I think there could be a bit of tension between Zygarde and Rayquaza, cause as we all know that Rayquaza doesnt like people being in his territory, and the ultimate weapon was fired from Kalos into space(back to Earth) so, I think Rayquaza might visit Kalos, to give Big Boss Z a check.

A neat integral part of this theory to think about is that Rayquaza is Dragon/Flying and Zygard is Dragon/Ground, respective counterparts to what they are guarding.

Imagine Legends Z-A was called Legends Z-Delta. Everyone would’ve freaked out even more when it was revealed because Pokemon Z and Delta Emerald are both happening at once.

We may actually be getting both. The Delta Episode was pretty neat, but this game could go all-in on both of these games that we never got. At the least, I already expect Rayquaza to be involved in some way with Mega Evolution.

One of my first thoughts, the scale patterns on the “A” and the fact that Rayquaza was integral to the mega evolution story made me believe that it would be a big part of the new game.

I've always paired Rayquaza with Zygarde sort of as brothers in a sense. One of the earth, one of the sky, both bringing balance. I've had this headcanon for YEARS
So if this is true this is gonna be some of the coolest shit to me

Rayquaza Dragon / FLYING is the protector of the Sky

Specifically, it’s the protector of the Ecosystem (if the dex is anything to go off of), so you could make a hypothetical geography quartet out of the super ancients and Zygarde with the Hydrosphere, Lithosphere, Biosphere and Atmosphere as Kyogre, Groudon, Zygarde and Rayquaza respectively.

@@It-Will-All-Be-Okay-I-Promise It could be possible but we don’t know it for sure as there wasn’t a Pokemon Z, a sister game to X and Y, where Zygarde fulfills it’s role as mediator between Xerneas and Yveltal when they fight. And the third version of Platinum, Giratina was supposed to be the same as the plot of Pokémon Emerald, Giratina stopping Dialga’s and Palkia’s fight after you awakened it with no Distortion World or Origin Forn but they scrapped the idea as it would be too similar to it. And Rayquaza wasn’t even supposed to be the mediator, despite it’s Pokédex Entry, it was made canon due to the Pokémon Manga so people thought that Rayquaza was lazy in Pokémon Ruby and Pokémon Sapphire where Groudon (Ruby) or Kyogre (Sapphire) were awakened until Pokémon Emerald came. In the Pokémon Manga, Xerneas and Yveltal fought and I hope this will happen in Pokémon Legends Z-A so Zygarde can do its role of protecting the ecosystem.
Interestingly, Z-A are the first and last letters of the English alphabet, Alpha(Sapphire) and Omega(Ruby) are the first and last letters of the Greek alphabet. Definitely on to something here.

@@Kyublitz i've been thinking this since the official pronunciation was revealed. makes so much more sense than "Zed-A" or "Z to A", especially considering OMEGA Ruby and ALPHA Sapphire had the DELTA episode. also of note, Zeta is the 6th letter of the Greek alphabet, and Kalos was introduced in the 6th generation. if Rayquaza really is what the A/Delta in the logo represents, they honestly couldn't have picked a better name to tie all of these elements together

This was my very first thought when the game was announced!
The green A brought the Rayquaza’s Delta symbol to my mind immediately (which wasn’t just straight up triangle), and the patterns people seem to call ”roots” looked scales to me further indicating the Dragon scales of Rayquaza.
Furthermore the points you also mentioned here, Rayquaza being the first Mega ever (that was definitely confirmed somewhere [Lucario thus being retconned]) + the fact AZ was withnessing Rayquaza’s mega evolution and has connection to it.. receipe for something great for sure!

This is the 42nd video on a game that has no gameplay revealed. At an average of ten minutes per video, that’s 420 minutes or 7 hours worth of content on, like a said, a game that doesn’t even have gameplay yet. That’s insanely impressive.

