Played here in 2014 when it’s was only 9 people that day. Now day passes sell out for the year in 10 min absolutely love this place it is truly one of a kind
It blows my mind everytime that you only have 31K subs.... Lowkey don't mind being one of the few people who have found the hidden gem of Random Gold Club. You deserve more recognition on this platform.
Everything about this video is amazing, inspiring, and puts golf into context. I, like many, over complicate, over analyze, and get caught up in the unimportant, while losing sight of the point of this amazing game. Go out, have fun, meet people, and enjoy the experience! If that means playing with a $500 driver, a persimmon driver, or hickory clubs, great!
Really enjoyed this, Especially the comments about "only 9 holes" at the end and I totally agree. 9 very interesting holes that can be changed around is perfect for some great golfing experience. I wanna come down now and play there with Patrick with my real woods. Great video and a beautiful course ! well done boys.
Learned the game on a nine. Playing a short tight nine with water on four holes prepared me for every round I ever played on a conventional layout. Putting on large fast greens built in 1932 (Thank You Milton Hershey) taught me everything I needed to know about putting. So........Nothing wrong with a good nine. Even less wrong with a great nine like Sweetens Cove!!!! Thanks for more great content!!
I am cautious of telling people to play this course because its special little golf course that I don't want to ever get crowded but, at the same time I never keep my mouth shut anytime i get a chance to bring it up. Awesome video. Super pumped about the exposure for a cool course.
This course, video, all of the sentiment expressed (persimmons, having fun, bucking the elitist golf world) is what I'm all about. Thanks for this one, Erik!
Grandpa live's in Chattanooga, i've spent many summers golfing there at his home course. Immediately after watching this I booked a trip to go see him and play Sweetens!
Hands down some of the best content on UA-cam, not just for golf but for the entirety of UA-cam entertainment. Beautiful short documentary style shooting while combining the beautiful sport of golf along with it, well done Mr. Lang, well done.
Sweet little piece, Sweetens Cove looks like a course to play at some point before you peg it... perfect finishing quotes from Brent Robertson... nice random golf club Erik!
My wife and I spent a long weekend in Chattanooga over the summer and me being a Golf Geek, she "happily" agreed to swing by Sweetens on the way into town. The course was closed for a private event. However, Rob C was incredibly kind and accommodating with his time. He gave us a cart to tour the course and the place surpassed expectations. Sweetens Cove is a VERY special place. Just pure Golf with a Fun vibe. Would love to bottle this concept elsewhere.
Of every Random Golf Club, this one appeals to me the most! And what a dope drone shot at the last, with the dog walking into the bunker. Nice work guys! Loved it.
Competitive and prestigious golf will always have a place. But this is the future of golf. Really dig the aerial shot of the bunker and the dog. Mr. Lang you’re very talented.
I had my first ever round with hickory clubs last Friday and balls designed to play like 1920s balls. Tough, tough game especially in the early holes while I adjusted. Really enjoyed it, though. Makes modern golf seem easy.
So freaking awesome. The only problem is there wasn't more. What a great group of interesting guy's. Will try to check out the podcast. The ending overhead shot was brilliant!
Now they're covered up. All passes sold out in 15 minutes for the last group of passes issued. Waiting on the next release to get a spot. I live close and love tough courses.
I've heard really nice things about Sweetens Cove and the King/Collins backstory. I was hoping to get a better feel for the place through this video. What I got was, "there's nothing wrong with 9-hole golf courses", which I already knew.
Nice Erik! 9 holes can be just as great as 18. The amazing golf course designer Alister MacKenzie, who created Augusta among others, used to work out and tinker with new ideas/concepts by creating 9 hole courses. He designed the Northwood Golf Course near Guerneville in Sonoma County. You should play that course one day and do a video on it. It is a gem and a delight. Maybe we can play it together! Keep doing your wonderful work!
I'm assuming I just heard the podcast ep. 138 from this day of filming. :D Great pod and this video is awesome! I'm stoked to see more 9 hole or hybrid golf courses (like in your Mexico series) this is an exciting time for golf it's just unfortunate that it didn't start sooner. :)
Thank you. Watching this makes me appreciate golf on a completely different level. And not continue to be "got by the balls", best comment ever😂. Great Video💯👏
Really been enjoying your videos.....GREAT JOB......I also LOVE to play courses with character...I have a suggestion for you.... DUNWOODIE GOLF COURSE, Yonkers NY......If you play in Sept or October you will see a few dozen wild turkeys in the fairways.....
I'm not sure if they still have the all day deal, but you can't beat it. It was $100 play all day - as many holes as you can get in. Really fun course.
I am sure that everyone has their own little gold course that is a hidden gem, but if you are out in the Raleigh NC area and can afford to drive about an hour out to Wilson NC, you should go play a round at Wedgewood Public Golf Course. It is a well laid out course that is challenging, is lush green fairways, and is cheap. I played for $10 using a tee time app. And I would put it in the top 3 courses I have ever played. I have played probably 50 courses all over the country and this little course in almost the middle of nowhere was a real pleasure to play. Eric, if you are ever in the area with time to make the drive out there, let me know I will set up the time and play with you.
9 holes. Cool!!' If i could make my own golf course...I would make it 21 holes. 3 different 7 holes. 18 does not feel enough at the end of the round...
Have you ever played Dum Dum Golf Course in Sharon, PA? It is a 100 year old 9 hole course that has never charged green fees. 50 some years ago I took my first shots there with whiffle balls and a plastic club. It's no Pine Valley but it's free - so what can you lose?
Again love your videos if you ever come to Nashville,Tn I'd love to show you around and play a course maybe The Hermitage...its the nicest public course around
I wish hickory wasn’t so expensive to get into. I say this as I have less than a few hundred dollars in my gamer set. If I were to be able to find a gameable set what ball would you suggest using?
Slide up the mountain to Sewanee and the nine hole course there that Gil Hanse redid if you just have to get to eighteen. It is worthy of your time as well. I dare say you will not find two nine-hole courses of that caliber in that proximity anywhere else in the US.
wait a minute, mike taylor from artisan golf tx designed the taylormade hi-toe wedge? or he made prototypes like it years ago and now it's a trend? i can't find any evidence to the former online. i'd love to know! Anyone able to comment?
U know that u saw Hazeltine that one video about a mile away the chaska town course is there and that is my home course u should play it some time Eric
Erik, you should come play the courses down here in Palmetto Dunes in Hilton Head, SC. We have a Robert Trent Jones, George Fazio and Arthur Hills course. I can get you on all three beautiful courses for free. Anytime you want.
Played here in 2014 when it’s was only 9 people that day. Now day passes sell out for the year in 10 min absolutely love this place it is truly one of a kind
Such an awesome round! Thanks for having me along and absolutely loved the opportunity to “Sting” it with the persimmon wood and balata ball!!
That was sick
CaptFrosty Really appreciate it 👊

