make a challenge...for 10 or 20 dollars...what you can get in indonesia...
Peanut sate from Madura Island.
Sate sauce from Padang, West Sumatra .
Indonesia was predominantly Hindu Buddhist in the past. That's the reason why goat meat is more popular than beef. Because cows are forbidden to be eaten by Hindus .
That's the reason why they use goat sate
u should try martabak chese and coklat mix,i guaranted that u dont expected....
i thing u make one mistake...... martabak better when you mix cheese and chocolate, pienut
When I was in Indonesia ,I was thinking that Indonesia " just" delicious, but now I'm living in US, and working in restaurants, realizing Indonesia food is one of the best cuisine in the world ,and is really affordable.

Sate with peanut sauce is called Sate Madura.
Usually, chicken satay is served with peanut sauce, while goat satay is served with sweet soy sauce.
Oh it’s so good!! 😍😍
There is a good goat one there just on the intersection across restoran garuda😊
ohh, I've only had sate ayam in my recent trip in Indonesia and certainly one of my favourites among the local food, I'm curious how goat satay tastes like 👀hopefully I could try when I'm back in Indonesia
@@InvestedAdventureif you love goat meat, you should try! it is really G.O.A.T 🤣
Satay taichan is very good
Ive eat so many satay version in southeast Asia like Malaysia and Indonesia, for me Indonesian version hit different. I cant even finish my satay in Malaysia because the meat arent juicy and very hard to chew, Malaysian version just lack of tastines on their sauce. Indoe sian version much much better ❤❤❤❤
interesting- what's the best satay you had? I think Sate Ayam is for me! Looks like I gotta try other versions of satay as well.
@@InvestedAdventure Goat satay with sweet soy sauce is the best. It's my favorite anyway than chicken and beef satay
Indonesian satay is better than Malaysian satay, you said? Sure, you eat at the place where satay itself was “invented”. Just like when you eat pizza, it will taste better in Italy than in North America.
Very agree with U....❤
My Most favourite satay Madura n satay Padang (Indonesia)
I'm sooo glad and relieved that you guys tried that specific martabak manis in this video, because the martabak you guys ate in the previous video is a modern martabak, while in this video is a traditional martabak. Happy that you guys tried both tho! As an Indonesian, i'm trully enjoyed your adventure in Indonesia. Stay healthy and happy, guys! Hope you can explore another region of Indonesia in the future
It was so yummy!!
I'm Indonesian, and I live in England now to pursue my postgraduate studies and watching you guys in Jakarta my hometown, makes me feel like I wanna go back just for a while to my home. Really miss all the food there! And it's definitely true that most Western people really like Martabak! As you know, I had a potluck with my fellow students and lecturers to celebrate the end of the semester. I made cheese and Nutella Martabak and brought it to the event, and my Martabak got nominated as the best food by my lecturer, he's British anyway. He said this food is very tasty, chewy and unique 😄
I hope you enjoyed your time in Indonesia, cheers!
Hehe ah that’s so nice!! You’re definitely right - there’s something so different and unique about Martabak - perhaps we should have tried the cheese version to get a “real” taste but wow it was SO GOOD!
I saw you tried Tahu Campur here mate! It's actually a "hidden gem" food that you will never find in any Indonesian restaurant abroad. It comes from east Java.
It was nice! 😊
Indonesian viewers - you can press CC then go to settings > captions > auto translate for subtitles 🇮🇩
Thank you to Dylan and Andriana for coming to Jakarta, Indonesia.. there are many big cities in Indonesia such as Jakarta, Bandung, Yogyakarta, Surabaya, Lombok (Labuan Bajo), Komodo Island and others... thank you for promoting Indonesia through your UA-cam channel..
My new favorite channel! Greetings from Indonesian based in Japan. Really miss my country. Thank you for the video, guys
Thank you so much!! ❤️❤️
There is no intestines in Sate Ayam.. that is chicken skin.
You guys have to try *"STMJ"* (eS Tay eM Jay) >> *S* usu *T* elor *M* adu *J* ahe (Milk Egg Honey Ginger).. a delicious healthy Indonesian traditional drinks..
😊
😍😍oooooooh sounds good!
I think what you have is only Jahe (ginger), susu (plain cow milk), and SusuKentalManis SKM (condense milk, which is not milk, it just sugar). In other place they drink it with raw egg white little one (it called telur kampung in bahasa) not condense milk but with honey. You should try it in the place that sell STMJ, but it not for every one i warn you.
