- A short documentary showing how thousands of Jewish refugees were saved through Japanese transit visas and gained their freedom with the help of JTB.
Fun fact: After this happened, the German Foreign Ministry protested against Japan, but Hideki Tojo brushed off the protests, saying "This was done out of natural humanitarian considerations.''
Which was ironic, given the genocidal behavior of Japan in China (which Sugihara also objected to).
If I recall correctly; Poland & Japan had a very good friendship and believe it or not when Poland declared war on Japan (due to allied pressure) simply deny the declaration cause even Tojo knew that Poland was forced into doing it
Also Japan had no antisemitic agenda during the war. In turn, Nazi Germany was also not officially at war with China.
Quite correct
@@Atombenderwas Japan a zionist puppet too or not?
I am moved to tears over this remarkable Japanese man, who in a world that had gone completely crazy, knew so well in his heart to without any hesitation do whatever he could to save as many people as he could. Thank you so much for what you did, Chiune Sugihara!
Japanese and other East Asians know how smart Jewish people are and they all like them. Japan also remember that Japan got financial help from Jews for the Russo Japanese war. Japanese did not forget the favor.
Was imperial japan a zionist puppet too or independent from them?
@@user-td2jw9ze2c Japan is uniquely independent with relations to Arabs, Jews, Palestinians, Persians, and all the middle easterners and Southeast Asians. Japan is friend to Saudi Arabia, Iran , India, Pakistan, Israel , Palestine, Turkey the USA, all at the same time while they are warring among themselves. Yes Japanese love Jews but Japanese also love Arabs and Iranians, Indians and Pakistanis and Paletinians, Turks, etc. as well, like a mother who loves all her children although they fight among themselves. She only wishes that they all get along. Please remember the effect that Japan had to free all the Asian and Middle East countries from European powers after the WWII. Japan showed the world that non-white people can fight and win against white, European powers.
@@JM-cn1kz the question, was japan a rothschild puppet?
There is also a diplomat from El Salvador 🇸🇻 who saved around 50 thousand Jews by providing identity documents (fake ) and that helped entire families to entered El Salvador as citizens. He was a wonderful person too who get very little recognition:(
what's his name?
What's his name?
¿Quién es ese?
@@ianiello José Arturo Castellanos
The current president of El Salvador is Palestinian. I wonder how the Jewish community is faring.
Beautiful. I hope if I encounter a situation like this I have the bravery of Sugihara. Unfortunately living in the United States I'm not as certain as I was a decade ago that times such as he saw won't one day come again :/
Most Americans are happily running towards this. I have seen Democrats saying we need to get rid of Republicans and Republicans saying we need to get rid of Democrats. It is dangerous times
East Asians never persecuted Jews. You'll be safe there.
This is why the Japanese still maintain their honour despite all the horrors they have caused. He risked his position, his family, and his own life, just to protect the will of moral law. There are no mere words to describe such a man who had so much power yet used it only against himself.
Beautiful heart this man had!
Thanks for making this video. It’s good to see people going out of their way to help people in need.
Well nice job.
Israelites and Japanese peoples have something common.
Terron what is important here is a japanese Diplomate stepped in and risked his career to save.
@dinosaur junior dude.. I'm sorry, but how exactly is the history of Jesus relates to this video?
Chinue Sugihara defied my perspective.
"I may have to disobey the government, but if I don't, I would be disobeying GOD"
Don't forget Kiichiro Higuchi as well.
@今村恵理 Major General Kiichiro Higuchi was the chief of the special branch of Harbin (the administrative centre of the most Northern province of China, in Manchuria), occupied by the Japanese, and saved about 2,000 Jews from freezing to death, nourishing them and giving the exit visas.
I know I'm a year late but just in case
Sugihara, wow an amazing person following the Code of Bushido and defying the Code of Bushido
Jan Zwartendijk, Dutch consul in Kaunas, gave the refugees a visa for Curaçao a part of the Netherlands, Chiune Sugihara gave the refugees a transport visa for Japan. They worked together., see Wikipedia.
