Wow, this is the first 616 Spiderman run I’ve fully 100% followed through UA-cam. Now I can say for sure that it’s mostly forgettable/mid except for the spider that gobs 1 and… you-know-what
since he is technically symbiote based, i kind of think rek-rap might be able to be slightly better in venom war or at the very least would be a reasonable way to kill off the character or swoop him off into the void
Cant wait for the 8 deaths of spiderman Joel cause maybe after duking it out with Cytorak and maybe realizing Doom Machinations will spidey final have a realization alongside Marvel Editorial
What a wimper to end a run on. Also, bro, what are they doing to Ben man.... Who cares about Rek-Rap sticking around, he's like Miles' clone brother Shift except nothing really to like about him. MJ still stuck with Paul the guy no one will ever care about and we have Zeb to thank for breaking them up. I wonder if he'll eventually be written out with any care. Hopefully the doom stuff is at least fun before we get the next true writer for the book. Boy i miss Dan Slott and Nick Spencer's runs more and more.
Waiting for the Inside Out crossover with Spiderman going into Ben mind with Dr. Doom to fix and give him new core memory meet all the twisted version of peter emotions LOL.
They need to do with Spider man like they did with the X-men before Krakoa. I mean they were trying but the stories didn’t get the fans moving until Hickman came in and changed the game. Superior and when Peter had his own company were pretty good and I can’t forget Spencer’s run was good in my opinion However Joel we both know that Spidey needs something like a Hickman revamp.
The funny part is Spider-Man totally is getting a much needed Hickman style overhaul.....just in the ultimate universe. If only they could do it in the main 616 universe.
Zeb’s run is finally over, and I’m so mad that literally nothing got resolved at all with ben, hopefully after the 8 deaths of Spider-Man story is done, these new writers will find a way to fix Ben, seriously zeb wells goodbye and good riddance
You see what they are doing right? MCU Spider-Man is so tied to Robert Downey, Jr. Now that he's going to be Doom, they are going to tie Spider-man in the comics to Doom.
Spider-Man is my all time favorite superhero, but even I could not finish this awful run. Now will someone please reveal that Paul is "secretly" a supervillain!
Quality ain’t improving until sales dip and if the last 3 years of the most hated Spidey run only managed to make a Top 5 book a Top 10, I think at best you can hope for is the next writer not being actively antagonistic. Let alone hoping the book will be good Hope Zeb is able to salvage some credibility post this run, Hellions tells us he has plenty of chops, shame that ASM had his name dragged through the mud. I’m sure the next person after Kelly is looking forward to the same experience
I still think they’re gonna see Paul up to be a villain or anti hero in the future cuz a few issues ago he met the 616 version of his coworker that his father killed in his home universe and swore to help cure him of the same disease that this version is also dying from witch begs the question where is Paul gonna get all that money for his treatments when him and mj are living in a small New York apartment and according to the issue where Peter brings mj and Paul back to the main universe there is no 616 Paul meaning he can’t legally get a job and is he gonna use the jackpot tech he invented to try and cure this guy of his disease
When Aunt may was arguing with Peter my only thought was JUST TELL HER ALREADY!!!! Is there really any reason for her to be kept in the the dark at this point other than drama. I feel that Aunt May not knowing limits her potential as a character and her relevance to the story. Hell, she was only only in zeb wells run for a few issues and barely mentioned in others.
While I was reading this comic It's like Mystery Science Theater meme END! END! END! it's so pointless so dumb This is the moment my sane mind broke this comic broke me
Talk shit about Slott's run it was entirely too long but at least it tried to be entertaining and had some interesting concepts.this was boring at best and infuriating
The only good things out of Slott's run was Spider-Verse and Superior Spider-man, however, the former is milked dry by Marvel right now with the upcoming "Spider-Verse vs Venom-verse"!!!
@mttylerdurden9 ah yes, those too. However, I find "Ends of the Earth" to be stupid and just overall contrived as somehow Doc Ock manages to BEAT the Avengers and also outsmart Reed and Tony, 2 of the smartest men on Earth!
You know I thought it over and while I was no fan of the Tom King Batman run. Looking back that series at least had 1 or 2 stories I liked/could recommend (the swamp thing one shot & the double date storyline). This Spider-Man run I don't think I'd recommended anything from it.
And it's FINALLY OVER! At last we are free of this complete s***show that is Wells's ASM, where everybody was acting out of character and Spidey himself is just a guest star and a miserable loser in his own book! Hopefully Joe Kelly and Justina Ireland can do a much better job than Wells did, but that's NOT a high bar or saying much! 😅
You know what would be a better idea to do with Ben than this whole Chasm nonsense? Send him to Portland. Like how they originally planned on retiring peter, but instead he will be the west coast Spider-Man. New supporting characters, new villains... Actually, it would be funny if the first villain he faces is shocker, who screams "ARE YOU KIDDING ME?! I left new York to get away from you!" Could even have an interesting dynamic of everyone loves him (adds to the whole keep Portland weird stuff) only for there to be a misunderstanding or something, and then they flip on him.
