Known as This is a scripted video. Something he puts time into apart from his normal streaming life. It's much more interesting than highlights from a stream in which he just fills his time playing the game. I disagree that streaming and such is ''shit content'', but it is definitely lower quality and less interesting than a video like this.
Blizzard intentionally putting in a meme into gameplay? Awesome xD Using an old meme even, that has "stood the test of time" and is still recognizable? xD xD
would be interesting to see what happens if he shadow-stepped Tess and played again. In the event that going from valera's HP to Dr Booms HP is causing the problem maybe going from Dr Boom to Dr Boom would reset and fix the problem.
I think you dont know the golden rule, for a card that needs an objective to create a card, if the objective is golden, that created card will be golden regardless if the actual card used is not golden
Super sheshin Well that random deathrattle part may not be correct... And I think he means becoming golden when used on a golden card? In that case I don't think they are supposed to become golden.
Blizzard, It's important to use these videos as a way of understanding certain interactions and using these opportunities to improve your QA Department. Don't Ban Toast for doing a better job than your QA Team. Thanks.
One positive thing that I saw from this expansion was how they're speeding up animations. The new rocket launcher mech pings the whole board at once instead of one at a time like many other cards do. And the new mega mind minion, doesn't stop to shine everytime its effect is used like a lifesteal minion might.
Doesn't he get a lot of bugs reported to him in chat, or find them on reddit? Thats not to insult what he does, because compiling them all in a single place is useful in itself. The thing is, they can only hire so many QA people and playtest for so many hours. With the size of HS's player base, the player base's man hours playing the game will very quickly overtake the man hours spent by the devs QA people. Basically, there isn't any way to guarantee the QA people will find every bugged interaction prerelease, and any bugs that slip through are almost guaranteed to be found by players eventually. Now the inconsistent application of key words and ambiguous phrasing of card text is another story. Theres no real excuse for that.
Ryan Smith blizz has gone on record saying they work like 2 expansions ahead so they have like 8 months to get this stuff figured out. Most card concepts are done early most likely with numbers being the only thing changed afterwards. Is this 4 mana or 5 mana? 3 attack or 2? Etc. Etc. The thing is these videos get recorded day of release. That means that within like 6 hours people are finding various bugs. Yes, the amount of people is much greater, but you should be theorycrafting ways to break the cards better than random people on the internet. Your job is LITERALLY to break the game as a QA and letting some more obvious things slip through like the dr boom one is honestly disappointing. I can somewhat give them some slack for biology project since it seems too random and is definitely a behind the scenes issue with the card itself. It's an unintended bug you cant predict. On Dr Boom in the collection it SHOWS the useless hero power as default so you should probably make sure it's not an option when played.
Amethonys How is the biology project interaction "too random", but the Dr. Boom one isn't? They both rely on a rogue randomly getting one specific card from their opponent. Therefore, they are both just as random.
5:20 I am almost certain it thinks you're filling up the board to 7. If you had a minion less, i think you would have one more loop going. Ofc im not sure but it rly looks like it. Love your channel !
Here is a question thou, if you only have umbra and morrigan on board, nothing in deck except 10 morrigans, then you kill the morrigan, how many loop do you get? I'm rather curious about whether the limit is some aribitary number or it have something to do with "something"
Its capped at three because: First one is logical you play it, Second one also because the deathrattle from the deck Third one because also from the deck but If you go to the fourth, the same minion from this turn already triggered its deathrattle from the deck this turn. My theory, could be totally wrong
yeah it seems like the original can't be brought out by it's own deathrattle because that would break the time-space continuum. Good job blizz!

To be fair, this interaction is better off being like it is now. If he didn't have the knife juggler, it would just be an infinite loop with no resolution
I'd rather it be like capped at like 8 interactions than 3 or something so you can have a little bit of fun... But yes, HS keeps tracks of infinite combos and puts a limit on them. Unlike Magic the Gathering or any other irl card game you can't 'stop' the combo as the game autopilots after you cast it.
its been less than a week and these are combinations that most ppl wound NEVER consider but uv already trialled them, tested them and then combined them into an vid...awesome work bro
2:55 Number 5 doesn't surprise me Livinig mana also just uses your "real" mana crystals and doesn't count the one which you got through innvervate, coin....
