Thank you for always providing such useful information. I have recently really expanded my collection and have found that Akatsuka orchids have a great selection of young plants, their quality and packaging are amazing! They get the plants to you in just a few days and if you want to splurge their mature in bud and bloom are reasonably priced and arrive in perfect condition.
Divisions are also a great way to expand your collection 🥰 Cattleyas that sell for $$$ as blooming plants sell for much much less as decent sized divisions that will bloom within a year or two ! I’ve seen some blooming Cattleyas sell for more than 200$ + + + when the divisions are $10-20!
I got a division from a UA-camr. That's another way to get free orchids! 😉 I'll wait patiently for my division of C. Fascellis and Jungle Spots...no hurry! 😆 I've spent over a hundred dollars on orchids a number of times. The most I've spent so far on a single one was 200 clams! 😱 AND...that one cost $50 to ship that single plant, can you believe it??? OMG, I've had so many orchids blooming in January. I have a NOID that just bloomed that is unbelievablely gorgeous. I was thinking of you for a division if you like it, but it's a REALLY tall Cattleya plant! Like taller and wider leaves than my Purpurata. And Purpuratas are big catts!. I'm obsessed with it. I'll be sending pics soon of my January blooms as I'm waiting for one to finish opening up. Well fun video as always.
:) It's the best way to get orchids honestly. I'm here patiently waiting for Caribbean Orange Bowl - can't wait to smell it!🔶$200 is a lot for an orchid - when you have so many I feel like you don't spend as much, but in the beginning it's easy to get sucked in!!! Looking forward to seeing your blooms :)
Hello Nicole. I just ordered 2 more Sogo Vivian from Hauserman Orchids yesterday. I already have 2 but I love them so much. I do have other house plants to keep me occupied while I'm waiting for the orchids to bloom. This year, my goal is to purchase less and curate my current collection. Try to grow them better and try to get some double spikes. Love your channel. ❤❤❤
Thanks so much for your support always Wanda! ❤ I love that Sogo Vivienne! Something about that bloom it looks like it has a pearl in the middle, it's so lovely and the blooms last so long :)
Great suggestions 😊 I haven’t had the best of luck with young orchids/seedlings so I’m trying to now to be more selective about what to buy and waiting for more mature plants.
I like to visit Lowe's and check out their plants on the discount shelf; it's where orchids no longer in bloom end up. They can be up to 50% off. Also I've had luck with a few Etsy orchid sellers buying plants not in bloom.
I have a huge collection of phals. I’ve fallen in love with Cattleya’s. I’m struggling to find them here in Canada. I did get a couple of suggestions from you on a previous video. I’ll have to wait until the weather gets warmer.

Akatsuka is incredible! They have some really vigorous hybrids at a good price. Very similar to Carmela - great quality, good prices!
Been trying SO HARD to stop buying!!
Ya, the struggle is real. 🤣
lol, it’s very difficult….i am about to order a new Vanda so clearly I am struggling with this 😉
@@shirleytaylor9267 Just one? 🤣
@ ummm, no, a small cattleya fell into my cart 🤣
@@shirleytaylor9267 Atta girl! 😆

I'm glad you found it helpful! 😊
With your tips. I do pretty well by my windowsill . I move them twice a day😂..I'm old but they ate worth the trouble.
They really are worth the trouble 😊

I do that too! Sometimes it's risky, but sometimes you get lucky.

I hope you find some great Cattleyas! Spring is around the corner :)
Me myself lost a seedling yesterday...😢
I'm sorry to hear that, it happens though, to all of us, don't worry, we keep going :)
Positively Positive I will. Luckily I had 2 twins..
The best is to be rich. So no problem. 😂
Hahah! Definitely - then no orchid is an issue :)