Did you hear that Zeb Wells is teaming up with Rick remenders imprint GIANT GENERATOR? No doubt his book with them will be way better than Spider-Man( seeing as how he doesn't have editorial breathing down his neck) let's hope this Spider-Man run doesn't taint everything he does in the future (though knowing Spider-Man fans, they'll probably hound him until the day he dies.)
@mttylerdurden9 No I hadn't actually. Good them a nice little indie book seems to be just what the doctor ordered. Glad he's not leaving writing entirely like Nick Spencer did after spider man
After Krazinsky and Slot I don´t think I´ve enjoyed anything really...especially the whole Peter/MJ break-up and the whole Paul situation. Just really lost interest in everything spider-man. Venom is being much more interesting...and also Ultimate Spider-man, where he´s actually allowed to grow as character.
I hate this book and frankly this entire issue didn’t resolve anything and just had zeb wells said I am going to leave everything broken and wash my hands of this garbage to let another writer clean up the mess which is just sad and pathetic in my opinion for the next writer to fix his mess that he broke.
@@MatthewLoh-ru1mw true and honestly I don’t see Joe and Justina cleaning up anything after 8 deaths or Spider-Man and we are still suck with awful Paul that nobody likes myself included, and to make it worse we are still stuck with awful Mary Jane as jackpot and instead of say I don’t know let Peter Parker and Mary Jane remember everything and have there daughter mayday Parker spider girl fight Mephisto and destroy him that was set up in nick Spencer run which sounded ten times better then any thing wells gave us at least in my opinion.
@TevyaSmolka unfortunately, that's not going to happen for the foreseeable future😔😒. Marvel wants to make sure Peter/Spidey never, ever get married to MJ!
@@MatthewLoh-ru1mw yeah that’s true man this sucks, because you know what’s even sadder is that other media like Spider-Man pa5 games and Spiderverse movies allowed Peter Parker to grow up and move forward and allow him to get married and have his daughter mayday Parker spider girl exist in other media, while the comics on the hand refuses to do that because marvel out of touch logic believes peter Parker works better being single forever. Which is not only pathetic but completely sad and just feel like a big slap In the face to a lot of Spider-Man fans myself included who want there character to grow up and develop as a character like every other media does for this character except for the comics.
@TevyaSmolka well said!! Yes, Marvel is completely out of touch with their fans and readers, especially with this stupid belief that Peter must stay single and a broke, miserable loser

I know editorial meddled as well. Hard truth is Amazing Spider-man is husk, a shell of its former self. The best Spider-man stories for some time now have been elseworld stories.
@assassinsknight No one who wrote that Hellions book could be a hack. Like I said, I think this book is an example of everything that could go wrong all going wrong at once. And we probably won't know the whole story until years form now when someone does a tell podcast.
@@CapedJoelExactly. This whole run was meddling from those stupid guys in Editorial, wanting Spider-man to be a perpetual loser in both personal and superhero life
@@CapedJoelNo this doesn’t track with the usual editor meddling I’ve seen with Spider-man writers since 2008. He didn’t write one good story. To call him a competent writer in 2024 after reading this from start to finish is a bold faced lie.

@sepp4815 Oh, for sure. Her concept of being a woman who works rehabing the same villaisn spider-man put away is great. It's a shame she didn't enter the book sooner and we saw that idea explored more.
Since I don't read comics anymore and rely solely on recaps. Am I missing something here? All the Tomb Raider stuff amounted to nothing? As much as I hate the Joker at least his arcs always end up with him supposedly "dying." Tomb Stone just walking away is ridiculous. At least pretend like he's going to be in jail for more than a day. So how does any criminal be prosecuted if the Hero isn't there to testify? And when you think about it how can a masked person be a Witness anyway?
This has been the worst Spider-Man run in comic book history. I would rather read the Clone Saga all the way through 10 consecutive times than read any of Zeb Wells atrocious comics.
When I was first started reading ASM from the beginning, I was dreading getting up to The Infamous Clone Saga, but I was surprised by how many parts of it I enjoyed (especially Ben Reilly). I think the biggest problem of the Clone Saga was that it just kept going and going and flip flopping between which ones the real clone. At the end of the day I can't say Clone Saga was good, but probably overall more good and interesting parts to it than this most recent which just screwed up so much (especially Ben Reilly).
