One of the best bikes Hondas ever made why they took it off the market is beyond me these things are bulletproof a blast to ride and who cares if it's got a Kickstart you learn the technique and you kick it and it starts so quit whining try to go out and find one of these bikes in good condition and buy it they're worth the money and they resale value is very high good luck Happy Hunting
Only a xr650r could be over twenty years old and look and sound this good. And keep going up in value. How could it possibly get better large Rads and a large Caliper crf halogen headlight maybe. Lovely bike. Cheers Paul at XRs uk.
It's one of the firsts Xr's 650r 2000 model so deserves special treatment and as far as I know never been used off-road.. and so true that keep going in value 👌 thanks Paul for nice comments I have to visit your online shop again.. I asked about case savers while ago durning the lockdown remember? All the best Paul 👍
Hello i have one a those and i need the spedometer the one you have or tachometer did you have the part number or where i can find it please help a Bike Bro
after a while the loud xr exhaust gets to you. im going to make mine run okay with quiet insert for stock exhaust. still makes cool roar from intake sound when giving the WOT
Does anyone know why Honda didn't export this version to North America? I have a 2001 XR650R which I street-legalized thanks to laid-back requirements in Arizona and Texas. But still, it'd be nice to have a keyed-ignition, speedometer, battery, electric start, etc. I don't get why North America's only choice for a street-legal 650 thumper is the air-cooled, steel-framed XR650L. What a waste.
Hello colleague, I'm surprised, your driving style is aggressive. I wish you the best of luck that you and your BigRedPig survive the fight in rush hour traffic. Nice machine with Akra sound
I commute all year round and usually I use different bike for commuting(nc750 at the moment), piggy only sometimes when sunny days haha Thanks for watching
It's probably best I've not got mine anymore I was looking for shortcuts everywhere 🤣 hope you've got the oversized radiators for in the town it gets hot waiting at the lights had nearly 140° one day
That's amazing.. you can say about yourself that you are the lucky owner of nearly brand new xr650r .. you must be pleased that you didn't sale for peanuts 10 years ago as price only goes up specially those days All the best👍
Where can we see a walk around of your Supermoto? I just baught a 2021 xr650l and it’s going straight from the showroom to the sport shop for the Supermoto conversion. Would love to take it to London from the U. S to ride there lol great run appreciate the video, Just subbed and seen your bike,,,sweeet
Hi Mate yeah see my channel there's one walkaround my brp.. congrats on your purchase Great stuff Visiting London on your XR? Why not or I'll take my piggy to US 😁👍 Thanks for watching more videos coming I hope
Xr650r was build for long desert races where piggy's natural environment is but even if you not Baja rider It's good fun to own this bike .. piggy as Supermoto is brilliant but as a first bike? All depends how you feel .. it's plenty of torque there 😁👌
@@biohazard8295 Kick starting is easy and you can start it in your flip flops once you know correct procedure.. if you fall over ( off road riding)its hard to start as carburetor flooded.. there is another procedure to clear it out... so as you can see the motorbikes with magic buttons/electric starter are more friendly 😉
Thanks man .. my one definitely is not for sale but form time to time you could find some good Xr on ebay uk.. Honda stops production 15 years ago so they become a quite rare those days.. Hello from 🇬🇧 👍
@@TheQQRYQ80 Awesome, thanks alot. So any major flaws you've seen through your ownership? Also how many miles? I'm looking at getting one or maybe a dr650, or a drz400...
@@YoungOne777I have never owned Dr or drz so hard to say about reliability but what I know that xr650r is very reliable and no problem so far.. good luck with your purchase Thanks for watching 👍
No way the speedometer is correct. Traffic is not going 140kph = 86mph. Anything over 55mph without a windscreen your chest becomes a massive wind plow. Anyway, Awesome Bike!!!!
Here goes,,,, I personally couldn't think of nothing worse to commute on like sitting on a scaffolding board on a wacker plate. Sold mine before lockdown looked at loads of old abused one's but found a minter in the end never gelled with it found it disappointing. Lovely to look at great investment iconic bike just not for me.
I agree with you it's not the best bike for commuting and its so true re scaffold board 😄 I use other bikes for commuting and Brp only occasionally.. yep ..hard to find good XR those days
I could listen to that motor all day!
It's music to my ears too
Quickest way to get to work good to see the BRP 😀👍👍👍
quickest with lots of fun .. not the best mpg but who cares 😄
Thanks for watching 👍

So true and well said .. there is a few models resurrected like Africa twin, monkey or c90 so one day that will happen to BRP👍😎

Loud exhaust is perfect in city as we all know that "Loud pipes save lives"
but even with stock exhaust XR sounds brilliant 👍

Horsepower is fun but torque is your friend!
I've had one for 20yr. .just putting it back on road after a 17yr hibernation

Nice riding 👌, is that electric start you have?
Kickstarter only .. there is no electric start in xr650r
BRPs like dirt the most, especially if there are some wallows!
It's called Natural environment 😃👌
How's the maintenance been long term? Anything weird or annoying? Also what year is it?
It's 2000 model .. oil change regularly every 1k and oil filter every 3 changes if not use offroad.. that's it

@@TheQQRYQ80 Hey thanks, stay safe 💪🤝
Is that stock exhaust?
Would love one of these ! There’s probably less than 10 in Ireland and any that do pop up Are in bad condition
I’ve just sold one to a guy in Ireland so there now 11 one more of us one less of them.
Fix one up! Save a BRP.
does the speedometer work correctly with the supermoto tyres?
Definitely not.. 17 inches wheel spin faster so more on the clock..
@@TheQQRYQ80 ah that's unfortunate.
LOL whats the hurry 😆🤣

You right Drewz 650 speedometer not showing correct speed because supermoto 17" wheels are fitted which are smaller than original wheels
