    These "mental aspect" videos have been done to death. I'd really like to see more of advanced mechanics, getting a feel for properly last hitting, knowing when to push, things that players can practice and get good at so they can help carry themselves out of shit ELO.

      Albert VanBennekom I do have a fair few of those already :) There are a lot of topics to cover though. What specifically would you want to see?

      foxdropLoL - Be a Better League Player unless you already have a video of it already perhaps something about avoiding enemy wards, spots where enemy laners are likely to put wards, paths to take when you know where they are because I find that is a difficulty of mine when I'm jungling.
      Also I'd love to see a S5 Rengar jungle guide, he's one of my favorite champs :D

      foxdropLoL - Be a Better League Player I would really like a video where you explain when and when not to push, and what to do when recalling. It's the thing i know i can't do properly but can't find a good video explaining what to do. Thank you if you do it ;)

      foxdropLoL - Be a Better League Player Again, don't know if you've made a video on the topic already or not (if you have would love the link), but a video on wave manipulation would be great. I'm in Platinum and I main top lane where wave manipulation is super important (since it is the "island"). I do a fairly good job of managing it, but I still find myself sometimes leaving top lane when it's slow pushing into the enemy tier 2 and I lose a lot of XP and gold to the enemy top laner who can team fight, recall, and catch the massive wave at his turret. Any tips you have for this (especially for bot lane where no one seems to emphasize this aspect of the game at all below Diamond I) would make a great video. I also understand if you're not the best at this topic because you main jungle, but if you think you can do it I would appreciate it.

      Yes. That's the point. While I do appreciate this video's goal, all he talked about were abstract ideas that take lots of practice. In my opinion, there wasn't much substance in this video.

    Here's some tips
    Enemy Vayne is 3/0 and has a botrk? Probably not a good idea to 1v1 her with a pickaxe
    Ace the enemy team? Probably a good idea to push down a tower or inhib and not do wraiths
    Are you at full health? Probably not a good idea to randomly back to buy 1 amplifying tome
    No vision of baron or the enemy team? Probably not a good idea to walk to baron alone

    I think one of the best points you made in this video is, "have future plans influence current actions." This idea seems to be so underrated in most players because most league players tend to play in the moment. Even if you don't take upon a shotcaller role, I feel that it is important to understand the fundamentals of creating situations where there will be room for opportunities to take an advantage/lead over the enemy team. I think people are underrating these things because it doesn't influence them mechanically as a player, but rather provides a foundation of how your mindset should be when playing League of Legends.
    Great video foxdrop!

      The other day I was playing with a bunch of friends, of different ranks (diamonds, bronze, not even lvl 30, silver..I am gold for reference) and I put a pink in a specific bush.

  • @JupiterLight28
    @JupiterLight28 9 років тому

    This video is more about key points to work towards rather than exactly how to get better. It is still helpful because you have to ask yourself "how do I get myself to that point" rather then being told of a list of things you need to do in situations a, b, c, and d. Which there are a million situations you could be in.
    That sort of thinking leads you to be more independent. While you do need to work together it is important to learn how to make your own decisions and like you said it is a mind set. I hope other people will understand that.
    With that being said I don't view these as much as "tips" as I do mental milestones. If that makes sense. I do enjoy the points made in this video though.

    • @JupiterLight28
      @JupiterLight28 9 років тому

      JupiterLight Another note, now that you have covered a wide scope of what you need to work towards maybe you can make videos covering each point you've made here more specifically. Would be an easy way to get people to check out more of your videos. Say, at the end of this video you direct your audience in "How to know when to go into a battle or retreat" and videos such as that.

    • @QaZzFilms
      @QaZzFilms 9 років тому

      JupiterLight Well, all the situations in league can be easily manageable with only taking some quality normal o ranked matches. What do I mean with this? Starting to think more like when you are in laning phase and you wanna go to boy some items, but if you leave the lane he might take half of your 1st tower giving to his team a small advantage vs your team at top and jungle, they might go to mid bcuz your tower will be distroyed by minions so they can focus in the 2 remaining lanes.
      See what I did here? I made a way of how this can end.
      You know. The things in Platinum dont get very different of Gold. The thing that diference them is the mental part. They think all the probable ways to win either a trade or a teamfight.
      :) Hope this helped ya

