Another thing i noticed is that if you move around quickly while jimmy is walking the opposite way from you.. you can see him patrolling with his back turned. And he will not attack you unless he sees you.
@@DrawsAjpw you can try in floor 1 to call out to jimmy and then quickly loop around the map behind him. Its not guarranteed it will work but it will happen in any floor if hes walking away from you
Interesting thing about scenario 2. There is actually an animation made for it but was never programmed in there. In the files there is a mp4 called "hotel.mp4" its a 3 hour video of every single animation in the game. And literally every single, even the unused ones. Which includes scenario 2s animation. But it was never programmed in the game. Interesting stuff.
I saw that video, there's a lot of other animations that jimmy does that you might have not seen before. Like at one part of the video you can see jimmy when his back is turned, walking away from you or you can see him running across the hallway.

Maybe that'll happen in the sequel? I'm assuming the budget will be bigger. And maybe the developers might have some special up their sleeve, ie new features and tricks, new ideas to change up the gameplay a little.
I'm surprised nobody has gone for a Shining game adaption. I think the last couple of games I remember featuring a Hotel/Motel was probably Parasite Eve 2, Heavy Rain, possibly the Walking Dead Season 1? But it's a very underutilised location, especially for a horror genre.
You need more views and subs, my man! Great work! Jimmy's mechanics are a bit buggy sometimes. For example, one bug prevents the player exiting the room. He just moves back and forth in front of the room. But it is greatest low budget production I have ever seen. Extremely unique, perfect balance between linear movement and dynamic. Sadly I have seen so much of it... I need to wait until my old brain has forgotten all the great content to start the game with a pair of fresh eyes 😂😂
Thanks for doing this. I've been very curious to see what happens when certain actions are taken throughout the game. The developers really did a great job putting this type of game together.
Heya, in regards to the locking a different room and then Jimmy tries to open your door: I'm guessing this is because there are only two animation states that the game can do. Jimmy can either patrol past a door (walk in front of the spyglass, or peek in and sneak away), or begin opening the door of the room you are in. AFAIK there is no animation for him opening a door across the hallway. So, by being in a different room, you are adding the chance that he will open the door (something which can't be done on the other room which you have locked). Then, in regards to the window: I actually completely spaced on it. I assume you get bonked when you leave the window 🤔. HMMM I'll have to give it a go sometime. Thanks!
Heya! I actually didn't know you could lock doors from within the room (I guess I never tried it haha). I just tested this out though and this is exactly what happens: Jimmy sees you in the hallway. You enter the room and then lock the door using the room key from within the room. You can look through the spyglass and see Jimmy reach the door. The game pushes you out of the spyglass and you'll be facing the door... Jimmy tries to open the door but can't. He makes the same groan he makes when he is locked in the room, but does not try to pick the lock. You cannot look through the spyglass while Jimmy is struggling with the door, as it says something along the lines of "You must wait until you're safe". Thanks!
Heya, I think that's Scenario 9. Unless I'm wrong, I believe Jimmy would turn the lights off, kicks in the door and bonks you. That footage is from the storage room on the East side of the first floor.

Alright I had a quick look over lunch and this is what I found: If you get Jimmy to chase you into the 1st floor storage room (with the symbol on the wall and where he keeps your keys after bonking you), then take a step towards the desk and turn to face the door, Jimmy will grunt (similar to being locked in a room) and then not come into the room... The game didn't autoturn me towards the desk. Yeah, it was kind of weird. I also think i somehow bugged Jimmy out of the floor while attempting this, because I couldn't get him to return for multiple attempts, and he did not respond when I called out to him. Was weird.

1. I guess there is one difference, which is the room where Jimmy puts your keys if you get bonked on level 1. I tried for about half an hour to get Jimmy to come in that store room (or even turn the lights off I think... Sorry it's been awhile, memory is foggy) and he never did. I don't know if my game was just being a jerk, but he just would chase me to the door and then leave. All other storage rooms as far as I can remember only allow you to enter, but then you can't move further inside the room 🤔. The times when Jimmy came to attack me in those rooms, he'd always turn the light off. 2) Hmmm yeah, I can't remember what happened the first time I went into a pitch black room. Pretty sure I got confused, hid in a bathroom and got bonked though 😅

Heya! The developer has mentioned in a steam post that the friends make it out regardless of them bumping into Jimmy or not. "Friends scream if they bump into Jimmy, but Jimmy just taunts them - he sometimes says 'au revoir' as they leave - but they do leave, he lets them all go." The scream is a good way to find out how far Jimmy is from the room 😅. Thanks terrified friends!

Heya, so it is my understanding that if you hear Jimmy scaring your friends, it doesn't mean that they have failed to escape. I believe you get the same ending if you hear them get jumped, or not. I used the friends as bait, to be honest. Their screamed helped indicate whether Jimmy was nearby 😅
What happens if you wait at and face the stairs on say for example level 1, can you see him enter/peek? Otherwise if you stay there but look another way (facing the store room for example) can he enter the floor and bonk you? One last thing but if none of these work can you wait by the elevator door and watch jimmy enter from the stairs?

🤔 I think right at the start he is talking to himself in a room about Maya and her friends, while Maya is walking around. My memory is pretty scuffed, so I can't remember completely... But I think he eventually pops out of the 1st floor... Maybe? Not sure.
As far as I can remember I don't think there are any light switches the player can use. If a room is dark I think there isn't a way to turn the lights on. I'm not sure where Jimmy is finding the light switch for the storage room, but he definitely uses it to be a jerk 😅.
