Here is some more information on Chiune Sugihara, a true hero.
"Chiune Sugihara, and his wife Yukiko, are honored as "Righteous Gentiles" for their efforts to save Jews during the Holocaust". - www.jewishvirtuallibrary.org/chiune-sugihara

Sugihara became interested in Russian culture from a young age, and converted Orthodox Christianity while serving in an important position in Harbin, China which had a large Russian population.
He was very much influenced by scriptures and his faith.

It was the Dutch consul who falsified and issued the transfer visa's to the Dutch Caribbeans, It was not a Japanese visa.
Heroic though: the Japanese ambassador had to translate it into Japanese piece by piece what took a lot of time.

The Dutch man knew there was no way anybody can ever go to that island. He lied so that the Japanese might offer them transfer to Japan. Even the Japanese diplomat had no idea if any Jews would make it to Japan since they could not afford the travel.