    Gonna put this out here, I'm stuck in bronze like many of the people who are going to read this comment, and I'm a support main. This point has beat to death, but I try to teach my teammates the proper things that they should be doing, like telling a behind adc to focus on csing, as I know they can't win a trade, and kind of being a command center toward the jungler by keeping proper vision and pointing out which lanes need help and are gankable whilst I'm walking to lane. This also helps me win more, but not enough. Flaming is not the answer.

    one funny thing I learned from climbing from low elo to high elo was that bronze/silver players only know a bit of the champions in the game and almost nothing about stratagies, so they just fight and hope for the best. gold/lower-plat players know good and effective ways to finnish someone off in fights like saving abilities for the final blow. and high-plat/diamond players know almost exectly when they need to back off in fights or how to get away so that the final blow wont hit them.
    but that is ofc only one of the idk how many things that are different in every elo

    What if your teammate fed 0/10 only 10 minutes into the game? Not that you cant come back from that but if you lose its pretty much their fault.

    • @michaeloh6221
      @michaeloh6221 9 років тому

      +sunxnes If your teammate fed 0/10, then that means he doesn't give any gold. It would be worthless to kill them. Tell them to build tank, absorb some damage, suicide into the enemy team and the rest of you clean up.

    • @kingmidas2112
      @kingmidas2112 9 років тому +4

      +sunxnes Consider this: Every game contains you, 4 random teammates, and 5 random enemies. Assuming your play is consistent, as you are the only factor you can control and rely on, the chance of a player being so bad that they cost their team the game being on your team is only 4 out of 9. Therefore, over time, trolls, feeders and afkers statistically RAISE your elo higher than it would be if they never existed, as they are on your enemies team 5 out of 9 times.

    • @4289job
      @4289job 9 років тому

      "free pink" a pink is only 100g and you can only place one. So if you want more wards you need to buy normal wards so you just spend 75g per ward. The other yellow trinket allows you to place 3 normal wards without needing to buying anything. That is 225g, that is more than 2 pinks in 3 minutes. Normally pink wards are used for nash/dragon or the defensive wards that stay longer than 2 minutes.

    • @S3PT1M1
      @S3PT1M1 9 років тому +1

      yeah and in a game with invis people, you will more than place 2 pinks the entire game- not saying everyone should get one obv, but someone always should.
      regardless, saying the pink trinket is useless is still stupid, situational yes, but not useless

    Thanks Foxie! I already knew a lot of this stuff, my main problem is trying to learn how to carry without playing boring champions. Nearly every time I play Zac, my favorite champion, I get fed and have a 2-3 level advantage. I need to figure out myself how I can use that lead to boost my team into a huge snowball as well. Like right now what I do is I just initiate and assume my team will follow and do damage, then I realize that one of their guys are fed and can one shot my back line, and I throw the game. But I don't want to throw away my lead by letting the other team push for free while my team farms my jungle and is salty. I can't figure out what to do, because I can't peel if no one initiates. They seem to prefer running halfway across the map in 5v3's.

    Most players that are good but still end up losing solo que games is because they are placed on a little too much tilt,so a tip is to think that whenever someone says something mean,those are just words,they cannot actually hurt you if you can take a punch (if ya know what I mean) so for an example there are two paths,one where you chose to argue and flame at someone and lose the game (because you are typing for 10000 years),or you could just not say anything at all and focus and play at your best to try win the game.

    I love the vid man. As a master player some shit literally happens in ranked ques esp. when challengers and masters have to deal with a flaming diamond. God I really hate those flamers. I usually mute them then turn it back on when the game is coming to an end. But great vid man.

  • @EdilarinProducts
    @EdilarinProducts 9 років тому

    about the flaming thing: I play in high diamond, usually with diamond 1, masters and diamond 2-3's depending on how my mmr happens to be at the time, and when I play on my smurf to carry my friend up to plat/diamond, the difference in how much people flame is significant. In low ELO's, usually bronze to plat, people tend to flame alot, they blame teammates and refuse to accept the fact that they might have done something wrong aswell, and constantly blame teammates and think of themselves as this LoL god. My tip is, just ignore them, type "lol" and press ignore, and tell yourself: is the choice he's doing any good? if not, don't follow him... and by this I don't mean if your team starts doing baron, and you think it's, a bad idea, don't start split pushing or something. What I meant was, if this one player engage into a fight you don't think you can win, don't fight. If you're one of the guys who easily get annoyed: my tip is, play something else if you're on tilt... this is an online game, and people won't always play the way you want them to, and while them "sucking" might ruin your fun, flaming them ruins their fun.
    TL;DR: Don't flame, just let it go

    Okay dear forxdrop i got a serious question to you: what do you do, if you are behind your lane opponent, who has an great kill pressure on you, but instead of helping you come back in the game, your own team even only comes to your lane to take your farm so that you fall even further behind? i am currently in Gold 5 (and hopefully rising soon) and still see this way to often that my own team plays against me rather then playing with me.

