected as a whole.
Unfortunately that's not always the case. Many people will support the invasion from their couches, but when it's their turn to "protect the motherland and their own", suddenly there's excuses or even slight changes of hearts. My relative told me about how an acquaintance, very supportive of the invasion, suddenly got all mad and defensive when asked what she would think if her son got drafted :/
It’s because most of those men are only anti draft and NOT antiwar. They stay in their comfy homes while other countries are invaded from their own, as soon as theyre called up to join the imperialistic goals. They run and flee.

These Russians men are clearly going to be used as cannon fodder. There can't be any positive outcome from it for Russia, if these people do not want to go into a war. There is no sense.

They are afraid that russia will claim they are coming to protect the russians that live in Georgia like they do with russians in Ukraine - it give russia an excuse to enter the country
Russians citizens should to do something to stop the war

Talk about real independent foreign policy...
As someone who admired Russia before and actually thought that they were in the right (for opposing the hegemonic west), I feel for Kazakhstan as they, too, thought that Russian position is correct, however, as the terror of the war in Ukraine unfolds, we slowly realized that Putin is just an aggressive expansionist tyrant who doesn't care about the lives of the common people, Russian or not... He's just using the emotion of nationalistic and patriotic Russian people and fooling them into thinking that this is a war "to defend the motherland", when in reality its just a war of aggression and expansion... However, this doesn't mean I support the west now... Afterall, its their hegemonic nature that turned Russia and the (nationalistic) Russian people to what they are now... Yes, this war is solely Russia's fault and wrongdoing, however, that doesn't mean the west is innocent, since its their miscalculations and hegemonic nature, and also their "adding fuel to the fire", that worsened the war situation in Ukraine...

I believed that safety and security is the job of the government in every country.. But if the government was the one putting your life to harm and death that is something else. I hope people of Russia must realized that.
Impressive that the russians invaded Georgia and now are leaving in droves to that same country. How are Georgians responding?
If the people of the nation don't want want something and they can't stand up for protest ofcourse they'll leave the nation.
They care for peaceful world. They care for their children's future.
You know those men are never coming back 🥺😭 they’ll be lucky if their families even get their bodies. Many never will.
the more I see this news, it made me convinced even more that Putin doesn't know how to take an L
So sad. Consequences of war.
The priest blessed them and said "see you later."
BTW the draft in Russia only includes men where women can draft themselves optionally.
In the USA men and women both can be drafted simultaneously !!!
Putin: Blyat! Its a joke come back... blyat...
Hoping they are all be safe and have an easy entry...
0:50 Say that loud and clear, sir. He is right 100%. 👍
I applaud their bravery💕 in standing up against these senseless wars.✨ Breaks💔 my heart there is still evil in this world, especially in governments. That care only about their benefit and not for all. I pray and wish that this war ends. So all the heartless monsters disappear out of here.🙏✨ So mote it be, so shall it be, for all eternity.
Why would I fight for an old man's ambition to stay in power?
Just look..how far a madness can go
These are concience people who still have faith.
Imagine blessing fathers, brothers and sons to go die in a mad man's war
You can live the wealthiest life and country but when war break out, you're just flesh and blood. Love and support other countries that's in need of help and one day they will return the favor to you
I hope the war stops soon🙏🙏
it is no war if brother kills brother for no reason but greed
“We will be waiting for you boys … _cough_ in caskets _cough_ “. What a pointless war.
All i can say is WOW...
PEACE, PEACE, PEACE, stop wars now and for the future times
So scary for little kids traveling that far I hope they will be well accommodated by their neighboring countries. Where is the conscience their compassion and concern of their government🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏💛💚🧡💙💛💚🕊️🕊️🕊️🕊️🕊️🕊️🤔😒😔😢😭😭
