Man, I hear everything you are saying. It really does give me hope that the real Australians are still about. I am 63 and traveled Aus most my life in one way or another and I love this country and recon I bleed the colours of our flag ;-). I worked in and seen the mining boom of the West, visited Millstream, worked on the first cyclone proof houses after cyclone Tracy and toured the Pilbara and NW when it was still a wilderness and the list goes on. What saddens me is the destruction and loss of our culture and the disrespect of our vast country. Spent many yrs as a child at Gnowangerup and around Kattaning, Balidu and the like when wheat was plentiful and Marino was king, it was a wonderful life
We have seen our little town grow and farms turned into suburbs and the reduction in the koala population in the process. Once we were county and I can soon see we will just be an outer suburb of Brisbane West - ;-(
I have one last trip in me and that will be an endless tour of Australia to find the old Australia I remember growing up - thankyou for this great video and for keepin it real mate. You have a new video fan ;-) Never had a holiday overseas, why would I when there is still so much of this great country to see - to much to see in one life time if you are open to what it has to offer.

How long does 1080 take to breakdown? The time 1080 takes to biodegrade in soil depends on the weather. At temperatures around 10-20 °C, 1080 washed from the bait pellets is broken down by soil organisms within 1-2 weeks. This still occurs at temperatures as low as 5 °C, but more slowly.
Mate I am riding your bloody wave right now, especially the emphasis on preserving our landscapes and letting people explore/adventure for themselves and create their own experience. Not something they've seen on their phone, but something they can feel like they found on they're own and they can call they're own piece of paradise. That's where I find all the fun. Great stuff. Spent a lot of time there in the 70s early 80s. Living in the cave. Nothing and nobody there then. Spent 12 days there stuck no one in no one out during a cyclone. Ended up living on clams and whatever else we could find till the roads finally opened up again. Surf was pumping though.

East coast example ......... seal rocks. 25yrs ago it was just a shitty dirt road in, everyone camped in the bush in old kombis, panelvans and land rovers.
2021. Road is bitumen, the bush is all bollarded off, cabins everywhere and can’t see the water for Audis and BMW’s.
It’s disappointing that my kids won’t experience the freedom we had back then .
Great view on the secret spots. Very true with how hard it is to find them only to find out it's posted all over the place.

We were at Red Bluff in '05 and it was just magic.
Amazing history up that coast, Red Bluff was the location where the German survivors from Kormoran (which sank the HMAS in Sydney in WWII) came ashore and were captured.

Couldn’t agree more in regards to people pin-dropping camp locations on social media. You’re one of the few that realise the implications of the irreversible damage to those little hidden gem spots that have remained blissful and quiet for so long, all because of someone mindlessly sharing on social media for purely self-gratifying purposes
Yew! Such a special part of wa! So interesting hearing about how it’s changed through the generations and all the horror stories you don’t hear about too often. Absolutely agree with you in saying that we need to ‘get lost’ in the hope to make ourselves feel more alive again and take the road less travelled. Ripper video, can’t wait for part 2 👍

That shell you found while talking aBout the urchins looks like it could be a cone snail shell. One of the most venomous animals in the world. Makes taipans look like wimps.
Mark Wright I thought it might have been a cone shell but I know there’s a lot of very similar shells so I didn’t want to mislead just in case I was incorrect. Those little guys are super dangerous.