OKay I'm a little upset now. I would like for you to say ther IMPACT of some of the interactions working the way they do, or how you think they should work. NOT HOIW BLIZZARD INTENDED THEM, that's pure speculation. Rather, I wuld like you to ive your thoughts on how it works in the terms of balance etc.
Toast is the most important member of the technical staff at Blizzard.... to sad he doesn't get pait for doing their work. But intresting and informative and entertaining video, nonetheless.
re/Morrigan capped at 3, here are my thoughts: When they introduced the new way to implement deathrattle and battlecry, they said they snapshot the current state of whatever into a virtual state before executing the stack. Because there's only 2 morrigans in the virtual deck and they're moved to the actual deck (probably overwriting by card id), the board state seems to get snapshotted at the point where the first morrigan's deathrattle triggers (which then records "there are 3 morrigans in the virtal deck"), then the on-summon-trigger-deathrattle effects activate, pulling cards from the virtual deck until no more minions are left.
Hearthstone is programmed in C# and Unity, which means the code behind card interactions is heavily object-oriented. What people fail to understand is just how immeasurably difficult it is to properly conceptualize and organize the code behind all the different interactions, especially with the growing number and complexity of new card mechanics that have to use old code for abstract and new purposes that were never taken into account when the old card or game mechanic was initially programmed. When programming card interactions for new cards, just think how many unique scenarios programmers have to take into account with all the constantly growing effects of cards in hearthstone. Try to comprehend it. You probably cannot even begin to grasp just how difficult this stupid looking card game actually is to maintain and update consistently. It is easy to sit and complain, but in my opinion what they've done is already quite impressive. The game runs smoothly and these buggy scenarios probably occur once in a couple of million games.
We are not talking about how it is done. But how it is WRITTEN. If you write 'X' but the card does 'Y', because you intended to write 'Y', it's YOUR fault. Because you can't even be coherent in your wording. If i play a card game in which 'mana' might be interpreted in 5 completely different way, i will not enjoy it. It can't be enjoyed. Because i will see something, think 'hey, it's written like this so it should be working like that' and then BOOM. Nope, the authors meant something else but were too.. whatever, to write it differently so their intended effect would be clear and understood. It is not a programming error, it's a human one. And pretty big. VY Canis Majoris compared to our Sun, big.
Toast has it wrong - that error is far more complex than mana being misinterpreted, because it only occurs when the card costs 0. That means that in some way the amount of mana spent for the card as a variable is being used within the function that determines whether the card's battlecry is going to activate. This is probably necessary to have other interactions behave properly... every programmer hates it - there's a bug, you fix it, then your solution creates more bugs... it is a tremendous pain in the ass debugging things like this, or even predicting them...
On launch Morrigan didn't have that limitation. It was introduced in quick patch hour after release. But lets not act like 4 of the toptier decks are OTKs (maybe even 5 if someone refines malygos shaman).
But there is a solution for that already, just cap it at 14 like Defile. That way the game won't break, we can have some fun with crazy combos like that AND the interaction is more consistent
On the "Capped at 3 swapping" I think Toast was mentally going "It does need a cap to keep from doing exactly what I'm trying to do, but why was 3 the magic number?"
1. The biology project:I'm curious if casting biology project (or any project) will cause your combo's to deactivate 2. Blizzard needs to fix a tool tip 3. It's cool, keep this interaction 4. the acedemic espionage is working fine, the elekk is tell the tracker what's being put in the deck. 5. Blizzard and their text consistency 6.3 is arbitrary, but it's there so you don't go infinite 7.Battlecrys don't triger I guess the hero power stuff is attached to the battlecry ()programming wise)
Here's another: I have Stargazer Luna in play I play a Kirin Tor Mage (which is my right most card) I draw a Counterspell Counterspell costs zero because of Kirin Tor Mage, and it is the right most card in my hand I play it... and I don't draw a card?
The shuffling a double into your deck interaction is actually as advertised. The minion's passive shows the cards on the left side of the screen. The deck display tool just read that information from the list.
