That old lady seems so awesome :D
"I'm sorry my cooking is so amazing"
That lady is a gangster!
+Veggie Gamer Hahaha isn't she great
Veggie Gamer AHH Veggie-chan ohayo!
Veggie Gamer She deserves a medal
s
It kind of makes me uncomfortable when people brag about themselves. But it really shouldn't. If someone is amazing at something and put a lot of effort into it, they should be able to be proud of their work.
she seems like such a sweet old lady! I just want to hug her lol
I can tell your host really enjoyed having you there! She probably misses having a daughter around to take care of, cook for, and teach. It looks like you guys had a nice time!
_The ending almost made me cry_ XD
Rosie me too 😳
Rosie it's making me tear up. I don't even know why😭
Rosie I definitely teared up... it was very sweet :')
_It felt like family_ ;-;
same T-T
Okaasan is so very sweet. This looks like it was such an amazing experience. I loved the video. :-)
This was so lovely to watch! What an amazing experience!
I love it when Sharla goes on really authentic Japanese adventures.
You are so sweet. I’m a homestay mum and I can bet they loved you.....what a sweetheart and a good homestay mum you are. I have a Japanese girl coming soon.
Sharla, this video is great!! I absolutely LOVED the introduction! Learning/Trying out new formats? Looking more and more "professional"! When I get to Japan, I'm definitely spending my time in Tohoku! I laughed at the "176th time you've heard oiishi". ;) Can't wait for part two!!
this looks like an amazing time and place. nature at its best. the elders are really something
This might be one of my favourite videos of yours! Such a great glimpse in the japanese culture. Okaasan is so nice and her food looks amazing. Im drooling here!😋 Im looking forward to part 2 but how can it top okaasan and farm life? Thank you so much for this video 💕
My respects to her and the others who farm. It's actually hard work. It's so rewarding knowing the food one eats, you helped grow. The spread looked delicious.
It looks like you speak Japanese so well. It must feel very empowering to talk to the locals in their own language.
That is just the kind of video I like the most! Thank you so much. We plan to go back to northern Japan and now I really want to do a home stay on a farm!
She's so cute at the end i almost cried :')
I think this has made my top ten favorite vids that you have made
they must be cute
get it cuz theyre called the kawai family sorry
Aidan Quillen that is exactly what I thought rsrsrs
3:40 Sharla I agree with another comment that it's likely a different dialect. I can tell she's saying something about being on the edge of something and mixing up something as well. Most likely how she's throwing the seed along the string line there and how it turns into the soil? I think lots of viewers might not realize there are different dialects across Japan. Thanks for the great video! Tomato was hilarious!
The old lady is so adorablee
I️ hate videos that makes me teary. You are an amazing young woman to have experience these as most don’t have a chance. Thank you.
Delicious food is a truly special pleasure, especially after physical work. ^^ Everything looks so wonderful.
Hey Sharla! I just wanted to congratulate you because this videos's intro, and the rest of it of course, looked really professional! Not that your other videos are not. You got some skillz gurl! You are really good at what you do :)
Awwwww i can't they are just an amazing and cute family that she has stayed with 💗
OMG!!! I love this video, it shows so much how Japanese live and how they do some things, and I really like how you adjusted to their lifestyle, it's so amazing! I hope I can have experience like that, because I would really like to visit Japan someday!!! ^^
For people wanting to travel to Tohoku on a budget, the Shinkansen can be very expensive, but I had an excellent experience with willer bus company! Sure it was a long day of travel, but the bus was very comfortable, made convenient stops and was less than half the price of the Shinkansen!
Really good. Sharla. Pls do more video like this culture and taste experience.
Okaasan looks like such a nice lady! She's super sweet and I really wanna taste her food. 😋😋😋
I had a (sort of) country homestay in September. I stayed in Tome, in north Honshu for 4 days. The dad was a Shinto priest, and I saw a lot of the spiritual stuff. It was really cool.
Wow that was so sweet. Makes me miss my japanese mother-in-law. Great video!!
Japan loves you so much.
That opening though!!! I loved it 🤘🏽🤘🏽👌🏽👌🏽
My mouth is watering watching this!
田舎の人って、手作りでたくさんの種類の料理を作るよね〜☝️野菜もたくさん😆looks so yummy😋😋And your host family is sooo nice. 👍
this actually means the world to me! I've looked into WWOOFing in Japan before but this is just as amazing.. All I want to do is learn more about farming. thank you
this is so amazing!!! I love this. this is my first time watching your channel and I love it. earned a new subscriber.
OMG THEY SEEM SO NICE AND SWEET AND FUNNY
What sweet darling people!! You too! Thank u
I actually have 2 of those persimmon plants in front of my house and I think they are sweet when ready. I'm in central California people would always ask to pick some when they walk by my house. BTW love your dimples
i love grandmas
That looks so relaxing
Did they make everything vegan for you or is it just the way they usually eat? :O
She said it was her first time cooking completely vegan, but in general it doesn't differ much from their usual diet! She replaced the fish broth with mushroom broth, so I think that was the biggest difference for her :)
Sharla in Japan wow that's pretty amazing, that she was willing to accommodate for you, and how they eat so healthy, btw everything looked super delicious and she looked like such a nice person
Sharla in Japan it looks so AMAZING!!
I am so jealous all of that vegan food looks absolutely delicious!!
Sharla in Japan ughhh, veganism is stupid and unhealthy
@@wallacesousuke1433 its not unhealthy, it just lacks protein
I wish to go to Japan one day. I have waited for a year but I will finally be able to go at the end of 2017
this was so cute and fun to watch!!
i would love to do a homestay on a farm like that :) i would work so hard but my health is not so great so i don't think that will ever happen :'(
chaver28 aw. I hope you can reach your dreams some day ^^
thank you :D i hope so to
10 months late, but i hope your health has improved and that you can stay on a farm and eat good food as you wish! It is good for the soul 😊
chaver28 what is your problem? If I may ask, of course ;)
Me too but I am sick with a blood disease didn't let me finish college
この様な動画を通して西洋人の方に日本の文化を紹介してくださるのは日本人としてもとても嬉しいです😃
Looks like a great experience! And it must be nice to eat super fresh fruits and veggies. :) I bet that food really was oishii!
She seems like a amazing woman and a great cook :)
*takes a shot every time I hear 美味しい*
とてもシャーラさんは性格が

