A quasi-star (also called black hole star) is a hypothetical type of extremely massive and luminous star that may have existed early in the history of the Universe.
Such a star would have to be at least 1,000 solar masses (2.0 × 10^33 kg)
Quasi-stars are predicted to have surface temperatures higher than 10,000 K (9,700 °C).
At these temperatures, and with radii of approximately 10 billion kilometers (67 au), or 14,000 times that of the Sun, each one would be about as luminous as a small galaxy.

The quasi star is not just and ordinary star its a black hole star
It is an ordinary star. It was just so massive while it was forming that it’s core collapsed into a black hole. It was massive enough that the radiation pressure released by black hole wouldn’t destroy it outright. Instead a very delicate balance emerges.

The existence of Quasi Stars are not proofed, so far. So the comparing is irrelevant.
This theory is still pretty valid because it would explain why there are so huge black holes like ton etc. Normally a black hole has the mass of 20-100 suns. The theory of the quasi star would explain why there are these giant black holes because a black hole can't get that big normally. Just watch kurzgesagt they explain very good
