I like that the vortex type grenades all have their own identity with the change to solar grenades - Vortexes pull enemies in, Duskfields slow more than they damage, and now Solars also spew smaller fires. With that change Sunbracers will be really fun to use now that I think about it lol
I can’t wait to see the many different aspects were going to get over the course of the next few years. The idea of aspects changing your subclasses play style is easily the best thing Bungie has added to Destiny.
From a lore perspective, I personally find it interesting that the Solar Aspects appear to be in the form of physical objects, similar to the the Stasis Aspects, whereas the Void Aspects were more intangible in nature.
Tbh it could have just been a time thing, the 2D guys maybe only had time to whip up some purple swirls for WQ but now they're returning to the weird physical 'Talismans'/'Fetish' (the non-dirty definition) theme for the rest.
Hallowfire Heart gonna be fun this season, especially with aspects and fragments reducing cooldowns. Titans gonna have a field day with both Ad clear and boss DPS.
This commentary feels a lot more balanced imo. I don't want to give out my feelings on the Hunter class yet, but this looks promising and it may make me want to main solar hunter again.

Seeing how good the updates for Void and Solar have been makes me extremely excited for Arc 3.0, as a Missile Titan main. I don't know what they could even add, for me personally, but I enjoy the updates very much. Seeing them lean into the identities of the elements is fun.

Solar 3.0 looks amazing. As someone who loved Hunter’s Way of the Pathfinder as it used to be with Lockdown/Combat Provision and Heart of the Pack, I had some fun with the new Nightstalker but I really missed the old one. I was scared Gunslinger was going to have the same thing happen to it, losing some of their identity with their buffs in favour of focusing on some debuffing niche or just all fire in some way. But from what I’ve seen new Gunslinger looks like they haven’t lost nearly as much as Nightstalker did and I’m really happy about that. Now I just hope weighted knife is the same as it was or better. Easily my favourite part of Way of the Sharpshooter

i’ll be honest, i don’t like how the new heal-nades are just healing. Before you could choose wether to be offensive or risk the extra seconds to be defensive and try and heal you and/or teammates. Sure more options for all classes but less options during gameplay.

Ultrakill has made me spoiled lmao, I'd love to see the Hunter Grenade have different radiuses depending on which weapon you shoot it with. Like at the bottom of the spectrum is an Auto Rifle or Sidearm bullet and at the complete other end are like Izanagis or LFR shots
So Gunpowder gamble is literally Ashe's Dynamite ability from Overwatch, so I can't give much credit to them for coming up with it. That said it does fit extremely with the Hunter style and its a pretty decent addition to their solar kit.

Incinerator snap letting warocks cosplay as Roy mustang is the actual biggest improvement in destiny history though, Roy was that guy in FMA and to have such a classy attack thrown in, it makes me cry😭

One of my biggest pains as a Warlock. I want to be damage dealer, but I’m not allowed to outside of low level content. Even with void 3.0 the focus for warlock is suppression and weakening 😢 But at least now I can do cool stuff in well too.

Anyone else noticed the additional items in the Hunter and warlock class ability slots. I think the new empowering leap is a new dodge and Icarus dash and or Phoenix Dive are replacing the rift in the slot
If the phoenix dive does damage as well as the heal then I am fine with that. Would make it more fun to use besides getting free heals when not able to rift.

They swapped knock em down with a new name, so knock em down is a super based aspect rather than a precision one. The handling part is still there though
I’m actually really excited to see the changes they bring in arc 3.0. I’d love for them to turn mid tree arc staff deflect into an ability and replace the super with an updated bladedancer.
I love all of this update except for two of three warlock aspects being about air combat. I don’t find air combat fun which means I kind of just waste an aspect slot which doesn’t really feel great on a class I love so much.
I think it's gonna be tough for Warlocks, the 3 classes were pretty unique in how they played. Obviously custom classes are better but i don't think we are going to have the absolute best of both worlds for Warlocks. I do think Titan's and Hunters will though, as some of the Hunter/Titan solar subclasses were pretty crappy and easy to combine, the 2 Golden Gun classes were an absolute mess imo, were not fun at all.
@@Perkustin If warlocks get to run a mix of healing and pyro builds then that is good enough for me. Like being able to slap out healing nades while blasting a mob of enemies with the finger snap. Looked like the phoenix dive got changed somehow too, so hopefully it does damage outside of super to some extent.
As a top tree and middle tree warlock solar main I'm so excited for this, I'm going to be able to Icarus dash AND heal. Also I am totally making a melee build for that finger snap
I have mixed feelings on Solar now that it’s dropped. Bungie, on the super off chance that you ever read this, stop taking things out of the game, just add the new stuff in with our current toys. Things like Mortar Strike, Sun Warrior (the damage buff was good, that wasn’t the problem with Lorely), Playing with Fire, Benevolent Dawn (not having to choose between a healing grenade and a damage grenade, just having both). I like what’s been added, but it comes at the cost of some of my favorite things, a lot like what happened with Void. Oh and also, please, tune the exotics better around the changes. No Backup Plans is actually garbage with Void 3, and I think Lorely suffered a similar fate. It was an issue, but it was a cool idea, but now it’s trash in PvP and pve.
@@forg4308 I do, especially now after really reading the notes and seeing how much they ROBBED from Solar Titan. Everything that made it special was either nerfed into the ground or outright taken away. Hunter got unequivocally loved too, so it makes it way worse to see.
Titan will be the best pve solar subclass overall, the damage of abilities from roaring flames along with the ability regeneration and restoration of sunsots and the weakness applying aspect of the hammer strike melee ability. Im in love.
Dude you could also give buff to your teammates with exotic leg armor phoenix cradle, giving sunspots longer duration and it effects the entire team, i cant wait for builds to come out