Nah. We joke about it, but nah. He only goes to Blizzard Jail for showing an exploit. bugs and weird interactions are fine and most likely encouraged. Blizzard wants to know if there are bugs in their games so they can fix it. An exploit is a bug that can be used to win against an opponent time and time again. This is not to be confused with combos.
With the shuffle rogue interaction - you'll notice on the left bar it tells you what you shuffled a copy of, hence you know what it is, hence the tracker tracks it
*When an asian youtuber knows your own game interactions better than you* should be the title. Honestly, I don't even think the bug testers know what they're doing......
No. It swapped 3 times. Feel free to watch it again, and watch Druids health for reference. Starts at 10 ends up at 6, that is 4 health difference = initial play + 3 swaps. But if it swapped 7 times when you tried, it is just some weird blizz spaggeti code.

Umbra's deathrattle triggers are (obvious from this interaction) implemented so that each entity (minion)'s deathrattle gets activated at most once during a turn. The swapped Dr. Morrigan's deathrattle already activated that turn, so Umbra didn't activate it again.
Rafi Uddin exactly, you are not suposed to see what cards espinage shuffled yet if you use eleek and the decktracker, you can see what was shuffled, sure maybe if you know your own deck is not that bad, but what if your does the same, and your decktracker shows what your oponnent shuffled?
Rafi Uddin He's right too. Both decktracker and sidebar weren't supposed to show the cards. It was like the first animation of Dead Man's Hand, the cards appeared on side bar too.
MASTERHAENIR no, he's not. If it shows in turn history it is not hidden information and so getting it from deck-tracker is not cheating. It's Activision-Blizzard bug
Possibly the Omega Defender only works if you have 10 mana crystals at the start of a turn, so if you use multiple innervate early on, you can use the Omega defender earlier.
So my buddy and I found out that if you play Lynessa Sunsorrow and then she performs Shadow Step, she'll go back into the player's hand but the animation will still show for the other player. If you keep playing Lynessa over and over again, you can blind the other player's board. It's kinda hard to do in a couple of turns but if you do it like 15-20 times, they can't see anything but highlights.
The reason spell slinger and Dr.Morrigan only swapped 3 times, is because it all happened at once, their effects happened all at the same time, so hence when the first one got drawn again, it's effect had already triggered, so it would not trigger again. In simple terms, it only got placed on the board once according to the game.
2:46 you are supposed to see this, look at the history bar on the left, the augmented elek has a huge trigger history and notice how decktracker only shows 1 copy of all the rogue cards (the cards given by augmented elek)
When Flark's Boom-Zooka pulls out Witch's Cauldron last, even if the 2 other minions die before the Cauldron after their attack on bigger enemies, you won't get your Shaman spells. It will probably work the same way for Cult Master
Hey Toast interesting interactions you might like , playing a magnetic minion that has taunt as the buff will activate the warrior quest , also after using the magnetic buff will Xlid is out will summon a copy as well as
Hey Toast, I found a new OTK combo for Shaman. Double Fire Plum Harbinger than next turn Murmuring Elemental + Electra Stormsurge + Eureka = 4 Malygos on the board. Than double Lightning Bolt and you won.
Actually you don't directly see what academic espionage shuffled to your deck. What you see is the cards that Augmented Elekk shuffled your deck. As a result you know what academic espionage shufled to your deck of course
Innervate gaining a mana crystal would be disastrous with living mana. Turn 3 double innervate living mana = 5 2/2s and, eventually, a passive nourish ramp.
You just know blizzard fired their QA team beforehand and just twiddle their thumbs in anticipation of Toast's video to tell them what's wrong every expansion.
Did you know? Mecha'thun's effect CAN still trigger even if you have a Permanent object on your side the board, such as a dormant The Darkness, or Warlock's quest reward Nether Portal.
Blizzard's designer 1: So, what happens if you play Dr.boom -> Valeera -> Tessa? Blizzard's designer 2: Stupid idea, who on earth will even try to play all those 3 cards in the same deck? Blizzard's designer 1: Disguised Toast? Blizzard's designer 2: Hmm... Big Red Button to troll him? Blizzard's designer 1: Agreed
I have to imagine the Dr. Morrigan issue is quite intentional. 1.) Blizzard tends to shy away from infinite anything. (This is why Defile stops after 15 iterations when it could go on forever if conditions are right). 2.) There's probably a pretty broken combo if it was allowed to go more than 3 iterations. Dunno what it is, but the "norm" is to stop these types of things at 15.