now he has 58k. 100k coming. content is way too good for anything less than 100k
The legendary Zac Radford!
Solid video guys!
I think you mean Za Cradford!
The closing shot is fire
yes it is loved it!
Same, so rad.

Happy Erik found Sweetens. He’s a perfect fit for this place. It’s special and has to be experienced to describe. Well done!!
Well said! "That prestige factor...that has got golf by the balls" - it's a disease of the mind, on the mind!
So true, so true!
I fully agree with their sentiment.
100% with this comment! Well stated
Really enjoyed this, Especially the comments about "only 9 holes" at the end and I totally agree. 9 very interesting holes that can be changed around is perfect for some great golfing experience. Love what the superintendent said at the end there. Great stuff Erik!!
Love your video. In a world seemingly led by marketing and profit margin you always bring Golf back to its pure essence.
My wife and I spent a long weekend in Chattanooga over the summer and me being a Golf Geek, she "happily" agreed to swing by Sweetens on the way into town. The course was closed for a private event. Awesome ! Golf as it should more out there. No surprise Zac was around. Great Spirit. Thanks !
Love it, best vlog ever , and being with a legend clud designer Tad wow!!
That super is what golf should be about. Make it fun. Great video all around.
Holy cow! I've followed Tad Moore and Nat'l custom for YEARS. Too cool see them play
This is definitely some of the best content I have found on UA-cam
My hometown Chattanooga, TN. Such a beautiful place. Some great courses.
What a great video. You are showing the fun in golf
I loved it and I still play a 4 & 5 persimmon for 30 years thanks again Erik
That top down bunker view at the end was sweet man. What a cool little course.
You don't just watch these. With the editing and the commentary you cant help but feel like you are living through you Erik. Kudos gentlemen.
Teamwork
I love this course
Your laughs infectious Erik, another great upload. Thanks!
Mike Taylor is also the only guy Tiger trusts with his wedges! Cool little insight in the Video!
Great Quality as always, EAL!
Tad Moore is such a golf jewel!
Competitive and prestigious golf will always have a place. But this is the future of golf.
Really dig the aerial shot of the bunker and the dog. Mr. Lang you’re very talented.
agree and thank you
Heading here in early Dec. Hoping for nice weather and some good golf, can't wait!
I had my first ever round with hickory clubs last Friday and balls designed to play like 1920s balls. Tough, tough game especially in the early holes while I adjusted. Really enjoyed it, though. Makes modern golf seem easy.
Played the course last year ABSOLUTELY AWESOME!!!
So freaking awesome. The only problem is there wasn't more. What a great group of interesting guy's. Will try to check out the podcast. The ending overhead shot was brilliant!
Cool video! Live in Chattanooga and have yet to play this course. Definitely going to now!
Erik if you’re ever in the south and want to play some beautiful golf I recommend any of the courses on the Robert Trent Jones golf trail
Thats where I had my first Birdie! Played em all a few months in. Wonderful
My buddy and I played @ Sweetens last October on a Friday, and we were two of nine people who played all day! This place is serene 😊
Now they're covered up. All passes sold out in 15 minutes for the last group of passes issued. Waiting on the next release to get a spot. I live close and love tough courses.
Meanest mutton chops this side of the Mississippi
Awesome looking course
when you wake up and erik has a fresh video can't ask for a better day!
respect
Yes! Been waiting for this. Great to see Mr. Tad Moore! Thanks
Playing there in December!! Been trying to get on since this video came out
First time I have seen a nine hole with two pins per green, I have seen 9 holes with two sets of tee boxes, thats pretty cool.
By far the best golf channel!
I've heard really nice things about Sweetens Cove and the King/Collins backstory. I was hoping to get a better feel for the place through this video. What I got was, "there's nothing wrong with 9-hole golf courses", which I already knew.

