Daidus Angel of darkness guy reminds me of that dark reunion guy in saiki XD AND YEAH! I agree with daidus … it’s the eyes! It’s very emirichu style and specially the line work is thin and crispy ✨clean line art ✨🎀
They'd actually make such a good couple. He's a fallen angel that an infinite life supply and she initially wants to take that life force but they slowly fall in love and learn to live *together*. THE.👏 ANGST.👏
And when she runs out of lives and there will be nowhere to take her. The angel will give her his eternal life and die, and she will live forever and remember him as her only love.
Or he realizing he is in love with her he starts tormenting humans to the point they want to die so she always has a fuel source (Hc she can’t interact with them unless it’s to ask for their life span). I also imagine he has a spread sheet filled with the dead humans and the amount of life they gave her so he can keep track of it
Even though she doesn't like it anymore, the 2017 early youtube Emirichu style is super dear to me, LOL. It's nostalgic! I was the biggest Emirichu fan when I was a young lad, and I remember spending actual hours attempting to figure out the core tenets to your artstyle so I could reproduce them. It's why I got into drawing! When you were 12, you drew Tokyo Mew Mew When I was 12, I drew you We are not the same (insert image of Gus Fring)
Omg I understand self deprecation notes! I literally thought I was the only person that did that. I would literally write fail when I would draw something I wasn’t proud of 😭
The little notes always reminds me of how in one of my sketchbooks I have a drawing of one of my characters hitting the 👌🏻 below his waist captioned "got em" and I fall for it... every... time... I open that page.
i really adore this channel for several reasons but mostly because i think more young artists need to see that even the most seasoned, put-together, big-name artists that they might look up to online have periods where they hate everything they make or feel bad about their skill level, and that those feelings will pass if they just keep coming back to art. it's helpful to know this stuff when you're starting out so you don't get too discouraged; i wish more popular artists had been open about it when i was growing up.
love how in the beginning, daidus was the one who kept putting himself down for not doing as good as he expected, Emily cheers him up and encourages to keep going. now recently emily is sort of struggling/frustrated and daidus just kept cheering her on and trying to keep her going too 😭😭 yall so cute istg
Damn. Daidus' articulation of why artists, especially at younger ages, constantly shit on their work makes so much sense and applies to other things too, like music. I can remember countless times writing stuff but not being able to play it or have it come out how I wanted because my skill/expertise level wasnt honed/couldn't execute what i was hearing in my head, nor did i know the proper way to explain it.
23:29 it's always so bizarre to me hearing about westerners' childhood experience with anime bc when i was in 5th grade, my entire class used to wear black every friday and called ourselves the Black Knights (from Code Geass), and in 6th grade, we were all into Fairy Tail and would draw the different guild insignias on our hands 😭😭😭 even in my highschool, Nisekoi used to be really popular that ppl actually fought over who was best girl hhdhshh im so sorry to anyone who had to hide your interests as a young kid :( hopefully now you can be as loud as you want !!!!

I hope kids don't get picked on for drawing manga in school anymore, I remember that and I'm glad I kept drawing what I wanted to regardless of ignorant brats opinions who had nothing better to do with their free time than pick on someone for doing something harmless that they enjoy
I'm so glad I found this channel. I don't really engage with a lot of art stuff but you two are so fun to watch! I've never wanted to do art more than when I watch you two. Even and especially during the rage moments since that's me every time I have ever tried to draw something!

I drew day number 3 in the Spilled Inktober fan collection! I'm so honored to be a part of the collection!! I love Spilled Ink and it's inspired me so much!
I think it’s so sweet how you both “defended” the 12 year old versions of each other. When Daidus said, “be nice to 12 year old Emily” that was so funny and sweet
8:30 Glad to know that it wasn't just me when it comes to reading Chobits way to young. Because I read that when it was still new, and I was around 12 to 13.
Hahaha I feel so called out. I still do the arrows and notes on my doodles! The only difference is that nowadays, I write notes detailing exactly what is wrong and how to fix the issue. Growth? Lol 😂😅
This has to be your greatest idea yet! Also pretty proud of your courage to face your own cringe demons. I tried reading short stories I wrote (some were even published) when I was a teen and I couldn't even get past the first one 😂
i actually love it when people come back to their old sketchbooks/drawings, probably because I myself cherish my old drawings and see them as a way to sort of remember who I am and who I used to be. it's like, whenever I feel lost I know I always have a place to come back to and that thought comforts me so thanks a lot for this video, it really warmed my soul :')
Love this video! It is so true that we younger artists bash on our old drawings ;-; One way that I found to help with the smudging, is to lay another piece of paper on top. Hope that helps!
As a teen I literally had my OCs as small commentators in my scetchbook. They'd be in one of the corners. So TECHNICALLY it wasn't ME that was trashing my art.
I think every middle schooler is also incredibly aware of being cringe but also they want to come across as self aware. They're self-deprecating specifically to avoid other people pointing out their flaws, so they point them out first.
19:00: I’d say, “good job, keep going!” As a sensitive person people not criticizing how my art looked helped me not give up on art. And I really appreciated that. :)
never really had a hard time being the art kid in high school but middle school? i dont even wanna remember those days! like its funny to me how kids think that if someone is "weird" they need to bully them or make them feel like an outcast, in high school i was at the troubled kids class (so basically one class for those who are slow and need extra help to learn but that also took away my ability to join art class) and there not only was i never made fun of for being an artist, gamer and a weeb u name it! we were also very good friends and supported each other like siblings its the only three years of my school life that i actually enjoyed cause i genuinely had nice teachers and fellow students.
I think what Daidus means by "it looks Emirichu" is that her drawings have similar eyes, hair, and body's to one another despite them being diffrent characters.
As someone who was on both Gaia Online and Maple Story (oh, Scania...), I am feeling the nostalgia. I still talk to people from both (and ones I've lost contact with, I still think about all the time).
Hi Emily! As a traditional artist I would like to let you know the reason the pencil keeps smudging is because you are whipping your hand over the paper to get rid of the eraser bits, I would used a brush to get the off of just blow on it, hope this helps! I forgot to also say the reason its important to try not to smudge is because the oils on your hands turn the charcoal into this painty good and its hard to erase.
I wanted them to do couple art, where one draws one person and the other draws in the couple to see the difference of the styles. It can be a valentines thing. I just thought it would be cute and cool.
For the pencil smudging situation, there’s a couple of options: 1) Use a pencil in the H range as they smudge less 2) Use coloured sketching pencils like Prismacolor Col-Rase, as they don’t smudge like graphite. There is a grey coloured one if you like the look of the grey sketch.
I love how Emily and Dadius are supportive to beginner artists :D The trashing on old art was real I accidentally activate a gag reflect and die of cringe when I see why old art from 5th and 6th garde 😭 and the notes I wrote on them too made me die of cringe even harder