If you play Dreampetal Florist, and it hits Flobbidinous Floop, it changes its cost to 0, but if you then play another minion, making Flobbidinous Floop change in that minion, its cost changes back to 4.
About a the omega 10 mana crystal, the wild groth never worked on that situation too, when you play WG in 10 mana you get the mana exceed, if you innervate (old times on 8+2) with 9 mana, didnt give you the extra card draw. never did.
I think Dr. Morrigan only worked 3 times because the game counts that you put 3 more minions in the board in total, so thinking that the board is full, before actually reading it as the minion getting off the board.
I believe the Umbra and Dr. Morrigan works 3 times because you had like 3 'active' Morrigans. You had 2 in your deck and 2 on the board. You triggered the battelcry from one which was on the board. It remembers its deathrattle as 'shuffled' and shuffles itself into the deck. I believe this was implemented back then,so you could not get the same Minion you swapped, back on the board . The new one gets its state as well and looks in the deck which one has not the shuffled state. So it chooses the 3th Morrigan and swaps it out. The 3th one now triggers the deathrattle, thanks to umbra, but cant find any minion ready to shuffle back, since every morrigan in the deck has the state : shuffled. - - >The solution for this problem would be to remove the 'shuffled' state after the exchange was a success and before every battlecry triggers. This shows the same pattern when the first swap was implemented in hs with the jade release.
Just realized I have "8" in the opening title when there's 7 interactions.
Math is hard.
Disguised Toast really interesting video. Nice seeing a science video like this!
Are you a hearthstone dev? Or why the inconsistency
Disguised Toast oof
the title is the 8th broken interation
I really love these vids! keep it on!
Toast should be hired by this small indie company

Can someone please explain to me why everyone is saying "Small Indie Company"?
Its a joke because blizzard is the opposite of that in reality

I think dr morrigan was intended cuz when u have umbra+ dr morrigan and no knife juggler the game stalls forever
Rils2 It only stalls when you have exactly dr morrigan as the only minion in your deck, which actually takes quite a bit of setup.

1. The biology project:I'm curious if casting biology project (or any project) will cause your combo's to deactivate
2. Blizzard needs to fix a tool tip
3. It's cool, keep this interaction
4. the acedemic espionage is working fine, the elekk is tell the tracker what's being put in the deck.
5. Blizzard and their text consistency
6.3 is arbitrary, but it's there so you don't go infinite
7.Battlecrys don't triger I guess the hero power stuff is attached to the battlecry ()programming wise)
Toast getting Blizzard's QA fired again :p
5:32 Dr.boom and Tess results in Hunter Hero power*
Here's another:
I have Stargazer Luna in play
I play a Kirin Tor Mage (which is my right most card)
I draw a Counterspell
Counterspell costs zero because of Kirin Tor Mage, and it is the right most card in my hand
I play it... and I don't draw a card?
it is not a minion, stargazer only work with minions
Raemuo Walter No, it says right-most CARD.
The shuffling a double into your deck interaction is actually as advertised. The minion's passive shows the cards on the left side of the screen. The deck display tool just read that information from the list.
TOAST GOES BACK TO BLIZZARD JAIL IN 3...2...1... ....
I hope not
But it's probably coming
This is not to be confused with combos.
the floop azalina thing makes sense in the context of the recent copy buffs
the copy you received keeps the "buff" of the transformation
Good music!
5:20 Blizzard can go through an infinite loop in just 3 iterations! Eat your heart out, Chuck Norris!
You can Floop in my Gloop
Hey toast u forgot about interaction number 9- flobbidinous floop is somehow glitched into every top tier deck
"How did this get past QA?"
-The Lich King
2:58 This also applies when playing innervate and living mana at turn 4. You only end up getting 4 Treants instead of 5.
