Greetings from the U.S. Love the videos I've seen of yours. Great detail, don't feel like you go too far with them. Ive used raptor liner for 2 years on the inside cabinets of linemans trucks that I was patching up at my last job and I loved it. Very...forgiving. We even painted it afterwards. I used to use a 80 on a da sander and feather everything out but that gets time consuming. A simple 5" grinder with 24-36 grit discs for the bulk of it and hit the corners and hard to reach areas with 3m rolocs. It never shrank back into the scratches.
The Upol stuff is a urethane, so you can expect some flex to it, Its all rather smooth. Its good for when you want to load something that you dont want to scratch. There are other bedliners that are "slip resistant" but are much coarser, and can easily scratch your load. Scary if you're loading furniture. I wouldnt hesitate to load something like that with this Raptor Liner.
I like the UPOL stuff. I used UPOL Gravitex on the floor of the Jag. Gotta be the easiest thing I've ever sprayed. The Gravitex can be over coated with 2k to match the car colour too. Great vid, keep 'em coming mate...
great video gunman...i bought a box of this raptor liner yesterday and have never used it before...i am going to do the back of my land rover with it, also the cab floor...so it is nice to see it is as tough as they say it is...keep the cool vids coming.... Paul @ K & P Smartpaint
I just used this along the bottom of my truck, all the green along the bottom for rock protection from rocks being thrown up from my tires. From what I have been told it should hold up fine for that. (Was getting rock chips in the paint) What are your thoughts on that?
Thing about spraying a house with this stuff the roof White reflects the heat the outside blue. Moving to Utah need something to protect the snow the rain and the heat.
Can u describe more precisely how to achieve this hard, coarse antislippery surface instead of shiny one? Do you just paint it more "dry" ? Thanks for your response in advance, love your jobs!
I'm thinking of painting a 2.4x1.2m offroad trailer with raptor liner. In a silver colour. What coverage are you getting with the product. You think its worth the extra money to paint the inside of the trailer with it ? Only going to have draws inside it.
Hey Gunman. I can tell you that u-pol doesn't have a paint line, but as you said they have everything around it primers, clears, body fillers and some of them are very high quality at a very decent price. I have sprayed raptor with a sata klc P,a gun designed by sata to spray polyester spray filler. I got the same finish as you did on the vw but faster as the gun had a spray fan unlike the gun you used.
Hey Mate, here in America and would like to know how much pressure and how far should I shoot the Raptor U-POL product to get a smoother texture. Almost like your test panels. I am painting my whole truck with this product. In other words, does the spray gun that comes with the kit, do the trick or should I use another type of gun to get a smother finish? Thank you in advance for your advice.
Thanks for the great video gunman! Can you explain exactly what you did to make the liner less slippery please. I didn't quite understand what you sprayed on top of it and if you then sprayed liner over that again? Thanks again!!!
+The Gunman You can actually mix the sand/garnet in with the liner and just spray the whole lot together. I use a small soda blasting gun and bottle for applying the Raptor Liner. Its great stuff.
11apples100 yes, I spoke to a sales rep who recommended 100g to 1lt, we also did some tests with garnet applied over the top of wet raptor liner making it like sandpaper, a bit of it will end up wearing off over time but you'll have a higher grip perfect for a step on a boat or something like that.
Hello, I watched your Video about the Raptor, and I decided to use it to respray my 4x4. I am on the testing phase now and I can't make the coarse and antislip effect you achieved.. What gun do you use for that? I got the Upol gun and used it between 40-80psi. Please help!! Keep up the good work..!
Hi Gunman great review on the rapture product. It just happens I am preparing the surface under my Rx7 to repaint. There is some factory stone guard under there and painted areas, so I am rubbing into what is there, then I was going to spray primer where I need to, stone guard and 2k paint over the stone guard. After seeing this product I am thinking of using this instead of the stone guard and 2k paint. What would you do. Thanks.
So the best set up is at 40psi and double handed? I'm painting with raptor my hole Dodge Ram 2500 and I wish to know the best set of combination for the truck
I'd leave it at full for the air pressure, I always do when using a stoneguard gun. I just uploaded a video, it'll be published on Friday and I did a Q&A session answering questions and yours was answered in the video.
Greetings from Southeastern United States. I have a 20 year old that I'm working on and like the bed liner over whole truck to help hide the imperfections that come with 250,000 miles. Your review sold me. Would you recommend bare metal and full prime or sand, clean, and spray?
After reading up on some health hazards attributed to sprayable hardener, is this safe to do outside with a general painting respirator (N95 I believe)?
+MrMrsregor you can do it a few different ways you can actually add it inside the mixture all over the top you can literally just sprinkle it over the top of the raptor liner while it's still wet
Excuse The GunMan after you paint the car what do you do next do you sand with 2000 or buff or what? I just painted my bmw e46 323i and I don't know what is the next step after I clear coated the car ?
+jacy thegoon you could wet sand the shine off with 1000 grit,,than buff ,,, with a good cutting wax polish it will look twice as good,,,,plus the wet sanding will take out any orange peel you might have.
Been doing my truck as time allows, using the tin-table, using 90ml of colour per tub, then 90ml of thinners but spraying it with a 2mm HVLP gravity gun, results a very smooth stone chip finish, but still enough texture to hide the hideous beaten up body work im dealing with.
*Покрыл Raptorом машину. При нанесении соблюдалась полностью технология включая использования всех компонентов этой фирмы. Машина ещё в процессе сборки. Понаблюдаю за данной теорией использования этого покрытия на себе*
thanks for the great video! i am about to do this to a jeep, i have heard the line at the shoulder of the bottle is where you fill to when adding the hardener.?. is that true
thanks for the response and great videos ! i have finished my jeep xj and it came out better that i would have hoped. the texture covers any imperfections
Hi matey, Brilliant Review, However towards the end you stated how you sprayed "Garnet" on the test panel, how did you do this, was it mixed into the raptor, or was it mixed with some other chemical to make it stick, please let me know how you put the top coating of garnet on. Cheers.
Testing my memory now but from memory I did a couple of different methods, one where I mixed it with the Raptor liner and one where I just sprayed it straight onto the wet Raptor with a cheap sand blasting gun. Spraying it on after gave a much higher grip but did have a tendency to rub off over time obviously but had a much higher grip.
For the american crowd. Theres a product on amazon by "Custom shop" thats the exact same, even comes with a upol gun. A bit cheaper. It works great. Sprayed it on my Tacoma/Hilux.
+Rigo V it is the same company,,,,also t rex is a urethane with a hardener. I used raptor on my ranger . turned out really good, You can clear coat this stuff too .
man, it sucks that you and Custom Spray mods are on different sides of the country or else I would suggest you both to have a good old shoot out with your guns, show us your mad skills... even the MCM fans would love to see it
Surely the best review on the U-Pol Raptor product out there ... very thorough and impressive testing... Thanks very much chap!

