    Donna, when I retire in a year & 1/2 I plan to make this baby (or children's) quilt to give away to children's hospitals' pediatric wards. I will make them in yellows, pinks, blues, greens purples....ive already ordered FROEN IN TIME jelly roll to make one & see if its as easy as it looks on the tutorial. I can't wait to get started.

    Some people get bowing in their long seams for a couple of reasons and here's a couple of hints Donna uses on others videos: One is whilst sewing, stop the machine when you need to adjust or realign the edges. If I don't stop I have a tendency to pull and stretch at those spots.... Another is to use the four-foot straight edge whilst ironing. That really keeps the seams from curving. ... Pressing those seems by hand not only keeps those "tucks" from happening, but evens out those threads if your tension is a tiny bit off. Happy sewing. ❤⛅🌵

    Hi, wow thank you so much for these very informative videos, I enjoy watching you bring some really beautiful materials to life in the quilts. You explain everything in a relaxed and easy to understand way. But can I ask? do you by any chance still do this baby Bargello quilt kit please.? It’s really beautiful I love the colours and styles you chose. My nephew and his partner are due to welcome a baby girl into the world very soon, and I thought what a wonderful way to celebrate, by making a quilt that can be used for years to come. I’ve looked on your web site store and cannot find it. Many thanks, Claire

    Donna, this looks like an easy way to produce a darling quilt! Thanks for making this video.
    I have a couple questions. First, I notice you usually finger press, and then do the ironing later. I was taught to set the seam first with the iron before turning and pressing to the right. What is the reason you don’t do it this way? Does it make a difference?
    Second, I notice that your green version looks more like a classic bargello, as the colors are more I. Rows, but without the usual waves. Will you be explaining how you did this version?

    Hi Donna, I need your help please. I am in the UK. Having watched this video, I would love to make this quilt but to fit a UK King size bed. What is the best way to do this? I am new to machine quilting as I have only ever made one hand stitched quilt from small hexagons and that took me 37 years to complete. My husband wants me to make a quilt for him and as I am 71, I haven't 37 years available to me. Please can you tell me the best way to enlarge this pattern? Many thanks in anticipation. • @jordanfabrics8380

      I use 10 to 12 stitches per inch for patchwork, but for this quilt (or any pattern that gets strips stitched into unit and then cut) I used 14 to 16 stitches per inch so that the seams don't start to come undone before they rows get stitched back together.

It looks like a miniature wallpaper roller only 5" long x 1" wide & the handle has an ergonomic shape. Maybe this little tool would help you " finger press" without the sound & feel of using your finger/nail !

    Hello, thank you for your wonderful videos. May I ask what is the weight of the weight help you use to cut your long pieces off fabric and would I find them in a sport specialty store. I think your store is in the states, so I presume that I would have to buy in American currency, which would make all my purchases much more expensive plus the transportation fees. Do you have a store in Québec or in Canada? Thank you for your time.

    To make a queen size you said to use 52 strips? I am not sure how to put this together. Do you have any more detailed instructions? I am new to quilting and thought this might not be to hard a project for a beginner. Thanks

    • @jordanfabrics8380
      @jordanfabrics8380  6 років тому

      It is an easy project for a beginner in the small size, but I don't have the pattern figured out for a larger size. If you used 56 strips you could make a patchwork that measures about 56x70 inches and then add borders to that.

    • @paulinelarson465

      What if you pieced, like, 4 sections with offset edges. Then joined them in center of top, bit by bit? Joining may be tedious but might be easier than trying to make long enough tubes for width of a queen or king. Or several sections with sashing between could work.
