Try not to ignore that Nicki's grammy performance received backlash for good reason. Right after Whitney Houston's unexpected death, while people were still emotional about it, Nicki somehow found it appropriate to act out dying on stage and becoming possessed. It was horribly distasteful, nobody remembers it because it sucked, and it isn't rewatchable. It doesn't justify them blackballing her and denying her the meaningless award, but it feels like a detail that shouldn't be neglected in the story since the horrendous performance is where this all started.
Why would they wait until the last minute to tell her though? Its like if you were about to launch a product and the company supports your work up until the last minute - that’s foul on their part. Nicki's perspective makes sense to me regarding the Grammys. Latto asked her to not mention her name or song title to prove her point but in countless interviews; however, Latto mentioned Nicki. Nicki is neither jealous nor bitter about these new female rappers. Whenever they wanted to boost their popularity, they used her as a feature.

It’s poetic that Nicki finds herself in the same position as Lil Kim was all those years ago. It’s easy to be a mean and dismissive when you’re the new girl on the block. Not so much when you’re 40 and your public image is declining. Ageism is very real, especially in the entertainment industry. But the problem is that Nicki refuses to mature gracefully and instead insists on competing and arguing with girls half her age. Here's the thing, the grammys are very aware Nicki unfollowed latto. So by removing SFG, and not BE, especially when they both give pop was definitely messed up. Nicki wasn't coming for latto, she was addressing the GRAMMYS. As to why they removed her song and not BE when it's the same genre. She spoke about BE because it was the ONLY song in the catagory which was the same pop feel as SFG. So it's why she used that song as her reference. Try not to ignore that Nicki's grammy performance received backlash for good reason. Right after Whitney Houston's unexpected death, while people were still emotional about it, Nicki somehow found it appropriate to act out dying on stage and becoming possessed. It was horribly distasteful, nobody remembers it because it sucked, and it isn't rewatchable. It doesn't justify them blackballing her and denying her the meaningless award, but it feels like a detail that shouldn't be neglected in the story since the horrendous performance is where this all started.
Why would they wait until the last minute to tell her though? Its like if you were about to launch a product and the company supports your work up until the last minute - that’s foul on their part.

My thoughts at the end of all this: Understand that just because you are talented and skilled doesn't mean that others will recognize said skill and talent in the manner of which they really should. I agree with Nicki about the Grammys part but I also see why Latto spoke up because like she said she’s been ignoring all the shady stuff the media has twisted & they did have a conversation which we did not here. And yeah other artist don’t speak up sometimes but everybody’s different. Latto was speaking up bc maybe she’s tired of the situation on top of Nicki mentioning her & they had a conversation but then Nicki decided to hop on live & bring it to the public but when Latto goes on twitter she’s in the wrong? And Nicki didn’t have to post there messages & dragging the issue onto Latto when wasn’t this whole thing about the Grammys? That Nicki didn’t care about? And Latto recording that conversation was actually smart considering Nicki history with bullying & falling out with other female artists. Nicki is what 40? Yet it seems like she’s always getting into drama with younger female rappers which overshadows her music. Nicki is very talented woman but she just seems messy & like all new female rappers are supposed to bow down to her. But could be me being biased since I think she’s overrated but you don’t see Beyoncé, Toni Braxton, Mariah Carey, Queen Latifah, or Lauryn Hill being messy all over a little golden award that shouldn’t put value in YOUR art. It seems like this generation of music mostly about drama that really bring in the sales. Latto was just defending herself but honestly could’ve just ignored Nicki & Nicki was being a bully again & just needs to stop addressing unnecessary things like this & be mature & move on.

I think the industry is always gonna try to make sure female artist have beef with Nicki and vice versa. Imagine if they were all cool with her long enough to learn how to play the game the way she did, they wouldn’t be able to control them and make money off of them the same way. It’s like all the artists are in narcissistic relationships with their label. The label keeps them isolated from people that could show them how to take actual power back in the industry.

Ageism is very real, especially in the entertainment industry. But the problem is that Nicki refuses to mature gracefully and instead insists on competing and arguing with girls half her age. I feel that artists should adapt and grow with their music and audience.

Neither one of them has anything to prove at this point in their career. Nicki has released the best selling female rap song this year and it’s a stable hit having been in the top 10 for nine weeks now after debuting at number 1. Nicki has clearly proven at 39 age is nothing but a number these other girls can’t sell higher than in first week sales (39K).

It seems like they are trying to sabotage her chances of winning again but I think she definitely finally deserves a Grammy!! She has been snubbed over and over by them!! She was blackballed and that is so unfair!! If any female hip-hop artist deserves one it's her because she has worked extremely hard and has broken countless records!! Here's the thing, the grammys are very aware Nicki unfollowed latto. So by removing SFG, and not BE, especially when they both give pop was definitely messed up. Nicki wasn't coming for latto, she was addressing the GRAMMYS. As to why they removed her song and not BE when it's the same genre. She spoke about BE because it was the ONLY song in the catagory which was the same pop feel as SFG. So it's why she used that song as her reference. I felt like Nicki was fighting for equality which would affect future songs across the board. The back and forth and leaking the call was completely messed up and uncalled for. But latto really went overboard when she attacked Nicki's family. They were both throwing shots about music and tweets. So latto going to that level was disgusting af.

I agree with most of the video, but a few things that get me
- sure we can't prove Nicki subbing a specific person but she's still subbing. She likes these tweets and actively acts passive aggressive, when you play that game don't blame others for not understanding your true target or intention because there is a target for subs
- I do think Nicki has a right to direct some energy to Latto because Latto is allowing herself to be a pawn of the ones who pull the strings. Yes the Grammys are mostly to be blamed but Latto is compromising integrity for fame and the bag and I know you gotta play the game to move up, but these are the consequences
