Did this challenge 20 years ago in the summer of 2004. My starting point was Newcastle, flight 1 to Copenhagen, flight 2 to Berlin, flight 3 to Nice and flight 4 took me to Paris. Including the flight home from Paris to Newcastle the total cost came in at less than £100 averaging £15-£19 per flight. I do definitely recommend you go back to Albania, what a beautiful country yet not really touristy yet (well it wasn't when I was there in 2017). Another great video, keep them coming.
Reminds me of a story some years ago: A couple travelled from their home town of Bournemouth to London, to catch a coach for a mystery destination holiday. As the coach was pulling away to head for the mystery destination, the driver proudly announced that the mystery destination was... Bournemouth.
Parents took a mystery train ride once, ended up in Torquay... nice as the place was back then, they'd just returned a week earlier from The Egnlish Riviera. Safe to say no hanging gardens or wildebeest majestically moving across the plains on either trip.
My parents, on holiday on the South Coast, went on a mystery coach trip. It took them to their home town. They had a cup of tea at home and went back to their holiday...
Frankly, you should have booked a second night at Jürgen's and spent a day to explore downtown Tirana. I have no idea if there is much to explore - but what use is it just to land, see an airport and fly out again?

I sometimes wish that Australia was a bit closer but then we wouldn’t have our beautiful weather. It would be so lovely though to be able to pop over to Paris for a weekend (I’ve been to Adelaide for a night spontaneously with some friends, cost a small fortune). Not quite the same as Paris but still lovely. New sub here 👍

Backtracking in aviation usually means direction. Meaning that if you head east with your first flight, you may travel north, south or east - but not back in a westerly direction. It also means that you keep moving away further from your starting point allowing to see more exotic places!
@34:00 That desk is not a Ryanair desk. They used to be *very* common before Ryanair switched to mobile BP, at least in CEE and the Balkans. It's an independent company which will print your BPs for much less than it would cost at the actual Ryanair airport counter (where you drop your bag if you have one). Considering a cost to print a page in black and white is somewhere in single digit cents, they only really need to print a couple to break even...
Given that the minimum wage in Albania is around £200 per month, having someone waiting all day for a single passenger to come along is already profitable. Depending on the rent the airport charges of course.
I always carry hard copies of tickets and hotel reservations. Occasionally, i encounter connection issues with my mobile. Happy to have a paper copy in those moments.

Memmingen e.g. has excellent connection to public transportation and you can get from there to Munich with a regional train in an hour, or to Ulm or go anywhere else in the beautiful Algäu Region of Germany. The town itself is also quite fine. It also has a beer garden right in front of it (it's Bavaria after all), so you can enjoy a cold one in summer while you watch your budget flight land and then hop through security fairly quickly. If you see it up on your flight radar, I wouldn't dismiss it :)

Good tip. Thanks!
Absolutely brilliant! How fun was that!
17:50 Russian built Antonov AN-2 (if I remember correctly). Even the East German Air Force used these reliable work horses up until the unification with West Germany. Were amazingly used by the Bundeswehr Luftwaffe afterwards. Great fun watching your "adventure".
Great video mate, will be interesting to know total coat of the whole few days, hotel prices food travel ect
Wow great idea..enjoyed the trip
You should have taken the cablecar ride to top of mountain at Tirana. Its the only good thing about that city

Lets see. The river is full of human sewage. Theres trash just dumped all along every road and river. The girl in Burger King shortchanged me. And the bus to the airport overcharged despite an actual published fare. I was being nice…..
@@davidwebb4904guess all about your personal experiences....
Enjoyed that. Hope to do this when I retire!
You are so right to want to come back to Albania. It's a gem of a place to view architectural styles, see the sights at the central plaza and masses of interest with 0.25 mile of the centre. Tirana Airport isn't on the Adriatic - it's at Durres - 40 minute coach ride from the airport bus station at the far end of the hire car offices.
Did East Mids to Gothenburg via Dublin!! last year 35 quid, 5hrs at Dublin was actually quite pleasant.