So after all the drama with Mary Jane, Norman Osborn, and Ben Reilly the whole thing wraps up with... a conversation with Aunt May. A character who pretty much only ever appeared at the start of the run. Oh I get it, bookending and all but. Just really seems like she came the hell out of nowhere and provides absolutely no insights to any of what has happened. Also the conversation with her is definitely not the best, her dialogue sounds like 60's or 70's super-frail, hates Spider-Man Aunt May not the tougher, maybe knows/maybe doesn't know Peter is Spider-Man Aunt May that we've had for the last few decades.
@Phantom9252 Yeah it feel like Wells had wrote this scene between Peter and May forever ago. And decided to put it right at the end as not to lose it forever.
Everybody, we have to be united and resolute about not buying this story in TP... if nobody supports this Drek & Schlak, marvel will know that they have to turn over the Apple cart in the Spider-Man offices and the only way to send a message to Marvel is to hit them in the wallet by not purchasing any of this material

Hope you'll have a good day, happy halloween
You too
Ok so now that it’s all said and done, what was worse Tom king Batman or Zeb Wells Spider-Man
@IMMORTALMANGAFAN131 Oh wow, that's a tough one. Hell Tom King's Batman had at least 1 or 2 stand-alone stories. I liked the swamp thing one or the double date one.
Yeah, I guess this is worse when I think about it.
We can finally REST
I can't help but fee like not ditching Paul felt like an act of spite. They know no one likes him but they keep him around.
Correct. It is Wells's own self-insert and a middle finger from Editorial🙄
@@MatthewLoh-ru1mw I actually don't think he's a self-insert. A self-insert would have a much bigger role in the story. But Paul is hardly in this run and does little to nothing throughout.
@@MatthewLoh-ru1mw definitely not a self insert. If it was, there'd be more to his character.
@mttylerdurden9 then WHERE is said character?
@Bruinsbigestbear what I meant was Paul looks like Wells himself!
Happy Halloween!!!!
Wow, this is the first 616 Spiderman run I’ve fully 100% followed through UA-cam. Now I can say for sure that it’s mostly forgettable/mid except for the spider that gobs 1 and… you-know-what
OMFG IT'S FINALLY OVER. WE'RE FREE.
Too bad the next run is a prelude and tie-in to the next Big Marvel Event, ONE World under DOOM!
IT’S FINALLY OVER!!!!!!!!
The galaxy is at peace…….for now.
Nah, the next Big event starts early! (One world under Doom!)
since he is technically symbiote based, i kind of think rek-rap might be able to be slightly better in venom war or at the very least would be a reasonable way to kill off the character or swoop him off into the void
No, you have the higher ups to thank for MJ and Peter breaking up.
Waiting for the Inside Out crossover with Spiderman going into Ben mind with Dr. Doom to fix and give him new core memory meet all the twisted version of peter emotions LOL.
Maybe if we're lucky we will get a future scene where Doom vaporizes Rek-Rap while he tries to save Spider-Man from Doom.
Zeb isn't the problem. The higher ups are making these idiotic decisions.
Zeb wells is a great writer I love his hellions stuff I love avenging spider man that he did with joe mad. But the ASM run is not his best
@@ginofrancejr555 That is very fair
@CapedJoel he will bounce back not like slott and spencer
@@ginofrancejr555 I think he's got an indie book at another new company coming out if I recall
@@CapedJoel nice
You see what they are doing right? MCU Spider-Man is so tied to Robert Downey, Jr. Now that he's going to be Doom, they are going to tie Spider-man in the comics to Doom.
I was hoping the pet story was the return of Peter's pet gorg from nick Spencer, but that requires people to care.
Spider-Man is my all time favorite superhero, but even I could not finish this awful run. Now will someone please reveal that Paul is "secretly" a supervillain!
Marvel: NO, we don't think we will!
Marvel: NO, we don't think we will!
Quality ain’t improving until sales dip and if the last 3 years of the most hated Spidey run only managed to make a Top 5 book a Top 10, I think at best you can hope for is the next writer not being actively antagonistic. Let alone hoping the book will be good
Hope Zeb is able to salvage some credibility post this run, Hellions tells us he has plenty of chops, shame that ASM had his name dragged through the mud. I’m sure the next person after Kelly is looking forward to the same experience
I prefer Joe Kelly to Wells and in my opinion he has a better understanding of Peter Parker Spider-Man
I still think they’re gonna see Paul up to be a villain or anti hero in the future cuz a few issues ago he met the 616 version of his coworker that his father killed in his home universe and swore to help cure him of the same disease that this version is also dying from witch begs the question where is Paul gonna get all that money for his treatments when him and mj are living in a small New York apartment and according to the issue where Peter brings mj and Paul back to the main universe there is no 616 Paul meaning he can’t legally get a job and is he gonna use the jackpot tech he invented to try and cure this guy of his disease
END! END! it's so pointless so dumb This is the moment my sane mind broke this comic broke me
character's cooked.