1 Minute after the release
?
kloklon1 i opened the video 1 minute after it was uploaded
With the shuffle rogue interaction - you'll notice on the left bar it tells you what you shuffled a copy of, hence you know what it is, hence the tracker tracks it
*When an asian youtuber knows your own game interactions better than you* should be the title. Honestly, I don't even think the bug testers know what they're doing......
4:19 Thats how u dab like a legend xD
Banned. Again.
This is my favourite kind of Hearthstone content
In Hysteria's video Dr. Morrigan swapped 7 times, so it's not capped at 3.
I think it has to do with with the maximum action limit that got introduced with patron. Hysteria didn't have a knife juggler on the board did he?
This is the video I’ve been waiting for
So, decktracker is cheating now?
Super sheshin no, look at his history bar, it shows the shuffled cards
Rafi Uddin exactly, you are not suposed to see what cards espinage shuffled yet if you use eleek and the decktracker, you can see what was shuffled, sure maybe if you know your own deck is not that bad, but what if your does the same, and your decktracker shows what your oponnent shuffled?
you can see the cards it shuffles in the turn history.
Rafi Uddin
He's right too.
S M A L L I N D I E C O M P A N Y
????????
Jesus that intro threw me back for a loop
WoW 4 min and 135 likes.
I dont know why people like watch this video x2 speed. Its craizy!!
nah, but it's original toast content. i like that vid before i even watch it, bc i know it's good
kloklon1 "Craizy" right?
So my buddy and I found out that if you play Lynessa Sunsorrow and then she performs Shadow Step, she'll go back into the player's hand but the animation will still show for the other player. If you keep playing Lynessa over and over again, you can blind the other player's board. It's kinda hard to do in a couple of turns but if you do it like 15-20 times, they can't see anything but highlights.
@6:29 I was expecting to hear "WTF BOOM". I miss that meme.
I mean, that last one would very much fit the mad doctor, having a button that does nothing when pushed
2:00 Easy to explain: The Minions are quantum entangled. It just works the way it should :-D
floop is also displayed as zerus in the hs deck tracker when watching games back
"You dont need a testers, when you have Disguised Toast" - Blizzard 2018
Blizz needs to hire Toast as their QA.
5:58 Killer Queen Reference
When Flark's Boom-Zooka pulls out Witch's Cauldron last, even if the 2 other minions die before the Cauldron after their attack on bigger enemies, you won't get your Shaman spells. It will probably work the same way for Cult Master
"Blizzard, if you intended this... WHY?"...LOL
I literally cracked up every time that damn song played
The Augmented Elekk one could be seen as an exploit so send y'all prayers to Toast
This is why I like Toast. The Experimenter!
Hey Toast interesting interactions you might like , playing a magnetic minion that has taunt as the buff will activate the warrior quest , also after using the magnetic buff will Xlid is out will summon a copy as well as
The Azalina + Floop and Tess + Dr. Boom are pretty gamebreaking.
Tbf, the Dr. Morrigan combo is pretty hard to code because of the halting problem, but having a larger limit could be worth considering.
I missed this kind of videos soo much
You just know blizzard fired their QA team beforehand and just twiddle their thumbs in anticipation of Toast's video to tell them what's wrong every expansion.
nice video , i guess we'll here from this channel again in the next expansion
I always appreciate your content - thank you!
This is the content I subscribed for!
If you play Dreampetal Florist, and it hits Flobbidinous Floop, it changes its cost to 0, but if you then play another minion, making Flobbidinous Floop change in that minion, its cost changes back to 4.
About a the omega 10 mana crystal, the wild groth never worked on that situation too, when you play WG in 10 mana you get the mana exceed, if you innervate (old times on 8+2) with 9 mana, didnt give you the extra card draw. never did.
I can hear the BB laughter already HAHAHAHHAAHAHA
Tess sabotaged Dr. Boom's suit. Logical interaction.
I saw a post on reddit saying the DrMorrigan loop works when you have more of them in the deck, you should search for that
Toast the Dr. Morrigan trick works if you have more copies in your deck. Not 1 or 2. I think it has to be 4 or more for the infinite loop.
You are the hero we both want and need
Toast even if it should work, no one wants endless swaps and an endless turn. That was probably deliberate.