Isn't there also speculation the game will be underground and even in sky?
@@muzza2743 It wouldn't surprise me if there was since the first legend game was inspired by Breath of the Wild and if Rayquaza is in the game you might battle it in the sky, the underground section though is something that I am really sure is going in the game since Paris is know for it's underground coctombs.
That is a good idea but Zygarde’s role is to protect the ecosystem, not stopping the city from being built unless the redevelopment of the city is destroying the ecosystem, though I have to admit that this is a really good idea. It reminds of the Rayquaza in Pokémon Mystery Dungeon Blue Rescue Team where Rayquaza is so defiant on unchanged things since it believes that denizens of the ground should stay at the ground and that beings of the sky should stay in the sky and tries to punish the team for defying the laws of nature.
The title could also mean something else,
The first letter "Z" is to represent the first letter in zygarde and
The last letter "A" is to represent the last letter in rayquaza and
that symbol resembles a "Quazar" which relates it to rayQuaza
Personally, I think Legends ZA will take place a few centuries after the ultimate weapon was fired and Kalos is still rebuilding. Also, I could imagine Rayquaza being brought in because I mean, AZ did fire a giant laser into the stratosphere, effectively shooting into Rayquaza's home

Think about it like this, so Rayquazza doesn't need a trainer to mega evolve, but what if its not an actual mega. As you said the symbol on Rayquazas under head is the delta symbol, so it would make sense for it to be this delta mega (hypothetically in this scenario it still has the mega status, but its not a full status), delta mega Rayquaza; which wpuld also explain why it also has the delta stream ability
I would assume the A in ZA is Delta. As in Delta Stream (M Rayquaza ability) or ORAS’ Delta Episode. I think there’s a tie in with Gen 6 being XY games and ORAS with the two
Unrelated but Another thing is Gen 6 (both XY and ORAS) has mentions of the Draconid people (Drasna and Zinnia) maybe we will get more info on them in Legends ZA
i definitely think Rayquaza will be involved in this story especially when you also can consider the fact that Shiny Rayquaza is Black and Shiny Zygarde is White. And i know certain people will start loving and understanding THAT reference greatly. Lmao. Not to mention...if Rayquaza is actually involved in the story, then it could give off vibes similar to WWE Judgment Day 1998 where The Undertaker battled Kane for the WWE Championship and the special guest referee was Stone Cold Steve Austin...and for us as the main character, WE are essentially in the role of Steve Austin! There is plasma and high-energy radiation everywhere in space. These come from the sun from other galactic or cosmic sources or through ionization of atoms and molecules in the earth's upper atmosphere, perhaps he charges his organ through the radioactivity in the atmosphere and can become Mega Rayquaza

Not gonna lie, I was a little nervous when T-Tar was getting set to say what Delta meant, but he pulled through!
I like this theory and here’s how it can work:
Zygarde being a guardian of earth is a parallel to Rayquaza being guardian of the skies/stars (dragon/ground and dragon/flying) but if zygarde guards the natural order on land why didn’t it intervene son groundon and kyogre? I think because it wasn’t created yet. AZ clearly witnessed Rayquazas power in stopping the world from ending, he could have used Rayquaza as the catalyst for inventing not only mega evolution but also zygarde who would be like a clone of Rayquaza.
We know kalos has a background of dna altering and zygarde just flat out looks like a collection of cells taking form, I think this would be a cool storyline and could also explain how the war started based on conflict of opinions in the dna splicing technology and mega evolutions
What if there is a new form where Zygard cells merge with Mega Rayquaza to 100% form around Rayquaza as something like an Armor and combines their abilities but enhances it at the same time? That would be crazy OP, but could explain that it was necessary at that time to save the world from total destruction of some sort.
AZ build weapon powered by life-force of pokemon, shot the laser in the sky, laser infused meteorites with life-energy, meteors fall on earth as Mega Stones... it also happens that Rayquaza eats meteors and also got infused by life-energy and now is able to mega-evolve.
We should rewatch the mega Evolution special, see if there's any clues.

What if the "enemy" in the game is deoxys BECAUSE when you encounter deoxys it first takes the form of the delta symbol on Birth island
And to add to this theory and make it more fun, deoxys could get a new "mega" form that is so strong that zygarde and Rayquaza need to work together

What if, Zygarde is the Balancer of life and death, since he makes sure Yveltal and Xerneas don't go to far.

A thought occurred to me: if Rayquaza protects the skies of the world and Zygarde protects the surface(land) of the world, will we ever get a legendary dragon Pokémon that protects the waters of the world? Or do we already have it? I know we have the mythical Manaphy that is the prince of the sea, Kyogre, and Lugia who is the guardian of the seas. I know that it's a dragon that's not a Dragon type, but still.

