    As an American who grew up in the state with the highest population of Middle Eastern peoples in America I have had a fondness for falafel since my teens. Your recipe looks amazing. I gave the video a like. I especially liked your slaw recipe.

    In Brazil we have a dish called "Acarajé" which is a fried bean stuffed with shrimp. Its based off the african akara, and nigerian kosai, it came to Brazil during the slavery period

      Homely is a nice way of saying ugly. If something is homely then you keep it at home and out of the sight of others.
      That is not how I'd describe Nadiya's cooking.

    This is great! I love falafel but I've become allergic to chickpeas. I'll have to try different flour though

      Helen Hardman try instead white northern beans and may be use mix of almond and regular flour.

      @@kinocchio probably the wrong term, more of a sensitivity, but even a small amount of chickpea gives me rampant diarrhoea. Never used to.

      Helen Hardman if you’re using canned chickpeas, the liquid it comes with might be the issue. Maybe rinse the chickpeas thoroughly and see if it helps.

      @@kinocchio no, it's now even anything with chick pea flour. Had a poppadom the other day and forgot they have it. Ten mins later, tell-tale grumblings and then the runs. I love Indian and middle-eastern food but just have to avoid the chick peas these days. Lentils seem fine.

    Reminds me of a Co-op falafel recipe using plain white canned beans other than garbanzo. Recipe was amazing.

    I tried this recipe with a small change:
    Roll the falafel balls in breadcrumbs, and deep fry instead of baking. Perfect!

    Naidya you are perfect,I done this once and do it again put more cumin and when I sliced cabbage I mixed with salt 30 minutes before

      If you have flaxseed meal, mix a TBSP of ground flaxseed meal with 3 TBS water, thicken in fridge for about 15-30 min. This will replace one egg as a binder.
