Nothing's changed, the only thing stopping another attack like we just had is literally no one feeling like it. It's very easily possible unfortunately. We all know the solutions, yet the city is dragging its feet.
I have worked in the French Quarter over 15 years. I walk in and out of the Quarter daily. It sure does not feel the same. You see more of what can be done for safety. I have been taking pictures to keep record and to see if any changes are done. One big issue is Jackson Square. They put up these plastic stoppers that whole water. It took them over a week to fill them up. Before the stoppers was there regular cars, police cars, workers cutting though there. Since they stopped the traffic from going though the workers in these gulf carts are cutting though on the side walk and the steps by the iron fence. Some of these workers work for the city.
That's not safety they still lacking that whole French quarter needs to be redesign for safety whats it really gonna take for them to learn this should have been it I was going to the zulu ball I'm not even going to that everything is just to fresh these people may have an oranginazation here who knows its just to much for me and I like to have a good time but my life comes first
There is random shootings and car break ins often but that happens frequently in cities all over the country. This was different, and the complete vibe of the great French quarters is definitely not the same. This is my home away from home and I just visited again a few days ago. You can just feel that everyone is on edge. I know it will eventually be ok, but right now it’s just not
you mean that on friday nights families can't push baby carriers at 11 pm and not spend any money on bourbon street? this past summer there were very few tourists at night, just locals walking and taking up space, bad for business. oh, the area on canal and rampart to bourbon, will that change? i hope so. i called it "the okay corral".

Real creepy alright. Lot creepy about that one…
Hopefully Nola will be off the radar after the Super Bowl and Mardi Gras. Which is a good thing. Until then I'm laying low