I'm guessing the dodge will be around the same cooldown time as a rift.
It showed some gun buff that hunters can do so their new dodge probably applies that to allies

I love the fact that they’re really driving us into this, pick your element power fantasy where people who really really embrace a play style and theme can feel good about logging on, solar and stasis is always my favorite elements so this season is gonna be amazing
Incinerator snap letting warocks cosplay as Roy mustang is the actual biggest improvement in destiny history though, Roy was that guy in FMA and to have such a classy attack thrown in, it makes me cry😭

One of my biggest pains as a Warlock. I want to be damage dealer, but I’m not allowed to outside of low level content. Even with void 3.0 the focus for warlock is suppression and weakening 😢
But at least now I can do cool stuff in well too.
Hey, at least with solar 3.0 the only thing you have to give up to be on well is the super, otherwise you get to keep all your cool abilities!
We may be stuck in a well as warlocks, but we can still spam finger snaps and molten aoes with the ability regen amped up.

Anyone else noticed the additional items in the Hunter and warlock class ability slots. I think the new empowering leap is a new dodge and Icarus dash and or Phoenix Dive are replacing the rift in the slot
Yeah 100%. The hunters leap just looks too much like a dodge.
If the phoenix dive does damage as well as the heal then I am fine with that. Would make it more fun to use besides getting free heals when not able to rift.

They swapped knock em down with a new name, so knock em down is a super based aspect rather than a precision one. The handling part is still there though
I’m actually really excited to see the changes they bring in arc 3.0. I’d love for them to turn mid tree arc staff deflect into an ability and replace the super with an updated bladedancer.
I love all of this update except for two of three warlock aspects being about air combat. I don’t find air combat fun which means I kind of just waste an aspect slot which doesn’t really feel great on a class I love so much.
I like how Both warlock and Titan showcases have that fantasy esque element to it, then there are hunters. . . .3 ductaped tripmine grenades.

i really hope that they manage to reinvent solar while simultaneously retaining the things people love about it right now.
I think it's gonna be tough for Warlocks, the 3 classes were pretty unique in how they played. Obviously custom classes are better but i don't think we are going to have the absolute best of both worlds for Warlocks. I do think Titan's and Hunters will though, as some of the Hunter/Titan solar subclasses were pretty crappy and easy to combine, the 2 Golden Gun classes were an absolute mess imo, were not fun at all.
Seems like they did so for warlocks by keeping healing, burn, and explosions as a thing.
@@Perkustin If warlocks get to run a mix of healing and pyro builds then that is good enough for me. Like being able to slap out healing nades while blasting a mob of enemies with the finger snap. Looked like the phoenix dive got changed somehow too, so hopefully it does damage outside of super to some extent.

I have mixed feelings on Solar now that it’s dropped. Bungie, on the super off chance that you ever read this, stop taking things out of the game, just add the new stuff in with our current toys. Things like Mortar Strike, Sun Warrior (the damage buff was good, that wasn’t the problem with Lorely), Playing with Fire, Benevolent Dawn (not having to choose between a healing grenade and a damage grenade, just having both).
I like what’s been added, but it comes at the cost of some of my favorite things, a lot like what happened with Void. Oh and also, please, tune the exotics better around the changes. No Backup Plans is actually garbage with Void 3, and I think Lorely suffered a similar fate. It was an issue, but it was a cool idea, but now it’s trash in PvP and pve.

I do, especially now after really reading the notes and seeing how much they ROBBED from Solar Titan. Everything that made it special was either nerfed into the ground or outright taken away. Hunter got unequivocally loved too, so it makes it way worse to see.
Can’t wait to return to my chain weighted knife build and being able to use the pvp golden gun. Solar rework gonna make me act up.

Titan will be the best pve solar subclass overall, the damage of abilities from roaring flames along with the ability regeneration and restoration of sunsots and the weakness applying aspect of the hammer strike melee ability. Im in love.
Dude you could also give buff to your teammates with exotic leg armor phoenix cradle, giving sunspots longer duration and it effects the entire team, i cant wait for builds to come out