Have fun your journey in Japan
WOW this is amazing Sharla :) the atmosphere is so warm , I wish if I live in a home like this so compact and comfy .Good luck & please keep the good videos

Time to visit Okaasan again!
This was so cute.
This was awesome. Teared up a bit at the end because it was so cute! 😂😭
one of my fave videos of yours so far! (and I've watched a lot
Wow I'm so damn jealous of all the food there Sharla! Damn xD
I love this video. Your host is very friendly.
thats why i want to travel to japan cuz its rly similar to my cultur and i love this nice respectful living there definitely i will travel once to japan :D
That looked fun! So many "oishiis" LOL. Had no idea you could fry rice balls like that.
Loved that bit at the end. :)
You said the soup was made with edamame instead of soybeans. But aren't edamame a type of soybean? That's how they market them in the U.S. anyway.
So nice to hear speak japanese hahah !!!! Love it!!
も〜 ご飯が美味しそうすぎる、やばいほどなぁ!超食べたくなりますわ〜 羨ましい!
I wonder how old Okasaan is? The food looks filling yet very light. She glows with health.
I live in Tohoku, it's amazing! Everyone should visit here as well as Tokyo/Kyoto :)
This looks so cool, now I wish I didn't choose to stay in a bland hotel. Such experience
Awww she seems so sweet & oishisou!! Haha
Love this video so much!
1:34 Is that your boyfriend?
Swanna 😔
what?? but he looks old.... i don't think is her boyfriend
Marina Diamandis I dont know, he may just look old. I mean, some people look older or younger than their appearance
赤羽総悟 looks like she's married or engaged ? She has a big ring on her finger
Okaasan is super cool. She was so nice and really funny, too.
I'm really interested to find out how dry ice removes bitterness from the persimmons (and presumably other foods as well). Any clue?
And damn... you have the coolest life ever.
So nice Japanese home stay... 😊✌
Japanese people are soooo nice wow!
Excuse me, Sharla, this is me, Ari from Indonesia. I'm interested in study about Japanese culture and I found your Video which kind a help for me to easily get to know about them. It's really delightful if you deigned to let me know about this homestay experience in detail.I love your videos, have a great day and thank you :)
is it just me or does Sharla look extra pretty in this video.
Ohh Everything looks so delicious!! Wish I was there to eat lol.. Thank you for sharing 🙏

Damn! I need me an okasaaan! Everything looks sooo good and even the farm work looks so satisfying and fulfilling
The fruit in the beginning is delicious we have a tree in our back yard

Okaasan was soooo kawaii~! Great video! ^_^
The word you learn from this video is oishii
Lol "Has she done this before or something?" Sharla indeed is a fast learner. that part had me giggling
Duuuuuuude.
Im so jelly

this is so good
Looks so yummy!
Omg 30 second unskippable ad for tupperware, Just let me live my life youtube!
Fell drastically far behind on all your vlogs, so while I'm catching up, I'll only comment if I have a question. But I will thumbs up every single one! Also, trying the persimmon trick! ;)
You torture me with food! IT LOOKED SO AMAZING D: I was like drooling lol