The game will follow the story of Rayquaza eating its Mega Stone, Mega Evolving for the first time in history, and rampaging through the streets of a newly constructed Lumiose city. You set out to find Zygarde, the keeper of Order in the Pokémon World, in order to subdue the Chaos Rayquaza has been bringing to the Kalos region.

Also, when the weapon of destruction popped off, it messed with the O-zone Layer. Rayquaza, being the guardian of the O-zone layer must have been affected by it somehow.
The symbol from the logo exactly matches a Lambda (Λ) not a Delta (∆), so that's a big miss. However, I did see a connection in the fact that the Rayquaza and the Zygarde were in their shiny colors in the latest anime episode. Black vs White; Sky protector vs Land protector; mega evolution raises any stat but HP, Zygarde's complete form raises only its HP.

Also, crazy speculation, but what if the ultimate weapon firing into space is what drew the meteorite that struck Hoenn towards Earth? I mean, we know from the Delta Episode that the Meteor changed trajectory shortly after the Primal event we put a stop to. Maybe the Deoxys inside is drawn to the immense nature energy source? (The mural in Sky Pillar even depicts the meteor having Deoxys' face for some reason). It would also explain why AZ was in Hoenn in the first place, to bear witness to the calamity his weapon inadvertently caused...

I've only been saying this since the reveal trailer, but ok I guess that's not original enough. The difference is I actually presented more than baseless speculation.
I like that they are going to the Creation trio route with some of the Legendary trios right now. Now we wait how would this be intertwined with the Original Dragon.
It makes sense because Pokémon z and Pokemon delta emerald are the 2 gen 6 games we could’ve got but didn’t so it makes sense if they’re revisiting zygarde they would revisit both in one

The main plot in ZA is that you get zygarde early on in any sort of way,the plot involves getting zygarde from zero form to perfect zygarde,the A legendary is a brand new legendary and is actually being used in an evil way sort of like gratina,In the end you will have to use zygarde to stop this “evil” group that is using the new legendary but in the end having to lock it up because it is to powerful
The A is either an A/Alpha or a Lambda (what it actually looks like). Delta is a closed triangle… If it is Delta they’re just doing whatever. Maybe the Lambda shape is just a nod to following Z with the Greek alphabet, which is a thing people do (eg Gen Alpha after Gen Z).
Id argue that the meaning of Delta is closer to „Difference“ or „Gap“ and not „Change“ although I don’t know what to make of that.
"Z-Delta" would be a sequel to both X/Y AND OR/AS... Wild
Actually more likely than I initially thought now seeing it all put together like this. It’s honestly 50/50 on whether this is true in my mind now.
That make sense. After quickly Google the Delta logo. It actually is a Triangle which looks almost like the Z-A that A logo.

The Delta Symbol on Rayquaza is most likely the symbol on it's forehead, not the things coming out of it's jaws. It's a symbol that's shown directly on it's body like Primal Groudon and Kyogre.
Honestly I don't see it as an A because we already had Alpha and Omega used in the Greek Alphabet for Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire. Z-A would most likely be Z-Λ. Λ is the Greek symbol for Lambda. As for the dash/hyphen/tilde depending on which one it actually is it could represent anything from 'and', compounding/joining, or approximation meaning one thing as the same magnitude as another.
So with Z-Λ it would just mean there's some type of relationship between Zygarde and this mysterious Lambda Pokemon which may be a mythical Pokemon rather than any known legendaries. This would make more sense introducing a new mythical this way. First Legends focused on the mythical Arceus, and the second Legends would focus on an entirely new mythical rather than a mythical or legendary that already exists. Probably Yggdrasil.
However, if I am wrong, I do see there's a relationship between ORAS and this new Legends game. ORAS is Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire, taking the last letter of the Greek Alphabet and the first letter of the Greek Alphabet and combining them. What we have is Z-A, the last letter of the Roman Script and the first letter of the Roman Script (Roman Script is more commonly known as Latin Script today). The contrast is similar to a transition, like how Rome adapted Greek influences into their culture, writing, religion and etc before they incorporated the Greek Colonies into their empire. So it does well in symbolizing a redevelopment. Using the last letter before the first letter would also probably mean a rebirth or a cycle.