  • @titolovely8237
    @titolovely8237 9 років тому

    challenger players consistently have good mechanics, and dont miss opportunities. missing opportunities to make plays is the number 1 thing ive seen low-mid elo players do wrong. it IS a mistake if you miss dragon opportunities, baron steals, teleport ganks, and/or abuse a bad laning opponent. playing passively can cost you more games than aggression. if you're simply keeping even with players in sub plat, you have miles of room to improve. you need to be beating bad players badly.
    been in diamond since season 3, 1980 elo season 2. im no challenger player, but it's easy to tell when a player isn't up to par when he misses punishing my mistakes.

    The issue I have with this, as most people relate, is that many of these things come with expectations of your teammates to do the same. If you notice an enemy makes a mistake and noone else on your team does its very easy to headbut pulverize the enemy adc and instead of insta gib them, pop ult and run like hell cuz your in a 1v4. If you plan on taking drag in a minute and say drag one minute get wards in, and a minute later your adc is in base your time was wasted, so i'm not trying to complain but I have lost so many games by trying to be smart and won so many by see hero kill hero, I've given up on trying to play strategically, maybe if I ever make platinum.

    To all the people who are disappointed from the video: the video title should be perceived and comprehended exactly as it is written. It's NOT supposed to (and for that reason, not going to) teach you when and how to play around these mistakes/problems and how to solve them. It may not be very useful and helpful but it gives you an understanding of key things you should be focusing on and things to avoid doing in order to improve. Explaining every bit of this video and more specifically the ideas behind it would take atleast a good 30 minutes (if not more if we focus on every detail and go in-depth generally). I find it to have more of an entertaining purpose really.

    TLDR Version:
    #1 Don't die - It will put you behind
    #2 Don't give up - It's hard to comeback if you give up
    #3 Make correct decisions - Give up that tower if you can't defend it etc.
    #4 Don't waste time, every second counts, you need to be doing something that is causing your team to win, e.g. warding, farming, getting a gank off
    #5 Plan ahead for objectives etc.
    #6 Don't let negative teammates affect you, mute if needed
    #7 Have a plan for teamfights, eg. peel for adc, kill enemy midlaner, stop kata ulti etc.
    #8 Don't do bad recalls e.g. those that miss cs
    #9 Don't blame/flame teammates ofc!
    #10 Practice league a lot

  • @emperorehryn2370
    @emperorehryn2370 9 років тому

    If you start to fall behind in team fights and everything, quit engaging the enemy team. If an engage is being forced, poke as much as you can before hand. ADCs like Varus, Lucian, Miss Fortune, all have great long range AD pokes while champs like Lux, Xerath, Vel, have great AP pokes. A champion with half HP is a lot less likely to engage your team, or at least is easier to burst down afterwards. Favorable
    Junglers should be able to take dragon at any given notice. Dragon gives a huge advantage in a teams damage output, pushing, movement speed, and if you happen to get 5 dragon stacks then that advantage is doubled. That being said, it's the other teams duty to come to the jungler's aid if he's being invaded. Champs like Shaco, Fiddle, Nunu, Udyr, all like to invade and can make it difficult for your jungler. But if they get caught in your jungle they're basically free kills if you act quick enough.
    A good support is dictated by their skillset. You actually have to be useful for your adc in lane and carries late game. In lane, you want to be able to poke for your ADC. Champs like Sona and Nami are great for exchanging pokes because of their ability to heal themselves immediately after anyway, allowing for you to widdle them down to a more favorable fight. Also a good support should have utility in their skillset. Champions like Thresh, Leona, Blitz, and Nami, have multiple stuns and disrupts to help lock down an enemy champion. A pull or knock up or stun are great for slowing down retreating enemies, or slowing down gankers in lane.
    If you're going to play a high burst champ, build damage. Your job is to get in and kill one, maybe even 2 of their squishier champs, as quickly as possible. A good Zed or Kha can take out a squishy ADC or APC in a split second.
