Rest in peace, Alexis Turner. June 23, 2015. The adults in charge of this trip took a lot of flack for having these kids out in the woods at this time. But, could they have ever predicted such a tragedy? As a youth leader myself I applaud them for taking these kids into the deep woods to experience what many of you reading this witness on a regular basis. The outcome is indeed sad, but it is no one’s fault. I don’t know if the cairn you found is intended as a memorial or not, but we will just assume that it is.
Looks like this was a great experience. There is a state forest just north of where you guys hiked called Rock City State Forest. Not setup for backpacking, but a nice day hike. Great towering rock cliffs that you can traverse and and walk through like your experience in Minister. It's about 45 minutes from me so if you ever make a trek that way again reach out.
Welcome to Pennsylvania! Our state has great trails and many have good water sources. Minister Creek is one of my favorite trails. Did you notice the natural flowing spring you may have passed on the NCT section? You can drink straight from it without filtering. Good job on your videos!
Beautiful area...I've been wanting to go here for awhile. Starting to run out of new spots to backpack in Ohio so starting to venture out of state to PA and MI. I just wish this one was more than 8 miles....might have to combine with another to make it worth the drive over.
Jason Wish it connects into the North Country Trail which definitely allows you to add some additional distance. Definitely beautiful though. Thanks for watching!
Lol there was no need to cross Minister Creek at Deer Lick, there are many campsites along the creek, the “fishing trail” is the original Minister Creek trail, you will find old paint blazes if paying attention
Yea definitely. We were intrigued by the area given the relatively recent micro burst that went through. We wouldn't bushwhack through that stuff again though. That's for sure!
From The Dust Outdoors that happened a while back, a 15 year old girl died and 2 others needed to be flown out due to injuries from fallen trees, 2015 I believe
Wakis85 yeah, I felt the same way. Way to narrow for me. For now I will stick to my Bear Butt. Keep an eye out, I do have another hammock I am going to try out soon and I will do a review on it to compare the 3. -Chris
Nice tour of Minister Creek. You guys are fun to watch.
Great channel Gentleman!! Love this adventure especially the moss covered rocks & the flat rock faces. You have a new subscriber from Canada. Thanks!!
Pinetree Line Outdoors thanks for watching! Definitely one of our favorite trips so far. Allegheny was a wonderful forest. - James

One of our favorite hikes to date. The camping area at the top of the loop is amazing. Let us know how your trip goes! -James

Daniel Helmbrecht no! We must have missed it. We will have to look for it next time. Nothing more refreshing then cold spring water. -James

the North Country Trail has 100 miles in the Allegheny National Forest, and passed by some great trails like Tracy Ridge, Morrison, etc

At 9:03, was that on the Middle Loop before the overlook? Did you go up the South Loop, first, to hit the Middle Loop?