Love the hickory clubs and great 9 hole course
The film and the course both win a perfect 10 on the Skeletal Golf Rating. Momma watched it all the way through.

This guy could have filmed that dog taking a shit on #9 fairway and it would have been majestic. I love these videos man...
Zac with the surprise showing!
Elliot Mitchell Such an awesome time and loved the opportunity to tee it up!!
Really been enjoying your videos.....GREAT JOB......I also LOVE to play courses with character...I have a suggestion for you.... DUNWOODIE GOLF COURSE, Yonkers NY......If you play in Sept or October you will see a few dozen wild turkeys in the fairways.....
I have a couple old woods in the basement, this video inspired me to take them to the range the next time I go.
The ending shot 🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌
“That prestige factor that has golf by the balls is what we’ve let go of”..... fantastic statement and ambition!
Love the story love the people love the course. i would love to play it one day.
That drone shot of the dog was wicked
"Screw the rules...make it fun" perfectly said
I'm not sure if they still have the all day deal, but you can't beat it. It was $100 play all day - as many holes as you can get in. Really fun course.
Guess the true beauty of a golf course is in the players

whats the music in this one?
9 holes. Cool!!'

Love the dog on the course

Great work!
Keep up the good work! Great mix of golf, with a wonderful artistic style, you deserve more subs.
Was that thee Tad Moore? What a legend. I absolutely adored His Maxfli range of putters in the 90s
Yes
@@RandomGolfClubFilms You know some bloody cool people Eric. Love what you do 👍
I guess that dog is lucky Mr. Pater didn't skull that one @ 4:40 !
that outro was actual art
So, did he hit the green?
for real. need to know. did he?
He hit the green.
I grew up on a 9 hole golf course, on base, Indian Head, Maryland. 50 years later, I moved to a city with a 9 hold golf course. I'm home.
The same company that did sweetens cove is gonna do Zac Blair’s “Buck Club” in Morgan, Utah in the mountains.
King Collins Golf
Great video! Where are your sunglasses from?
Again love your videos if you ever come to Nashville,Tn I'd love to show you around and play a course maybe The Hermitage...its the nicest public course around
Who chooses the music for your channel? I've found some great songs from your videos that I would have never heard of
S Lynch where did you find the names of the songs
@@braedynschramm3648 I've used shazam. I play it on my smart tv and use my phone to recognize. I've done it on a few episodes
What song is at the beginning?
Super cool 9 hole course in Cincinnati called Wyoming Country Club. Built in 1898. Come check it out Erik!
What bag was Tad rocking there
Love these dudes
I wish hickory wasn’t so expensive to get into. I say this as I have less than a few hundred dollars in my gamer set. If I were to be able to find a gameable set what ball would you suggest using?

Is anyone going to mention the shot at 4:40.. over the dog!! O_O
Is that THE Tad Moore? Great show, preferred his blade putters' range than any Scotty...
Btw Peyton Manning and Andy Roddick just bought this course. Really amazing to see Erik play on my home course
whats the deal with gray grass?
This. Is. Awesome.
I used to play with balata balls. Love them but they can go out of round after just one hit sometimes.
What’s the name of the song in the intro?
These are the guys who you would love to play golf with.
wait a minute, mike taylor from artisan golf tx designed the taylormade hi-toe wedge? or he made prototypes like it years ago and now it's a trend? i can't find any evidence to the former online. i'd love to know! Anyone able to comment?
First timers take a shot of whiskey "what an introduction" I would play here.
U know that u saw Hazeltine that one video about a mile away the chaska town course is there and that is my home course u should play it some time Eric
Another great vid.
The comment re: modern golf just crunching numbers runs deep ...
Erik, you should come play the courses down here in Palmetto Dunes in Hilton Head, SC. We have a Robert Trent Jones, George Fazio and Arthur Hills course. I can get you on all three beautiful courses for free. Anytime you want.
