The ls was still being made new when the coyote came out. The ls3. All the ls engines in this video also have alot more cubes and many of them were built from the ground up.
All you Ford fans talking about how the Coyote is sealed, how it loves boost, how it's a much more advanced design than the LS, how it's just better in general and that GM cant touch the Coyote... like GM didn't just ABSOLUTELY shit all over the Coyote with the release of the LT6... Ford cant touch that engine, even with the Voodoo FPC. GM is the current KING of V8's, and well, really always has been. I mean they make the most popular and mass produced V8 of all time.
Lt6 in a 150k dollar vette with even more markups and it can't be easily modified without a stand alone. I don't think it's shitting all over anything. 600 to the wheels na isn't gonna do much against the cars in this video. Good luck paying 10k to modify your 150+k dollar vette.
Nobody cares what motors do stock what can they do with mods? That's what matters. Too bad it's screwed over with locked down ecu just like the new s650 mustang. The best days of good moddable v8 cars are behind us.
The lt6 is 5.5 cubes and it revs to 9k rpm. It has really short stroke which allows that but hinders it's torque which is why it barely makes more torque than a 526 hp gt350 that came out 8 years ago and costed like 60-70 grand max. More displacement and more rpm and it's had 8 more years to advance technology. You don't think Ford could make a dohc v8 every bit as good if not better if they wanted? Sure they could but the cost to do so wouldn't make sense putting it in a 60k dollar mustang. That is a 150k dollar top of the line vette. I seen some going close to 200 but that is just markups. It takes a 150k dollar corvette to outdo the voodoo that was out 8 years ago in a 60k dollar mustang? That really isn't a great accomplishment lol.

Chevrolet has finally realized that, for a fixed displacement,four valves are far superior to two valves.5.5 liter dohc powered ZR1 monster.With equal mods and boost,pushrod cannot compete with dohc without a large displacement advantage.

That blower isn't a good choice unless you're trying to go well over 1000 because the 2650 has shown it can easily do just that on the right combo. Be interesting to see what it can do but too many guys go with too big of a blower this has been going on since the terminators were first being upgraded with aftermarket blowers.

@redrum5.0_29 Last I heard, Kong is no longer releasing the 3100 for the LS/LT platforms since, if I remember right, the results over the 2650 weren't enough in their eyes to justify the cost (both in terms of business and from a consumer's standpoint), R&D, etc. of releasing it. I think other companies will still release a 3100 though, just not Kong.
t took ford this long to finally make a good motor to compete and I still see lots of videos of the newer gen 2 gen 3 auto stangs losing to LS and LT motors. Let’s you know just how good chevy motors have been forever 👊👊
The ls is a great motor, but it's really hard to beat the coyote/roadrunner motor. No need to open it up. Just throw some boost and a fuel system on it and have at it.
@@chadkent1241 I get what your saying. At that level of performance, i think both motors have great potential. It all comes down to the $$$$$. I was more referring to a stock motor. Just boost and fuel and the coyote is at 800rwhp all day. And as long as people don't bounce off the rev limiter, you don't need to change the oil pump gears. I've seen alot more (stock) ls motors give way under boost. Maybe it was the tune, maybe not. But a factory sealed coyote seems incredibly strong. Almost half the coyotes I see, seem to have boost now and run around at 700rwhp like it's nothing. They really are great motors. It's just so easy to throw a blower on the car and have at it. No cams, heads etc.

Me personally, I would rather use my time to make money and not put it in a depreciating assest and waste hours working on them. Have friends with ls motors. And there constantly working on them. Changing stuff. Us guys with the coyote stuff just sit back and laugh. Maybe change a pulley and download a new tune, done with it. And on the street. I guess different strokes different folks
