- News crews are everywhere! We are a historical cruise... the first sailing from a US port in 15 long months! And the world is watching!! There are three national film crews from NBC, CBS and CNN on board with us reporting live. It was amazing to experience history... and we were even interviewed by NBC and were part of a segment on NBC Nightly News... how cool is that!
After all of the excitement, we had a very relaxed sea day! We are so happy to be sailing again!!

I cried when you did the LIVE and coming on board because it was so heartfelt. I’ve never cruised but I do plan on it in the future but knowing that we are another step closer to normal again feels good.

We love Kerry Sanders. One of our hometown journalists from Miami. Luckily, even though he’s been gone from NBC Miami for awhile, we never miss him on NBC Nightly News or MSNBC. Kerry still always carries our breaking news and we an always count on him for great and informative journalism. Also, probably one of the nicest guys in news. We always know that voice, and we’ll say, “there’s Kerry” before we even see his face. Keep up the great work. We can’t wait to get back onboard and April 2022 for Apex b2b is not going to come soon enough!

Enjoyed this video and loved the livestream of boarding day!!!! Wondering what happened to the livestreams in Ft.Lauderdale and Freedom of the Seas?!?!?! My wife and I celebrated our One anniversary on Freedom of the Seas in May 2013 and loved it!!!! We’ve been loyal to Royal since we both were kids!!! Though we’ve been sailing Oasis Class ships since!!!!

Never been on a cruise but this looks super tempting.
What type cabin did you get. It looks awesome. Love the idea of the expanded cabin / balcony combination Many river cruises do this - but this is the he first I have seen on an ocean ship.

We've done a few cruise lines, only did one Celebrity cruise. I think it was on their oldest ship--but it was still actually quite clean and nice. The food overall was a bit more upscale than some other cruises we've done. Carnival's buffet is so darn weak, but we do like the burgers and juevos rancheros, so I guess it's sort of a tradeoff.
We like Carnivals buffet the least of all! We still do enjoy a Carnival ship regardless
Love watching your Vlogs. Your personalities are great! :) & the videos Really gives me an idea of places I want to see and ships I want to book. My husband and I just got back from our Carnival Horizon cruise and we had an amazing time!! Sadly our port to Bimini Bahamas was cancelled last minute but we didnt mind as long as we were able to cruise! :)
1 question about the edge. What was the room you guys booked? I love the concept of being able to have it as an open space in the room or a balcony

I’m with you alisa I actually like that buffet set up way better then carnival.
Royal Caribbean and Carnival have moved to this set up on the new ships. Makes so much more sense.
@@kennywalker4091 thank you for that info. The last time I was on a ship was in 2019 on carnival victory and I’ve only done 3 cruises all on carnival. Carnival ecstasy, carnival liberty and carnival victory all had the long line buffet for main entree, bread and some desserts.
@@nicolesvacationsandcooking496 On Carnival it's available on the Vista Class and Mardi Gras Class. Not sure how many Royal ships have this but I believe it's Voyager Class and up. So much easier to walk up to what you need as opposed to standing in line.

Yes! They just had everyone on the same package for the first USA sailing so it was slow for that reason. I think you would be just fine!

how is the internet? Were you able to work well? Does teams calls work?
The internet was good on our sailing and I did work. Didn’t try teams but we did upload on UA-cam.
Do you think it will be a good cruise for kids?
There are really great clubs for the kids. Camp at sea for the little ones and the basement club foe the teens! I would say yes that it is good for kids.

The rates are not too bad right now considering it is summer when they are always high. But I do expect increases…

Just a little constructive criticism. Your videos need a hook or a theme to hold them together. They should tell a story that the viewer really wants to follow. This one is a great example of how you're just stringing together a bunch of unrelated scenes. You missed a great opportunity to show your viewers what's different and what's not as cruising resumes. It's nice that you showed us what you had for breakfast, but most people want to know if the breakfast buffet is different in this new world. You got to meet Kerry Sanders from NBC News, take a page from his book and tell a story.
We vlog our daily lives as regular folk on cruise ships and we do explain the differences that we have seen AND experienced…in the order in which they have happen! Hang tight as you will start to some major changes! The story isn’t OVER its just BEGINNING! ! Lots more footage to come!! Thank you for your constructive criticism BUT don’t be be quick to make a determination so early in a vlog series!
