I can't believe how many people completely missed the meaning of this poem. It's about insecurity. It's about how many women feel insecure about their bodies and how, when truly loved the little imperfections don't matter to their guys.
This is amazing...she expresses so well what I'm sure so many people experience. The point of this is not to blame men for all her problems, it's illustrate how her views of her own body affect her relationship. Her boyfriend does love her and does think she's is beautiful and perfect, but she herself cannot believe it. She feels the need to please him sexually just to get that affirmation, but in the end he recognizes that and tries to help her see herself the way he does. It's a love story people!
