The lake hadn't been netted for over 5 years. The objective of the netting was to remove all silver fish, pike, perch and catfish below 50lbs. By removing a large quantity of fish from the lake we were able to create enough space to be able to add some new carp to the lake.

We had the Beausoleil French Carp and Cats lake netted just before Christmas to remove silver fish and small catfish. The operation was a great success and it was wonderful to see all our fish in one go and a great experience for us. We then added 22 new carp to the lake. Here's a video of the whole experience.

Hi Matt, does the water from the lake drain into a river and does the quality of the lake water have to be inspected before you are granted permission to drain ?
Hi Tim, so in France every time you do a drain down you need authorization from the water board. They decide when and if you can drain down. Our lake drains into a small stream that flows into other lakes. They’ve never tested our water, maybe they do in other areas of France. It’s more a case of how your water will affect those downstream from you. Cheers, Matt.
@@matthewcollinsangler OK. Thanks
This is like god mode fishing
What's lake record carp please?
And average size?
Hi Dale, the current lake record carp is 53lbs and the average size for specimen carp is 35lbs.
When your gonna net the lake net more than half of it
Hello Matthew, it’s me Liam , so what’s the biggest carp in your lake now and what’s your biggest catfish in your lake ?
Hi Liam, still going through the archives 💪 So we’ve got 80 carp to 48lbs, with average carp size of 35lbs, and a dozen cats from 50 to 100lbs+ and current lake record at 125lbs.

Pourquoi remettez-vous les silures à l’eau?
Bonjour, on garde les plus gros parce que la pêche au silure fait partie des prestations que nous offrons à nos clients.
Great fish care going in.NOT. just whacking them in the sorting nets or leaving them in boats with bigger fish on top. Would have expected better from you. Also whats happened to the smaller cats and silvers?
This is the reality of nettings sometimes. The fish farmer and his team are professionals but they ran out of cages, we had to improvise with the rowing boat. Nettings are tricky and this first one was a massive learning curve, we are better prepared now. We did our best to look after the fish. The fish farmer took the smaller cats and the silvers.
Were any of the fish killed by the fish farmer do you think? After he took them, its alot to care for.
No, they're not. Professional fish farmers do these nettings across many lakes over the winter period and they’re fully equipped to deal with this amount of fish on their premises. After the netting, the fish are sorted, graded, put into holding tanks or ponds for resale.
