Gaelic with a long 'ay' sound is Irish, Gaelic with a short 'a' sound is Scottish. 2 different languages. There are still about 60,000 speakers in Scotland, mostly in the north & there are even Gaelic radio & TV stations & programming, it's not dead, not yet.

Sam does an amazing job at making his character Jaimie look so effortless and natural! It’s hard to believe that he finds it challenging! Not to mention the “classy” look if his newly released “spirit” line! Well done! What’s the next project????

I feel for him, I am learning the language and it is HARD being that it isn't latin based. Unless you are learning a different laguage that isn't it can get daunting.

Irish Gaelic and Scots Gallic or Erse are close cousins, but different. Ms. Balf speaks the Irish version. In Diana Gaboldon's book "The Scottish Prisoner" they use the fact that the two are different when Jamie is asked to translate a mysterious paper for Lord John and his brother, who apologizes for not shooting him.

Gaelic is very hard to learn is right. I was learning Irish Gaelic on Duolingo and it didn't work out well. I needed to learn it face to face as well as having audio to practice with.

Gàidhlig is not a dying language (yet) as new speakers are learning. It is endangered in the mainland, though. It's still spoken in the highlands and islands of Scotland is still the first language for many people in the Hebridies.
Also, Irish gaelic (Gaeilige) is pronounced GAY-lik, Gàidhlig is pronounced GAH-lik. Though as you had an AI read this script, I suppose it can't be helped.

It does not matter about the Galic, we can’t speak or understand it. He tries and that is all we need!
