    Great video! So what are the pellets they use at bells mill? I know Richard fishes there a fair bit, done a few matches there but havent a clue what they are! Very dark, dont look like either of those in the video 🤷‍♂️

      They’re from a different company, and a bit of a pain to be honest, you don’t see them at many venues. Any amount of water turns micros to mush so just go very carefully and I’d always use your own hookbait on the band if fishing hard pellets.

      @@WinningWays 👍 yeah i thought they were odd! I ended up using them as paste in the summer, worked really well but like you said i weren’t keen on them for the hook at all! Thank you for the reply 👍🎣

    Good video what would also help with choosing pellets is what Jamie uses for what situation . Stodgy pellets for margin with corn skrettings or coppens ,
    What pellets for tapping in from a cup short and over ? Which micros for 2 min soak for slower break down / 5 min soak for quicker break down please explain both pellets uses cheers !

    • @WinningWays
      @WinningWays  2 роки тому

      Mentioned it in the video but basically if you have a choice then any situation you want to soak a micro use skrettings. Simple 👍🏻

    As much as I see your point, personally I think it’s a con. Surely the well known named pellets are fishery friendly if they are being manufactured and sold so why are fisheries insisting of you use either the two named in this video. I think it’s unfair of the average angler who doesn’t fish as often as a match angler having to buy different pellets for different fisheries.

    • @WinningWays
      @WinningWays  2 роки тому +4

      It's the reality at a lot of fisheries all over the UK so knowing the differences can catch you more fish be it pleasure or match fishing. Which is what this video was about :)

      Coarse pellets were introduced around 8 years ago to simply generate revenue at a fishery I used to attend. These were Skrettings as used by 90% of other fisheries. When Skrettings had supply problems fisheries changed over to Coppens as they were cheaper to buy. Coppens has a higher oil content than Skrettings so if the change came to make it easier for the fish to digest the pellets in the colder months why are Coppens supplied at all!
      If coarse pellets were brought in for fish digestion welfare, how come they allow sweet corn which humans have a hard time digesting even with the length of our intestinal track.
      Some fisheries allow any type of pellet as long as it's bought from them. Why? revenue.

      But the joke if it the this fisheries pellets are good but you go to their places and they SELL sonubaits and spotted fin pellets in their shops

    • @scottandrewjohnmiddleton8676
      @scottandrewjohnmiddleton8676 2 роки тому +1

      Trouble is there are too many anglers chucking kilos of trout pellets or large halibut pellets into fisheries and especially this time of year its no good to the fish or the the water so its just a way to police what goes in I do agree however most fisheries seem to be a bit too expensive compared to the local tackle shops even for the same pellets ie skrettings or cobbens

  • @mickrussell934
    @mickrussell934 2 роки тому +1

    As a non match angler (yet) i’m still slightly confused, what are the popular (common) brands selling? Ie Spotted fin boosted are coppens or skrettings? Dyanamite Baits swim stim are what? Sonubaits Perfect are what? Non of them actually say.

    • @scottandrewjohnmiddleton8676
      @scottandrewjohnmiddleton8676 2 роки тому

      Don't let all the brands colours flavours and shapes confuse you in most tackle shops you will find a plain clear bag with either skrettings or cobbens in and their usually half the price of the branded 1s and work just as well unless u want expanders or pop up/ wafter pellets for the hook most of the bright colours and flavours are to catch the angler

    • @WinningWays
      @WinningWays  2 роки тому +2

      Just have a look at them next time in the shop, most you should be able to tell in the same way. More porous are skretting and the more waxy ones will be coppens.

    this cracks me up, having been in an industry using Coppens, I doubt you guys could identify all pellets from Coppenhall and Skrettens, as both companies supply a huge variety of pellet, for instance, Wheatgerm, medium protein, high protein , fast sinking, sinking, floating, then you have the specialist pellet.
    I would imagine these fisheries use the cheapest pellet available from each supplier, I hope not As the cheap stuff is junk.

    • @WinningWays
      @WinningWays  2 роки тому +1

      From a fishing stand point there is one main pellet from each manafacturer which is used, so yes they all have a huge array available but in the world of fishery pellets they aren't really relevant.

    It's a massive con. Fisheries use cheap ass pellets to make money.
    The amount of money bait company's sink into testing and production of their product is immense. That's why farmer John will sell four bags of crap for a tenner but one bag from a reputable bait company is 3.50. We are told that the fish are raised and used to a certain pellet.. but then told doing something different to the next angler will give you an edge? 🤔🤑

    • @WinningWays
      @WinningWays  2 роки тому +1

      Fisheries are a business at the end of the day, so need to make a profit, if they didn't make money this way it would no doubt be reflected in higher ticket prices.