Yes I was very impressed with this product even though we do pay stupid prices for it in Australia.
Epoxy Primer done and now time for bedliner on my flat bed. Just checking videos before I make mistakes lol. Truck will be on my channel.
Used it the first time last week, it’s awesome!
awesome vid gunman. your videos are always entertaining and loaded with great information. keep up the good work. thanks!!
Great review man this has to be the best I've seen. I had my doubts about this liner but I think you sold me on it
It's good stuff, also this was a 100% independent review, no sponsorship or anything.

Great vid, keep 'em coming mate...
Really looks like some durable stuff. Nice review, thx
My directions on that particular liner says to hit metal with etch. Enjoy the videos. Good stuff.
Very helpful.Thank you 👍

Great video. How did u get the finish of the test panel that looked like sandpaper.? Please explain..
This video was really helpful. Thank you sir.
I wonder how the stuff will be if you took the white color and spray it on walls in your house. Can the kids put holes in it.
What was the instagram page of the other raptor liner guy you mentioned at the beginning ?
I just used this along the bottom of my truck, all the green along the bottom for rock protection from rocks being thrown up from my tires. From what I have been told it should hold up fine for that. (Was getting rock chips in the paint) What are your thoughts on that?
How many bottles would it take to coat 4 piece fender flares and front and rear bumper?
Thing about spraying a house with this stuff the roof White reflects the heat the outside blue. Moving to Utah need something to protect the snow the rain and the heat.