Yep 9:30 as you say, there has been so many tracks that were 4wd only accessible that has been commercialised and now anyone can get there easily. It's becoming like almost only water crossing locations that have a deep depth remain secluded and 4wd accessible only.

salty, all those secret spots that we all just stumbled upon were destroyed long ago by shows like "getaway" and the like. i remember being the only one on "double island point" in the early seventies. its called "progress". i call it something else.
My old man tells me sorry of qubba stations when he was 19-20 fishing of the cliffs and sleeping in the back of mates ute, drinking warm beers cos eskys were not really a thing

I know nearly every track and beach on quobba, gnaraloo,warroora and dirkhartog as i have been going to all of them for decades and have been drawing my own map of the area for years, i have plenty of my own footage that my friends and family enjoy but i have no interest putting any of it on social media mainly as i dont do social media at all, but mostly because i dont want half the world pouring in to places like this, i now have to camp @ quobba homestead as red bluff and 3 mile is usually so packed with everyone getting the pizzas and smoothies you speak of,so whilst i like your videos i still wish to go back to the days when no one knew of these spots and hollywood A listers stayed in 5 star hotels.
Great content mate as always but I have to say that youtubers, instagram and geotagging are some of the main reasons beautiful spots are getting blown out. The way you educate and influence your viewers is brilliant but I never understand why a location needs to be said at all, let viewers figure out themselves where it is and how to get there. I understand that without putting the name in a title it reduces your exposure but at the end of the day you're part of the problem, you're just at the bloody good end of the scale.

Fair comment mate and I see were on the same wave length. I wouldn't go and place UA-camrs, Instagrammers and Geotaggers in a box though, they're all very very different.
However, besides mentioning 'Quobba Station' which is the 'area' so to speak there is no other locations said. Its like me going to the kimberley and not saying where I am and trying to convince people im in Queensland which is pointless, i'd then be called a liar and have no weight to my videos because people wouldn't see them as truthful. You can be honest and still not give away the hidden spots. My topic in this video is talking about the spots within these areas and keeping those for others to find themselves. Quobba and the Coral coast is no secret, not in the slightest, its promoted by Tourism WA and Tourism Australia. My issue is those that pin drop locations which I have never and will never do. So I don't see myself as part of the problem at all and Im sure many would agree, I'm trying to create and educate people on the solution.
@@SaltyDavenport understand what you are saying mate and this is the reason I hate commenting on anything because context is misconstrued. I understand the vast differences between influencers and educators but my main point is that I wish there was a way for content to exist without any names, maps, directions etc... similar to what Mick Campbell and Tahlija Redgard do in their Raw Living Surfing fishing vids. Anyway didnt want to start a keyboard match so hopefully if our paths cross one day we can discuss over a beer or a coffee. All the best and I truly hope more people come across your vids as you are one of the more genuine creators worthy of spending some time watching.

Dude, please stop telling people where you go. It’s what’s going to ruin these spots. If they want to go, let them explore & find it for themselves. You can’t complain about these places becoming crowded if you guys keep telling everyone about them. Just my opinion. Great videos otherwise
Thanks for the comment Victor. I never tell people where I go, I visit a region which one only has to look at a map to see without viewing any of my videos. Coral Coast is extremely well known and posted about by the likes of famous surfers, bloggers, instagrammers not to mention Matt Damon and Chris Hemsworth recently. Im simply here to encourage people to explore and learn and respect what we have. Not one spot is given away in this video except of course RedBluff which needs no introduction. Thanks for the props on the other videos though.
Salty Davenport all good mate. I’m not trying to be a dick about it, but unfortunately people are lazy & want everything handed to them. From my experience, it’s the places you search for & find that people tend to look after & appreciate more as they take it as their own as appose to just visiting the place. I share your sentiment with places once pristine that are now developed & crowded & no longer a peaceful destination hence my reluctance to ever tell anyone my locations. Here in the east coast it’s virtually impossible to find that anymore without going really remote which is a shame because 40 years ago you only needed a few hours & you could have been & felt like you where a million miles from everyone. Climate change mate. You never talk (as far as I have seen in your videos -like 7 so far-) about climate change in Australia. It is a HUGE, huge issue over there. Educate yourself & people here about that, rather than about romantic stuff about solitude, isolated biches, and 4x driving. Actually 4x drivers (like yourself & myself) contribute quite a bit to worsening the climate crisis (especially with big 8 cylinder utes). Lets be honest about it among us Overlanding community. Cheers!
