Thanks for speaking up about stolen artwork in the cross stitch world. I agree it can be hard to work through the feelings about continuing with a project after you learn that kind of stuff. I agree with keeping projects that weren't legally licensed off socials.
FYI I don't know if you know this but Weeks Dye Works has a bit of a yucky history of a situation they did not handle well. A few years ago a Black stitcher asked them why they had a color called Confederate Gray and that as a Black stitcher it did not make her feel good to have the confederacy envoked with stitching supplies. Well they didn't respond to her so other members of the community starting asking and calling for a change to be made. After weeks of pressure they did change the name to Gray without any statement of any kind or response to any stitchers. But they continued to use the floss tags they had for a long time and didn't make it known to designers to change the name when they call for it and it was still Confederate Gray on order forms for shops even just last week at my lns they have a little note where Confederate Gray should be and it states that Confederate Gray is now Gray which leads me to believe people are still actively looking for the old name. A bunch of stitchers have decided not to buy any more from them due to this lack of accountability on the company's part. Just thought I would share I like to make sure people have the information in case it might make a difference for them about where they spend their cross stitch money!
I look forward to seeing all your fun new starts!