What psi were you using when you sprayed the part at 6:40?
What PSI are you shooting at?
The color pigment is your regular base coat or your base coat?
Available in Canada?
Can u post a video were u sprayed upol with garnet...

adi2200us Cool, thanks for the info man :-)
What did you spray over the raptor liner to make it more like sand paper?
+John Fugett I used garnet which is used for sandblasting but beach sand would also work.
Thanks!
Did you mix the garnet in or did you just lightly blast it with garnet after?
Nvm, I watched it again and heard you the second time where you lightly blasted on the garnet while the liner was still wet.

How do metallic colours go with the tintable stuff? Looking to do my Courier the same colour as my BF ute
Can clear be added to the mix ,so that it would have more shine?
+SonofGodly
Its actually got a decent gloss to it as it is when you see it out in the sunshine.
Interesting review.
Thanks!

Sashav23 Sand or garnet

Hi look cool what number of psi air for spray u use?
8:34 ...the what version? i think this guy is speaking english, but i'm not completely certain, lol.
Raccoon Willie™ no need to be a dick about it, I said garnet.
What Psi were you set at and how much Garnet/sand did you add to the bottle to get that nice nonslip texture. Thanks for the awesome video.
100gm to 1lt is what they recommend, not sure on the psi setting, the gun had no reg or air adjuster valve so just max.
+The Gunman Thanks

Sand with a coarse sandpaper like 80 grit then clean and spray, this stuff is so strong I don't think it really needs a primer.
Thank you!
After reading up on some health hazards attributed to sprayable hardener, is this safe to do outside with a general painting respirator (N95 I believe)?
mtnbiker49 As long as its a good quality respirator with charcoal filters it should be fine.
3m 6001
if you get the opertunitty, please do i video on how to apply garnet, that would be great for interior of the jeep floor
+MrMrsregor you can do it a few different ways you can actually add it inside the mixture all over the top you can literally just sprinkle it over the top of the raptor liner while it's still wet
cool thanks for the free education and entertainment
What this article is and how it is sprayed on the car

hey gunman what would be a better gun? Devilbiss flg4 or Iwata airgunsa AZ3 ?
Jpm FLG5
I have a dodge ram 3500 megacab and I want to raptor line all the truck, how many bottles do I need???

+MrMrsregor I did make this video a while ago but from memory that's correct
what do you use to clean the gun out with? acetone ?
Just solvent. Gunwash thinner.
thanks for the response and great videos ! i have finished my jeep xj and it came out better that i would have hoped. the texture covers any imperfections
great review, what kind of garnet did you use for the non-slip?
+ADAM “DOC” DERR just standard garnet used for sandblasting
Hi matey, Brilliant Review, However towards the end you stated how you sprayed "Garnet" on the test panel, how did you do this, was it mixed into the raptor, or was it mixed with some other chemical to make it stick, please let me know how you put the top coating of garnet on. Cheers.

Does it also waterproof the bed?
Absolutely, it definitely does.
This stuff I pray by the pallet you can olso get the tintable stuff low odor easy spraying I wouldn't use any other brand.
I may try to put some aluminium oxide in for some step rails
Can anyone tell me the coverage (roughly) of this stuff when I gun it at 15%
Is this the same product as lizard skin?
a saw heat remove skratches on this surface
man, it sucks that you and Custom Spray mods are on different sides of the country or else I would suggest you both to have a good old shoot out with your guns, show us your mad skills... even the MCM fans would love to see it
That would be cool but I do have an unfair advantage, I am THE GUNMAN :)
Nothing wrong with a little Shake And Shoot once in a while
was here
Do a scratch test on it with a key no one has done a scratch test yet
If you can find smart brand bedliner its literally the same thing in a different wrapper and alot cheaper.
aaronzx10r Just looked into it man and it looks like its an American thing.
👌🏼
HA - "beach sand' - me thinks not - it has SALT in it.
HORRIBLE repair with plastic !!!
raptor is junk don't waste your money it looks good but not durable at all