I stopped caring about zeb Wells writing or poor choices by editors since at this point I'll pick up a book and read.
Finally its over finally finally FINALLY
Happy Halloween joel
I only clicked on the vid because it was the end of the run. Five mins in and i remembered why i dropped Spider-Man.
My bad. Two mins
@@MatthewLoh-ru1mwyou forgot spider Island, ends of the earth, no one dies, and the whole horizon Labs arc.
@mttylerdurden9 ah yes, those too. However, I find "Ends of the Earth" to be stupid and just overall contrived as somehow Doc Ock manages to BEAT the Avengers and also outsmart Reed and Tony, 2 of the smartest men on Earth!
So what was the point besides breaking up mj and Peter.
It's fair to say that this is Spider-Man's Tom King's Batman and yeah. . . that's a thing I said lol
You are forgetting Spectacular Spider-MEN!
I hate this book and frankly this entire issue didn’t resolve anything and just had zeb wells said I am going to leave everything broken and wash my hands of this garbage to let another writer clean up the mess which is just sad and pathetic in my opinion for the next writer to fix his mess that he broke.
Joe and Justina have an awful job to clean up😅
@@MatthewLoh-ru1mw true and honestly I don’t see Joe and Justina cleaning up anything after 8 deaths or Spider-Man and we are still suck with awful Paul that nobody likes myself included, and to make it worse we are still stuck with awful Mary Jane as jackpot and instead of say I don’t know let Peter Parker and Mary Jane remember everything and have there daughter mayday Parker spider girl fight Mephisto and destroy him that was set up in nick Spencer run which sounded ten times better then any thing wells gave us at least in my opinion.
Wait a second. Since when does aunt May not know that Peter is Spider-Man?
Since OMD retcon!!!
I thought aunt mary knows that he is spiderman, or did that get recon ?
@@Editstation45 It’s an effect of One More Day.
@Dhampir101980 but didn't he tell her after that?
@ no. She hasn’t known he’s spider-man since one more day
......the last page should've be a neuralizer flash and a time rewind......or Loki's hand letting go of this timelines' vine saying ewww brother what is that..........
Alas, none of that happens😅
Your right, this issue was completely bland
Sorry I was thinking of better Spider-man stories. This arc deserves to be forgotten. Zeb Wells is a hack writer, I hate every single thing he did from Beyond to this.
And they are?
@@CapedJoelExactly. This whole run was meddling from those stupid guys in Editorial, wanting Spider-man to be a perpetual loser in both personal and superhero life
@@CapedJoelNo this doesn’t track with the usual editor meddling I’ve seen with Spider-man writers since 2008. He didn’t write one good story. To call him a competent writer in 2024 after reading this from start to finish is a bold faced lie.
@@MatthewLoh-ru1mwSpider-man Life Story, Spider-man Spider’s shadow, The current Ultimate Spider-man run, Symbiote Spider-man. Spider-man Black Suit and blood, Chip Zdazsky Spectacular Spider-man, Spectacular Spider-men. Miles Morales Spider-man. Everything literally everything that’s not Amazing Spider-man is better written than this.
would say Shay is interesting but we that sehe won´t be in the next run
@sepp4815 Oh, for sure. Her concept of being a woman who works rehabing the same villaisn spider-man put away is great. It's a shame she didn't enter the book sooner and we saw that idea explored more.
@@CapedJoel true, i hope she kinda returns after the next run as a possible new surporting cast who is non existing in the comic ?
@sepp4815 Yeah it couldn't hurt. Hell Aunt May was barley in this run when I stop and think about it

Nope. Just stick with USM and Miles Morales or Spectacular Spider-MEN!
Yeah I have no interest in 8 deaths I’m done with amazing Spider-Man it’s just never gonna get better
Just stick with USM and Miles Morales or Spectacular Spider-MEN!
@ aw I dropped spectacular it’s boring
Or how about, say, OMD??
@ Oh hell no. Throw that piece of shit story in the fire.
@@illuminatihuman6983 I see. I haven’t read the Clone Saga yet, I read The Night Gwen Stacy Died earlier this year and had a great time with it too.
I LOVE Spiderman, but, don't like Romita Jr's art-work at all.The McGuinness stuff was nice tho, but,I've seen him do much better work than this.
Seeing Peter and Mary Jane in this Comic make me more angry to stupid Marvel Comics. DAMN YOU MARVEL COMIC
Can aunt may just die and him move on from mary jane like i want some actual growth or him that is perment