Hero
God sends angels from the most unexpected places.
Those who did not help the israelite simply did not know it is written in GOD's word Psalm 122 vs 6 Pray for the peace of Jerusalem! “May they be secure who love you!
yes ITS a bless to all the nation via Israel
God welcomes mr.chiune sugihara in his kingdom
I believe god welcomes all good people regardless of faith.
Does anybody know what happened to the jews trapped in Shanghai afterwards?
They stayed in Shanghai til after the fall of the axis Powers the nazis tried to take the Japanese to hand Shanghais jews over multiple times but they said no since most asians especially Japanese did not understand anti semitism and why the germans hated them so much
As World War II intensified, the Nazis stepped up pressure on Japan to hand over the Shanghai Jews. While the Nazis regarded their Japanese allies as "Honorary Aryans", they were determined that the Final Solution to the Jewish Question would also be applied to the Jews in Shanghai. Warren Kozak describes the episode when the Japanese military governor of the city sent for the Jewish community leaders. The delegation included Amshinover rabbi Shimon Sholom Kalish. The Japanese governor was curious and asked, "Why do the Germans hate you so much?"
Without hesitation and knowing the fate of his community hung on his answer, Reb Kalish told the translator (in Yiddish): "Zugim weil wir senen orientalim-Tell him [the Germans hate us] because we are Orientals." The governor, whose face had been stern throughout the confrontation, broke into a slight smile. In spite of the military alliance, he did not accede to the German demand and the Shanghai Jews were never handed over.
According to another rabbi who was present there, Reb Kalish's answer was "They hate us because we are short and dark-haired." Orientalim was not likely to have been said because the word is an Israeli academic term in modern Hebrew, not a word in classical Yiddish or Hebrew.the Japanese while committing war crimes like the rape of Nanking genocide really wasn't there goal conquest was and controlling the Chinese bread basket and natural resources.
While most countries rejected them, China issued 20k visas to Jews to allow them settle down in Shanghai. After the war, they mostly migrated to the U.S. 😅
Amen Praise The Lord In Jesus Name Amen
Both Japanese civilians and military helped over 18,000 Jews escape the Nazis, this angered the Nazis who demanded Tojo and the Imperials deport them back to Europe with the Japanese ignoring them.
all part of a deal called Project Pufferfish
Sugihara helped 2000 Jews vs 1200 Schindler. Sadly he was shamed by the Japanese govt for defying till his death
It is said he helped 6000!
A Japanese saved Jews fleeing persecution from Nazi Germany, meanwhile a Nazi John Rabe in Nanking helped shelter fleeing Chinese civilians from being massacred by their very allies Imperial Japan.
While most countries rejected Jews, Chinese consulate in Europe issued tens of thousands of visas to Jews to help them settle down in Shanghai. More than 20,000 Jews fled to Shanghai and lived there until end of the war, after the war they mostly migrated to the U.S., many years later some of them did revisit Shanghai and thank Chinese for saving them. 😂
Shame...!! There are no comments on the Dutch consuls: Zwartendijk in Kaunas, Lithuania & de Voogd in Kobe, Japan and without Nathan Gutwirth there would never be a way out of the claws of the Nazi's by the so called Curaçao visa. This video only sets Sugihara in the spotlight.. !! This was half the truth of the incredible story in '40/'41
It is never too late to keep finding out more about this terrible time.
"…deported to Japanese-occupied Shanghai…"
Anyone get it?
"I grabbed your house, let other people live in it and charge with the money. "
How kind and friendly they are.
But there are still many Japanese who deny Nanking ever happen.
That’s a lie.
@@sorobotic2543Lie for what? For the Japanese government lied that it had not done anything heinous? Even though there are plenty of photos and videos shooting by western journalists and the Japanese troops? Not to mention the human bodies. You'll never wake up a person who pretends to be asleep. A people who dare not face the history, who dare not take the responsibility is a true coward. The Japanese government is a cowardly murderer.