Btw there is a derivatife of susu jahe that you already drunk, it called SEKOTENG and also RONDE, you should try it, if you came across. Easily you find it in Bandung, West Java. But you can find it in jakarta also. Happy hunting.
mereka pikir usus, keliatannya ga dihabisin. lagipula usus sama kulit beda tekstur masa ga bisa bedain 🤣
That's not skin, it's fat.
Came across you channel cause you’re here in my hometown.. now i’m binge watching ur videos. Enjoy wonderful Indonesia!❤
Wohooo!! That’s awesome 😍
13:17 mungkin dia pikir aneh coklate campur dengan keju...seperti umumnya orang eropa menganggap cokelat+keju itu sangat aneh...padahal kalau dia mencoba mixing keju coklate dalam martabak dia akan merasakan suatu pengalaman baru yang ternyata enak banget 😂😂😂
It's nice to see you guys really enjoying local tastes. Welcome to Indonesia and have a great adventure!
Thank you 😍😍
I'm your new viewer, I'm glad you always enjoy what you just experienced, you guys make great videos, I enjoy the videos❤
Thank you so much!! 😍😊
Walau kami tinggal di Australia, restaurant Indonesia di sini adalah suatu hal yang mewah bagi kami. Thnx for your video.
Thank you for watching! 🥰
Enjoying this amazing series guys! Wishing you all the best ❤️
Thanks so much!! ❤️😍🤗
@Waseemsway sama makan favorit mu Martabak manis🎉
Sate means Skewer, and across the country there's a lot of different Sate Style.
I see that some comments already explained the difference between Sate Padang and Sate Ayam.
I want to point out that the soft textured meat on the Sate Ayam is most likely Chicken Skin instead of Intestine, bc AFAIK Sate Ayam don't usually include Chicken Intestine in it. The style of Sate with Chicken's Liver, Intestines, and Innards are not usually the Peanut Sauce Sate Ayam style. You can find those innards Sate as side dishes in Bubur Ayam or Soto Ayam places.
Ah yes interesting!! Thank you for the info 😍
I want to explain the same thing, it not intestine, most likely it was chicken skin. It make the satay moist and oilly.
for satay, in the middle is not intestine but its chicken skin
Oh. My. Goodness!!! You were RIGHT in Food Heaven there !! Adooore this video and am just waiting to be beamed over to Jakarta, go over to that street and indulge in all that goodness!
It wa sooooooo good 😍😍😍
Yeaaah! Sate Ayam is one of my favourites in Indonesian food too!! It's definitely a must-try when you're in Indonesia 👌🏼
Ooooh yes so good!! 😍😍
Your Indonesian adventure is so awesome I’m super loving it, can’t wait for more 😊😍👍
Wohoo! Cheers 😍😍
I'm from Indonesia, and I recently came across your UA-cam channel. I really enjoyed your genuine reviews-they were so cheerful and authentic! I hope you get a chance to revisit Indonesia and explore other cities too. Keep up the great work!
Glad you like them! Thank you!
Looking at both your expressions when enjoying the foods are priceless. Thank you for the positive comments on the Indonesian foods!
Hehehe thank you so much!
You have very good quality of camera. And good editing skill. I respected it.
I appreciate that!
Enjoy youre trip in indonesia both of you. Keep safe and stay healthy. God bless😊
Thank you so much 😊
Loving these vlogs as Java could well be my next trip. I'm also a vegetarian so finding there is plenty of veggie food is quite reassuring. Like Adriana I have spent quite a bit of time in the Netherlands and it does look like there are a few borrowed words & some other words familiar from eating Indonesische food there.
Oh yeah there’s definitely quite a bit of food options 😍 you’re right - there’s a fair few of borrowed words! So interesting to see!
yooo guys...i love your tour and watch so many Indonesian videos recently...its so healing
4:59 her eyes and when she said yea yea, adoreable !!!!
Hehehe 😊😊
well... what i can tell you is padang is not beef, its a city in west sumatra known for its beef rendang and chicken satay (sate)... so sate padang basically means, padang's satay. Hope you enjoy all of the other indonesian foods! dont forget to try beef rendang indomie!
Oh I see!! I tbibk it was beef though in this cas ehehe 😊
@@2Passports1Dreamor padang style sate. You'll also find Sate Madura (madura is also an island, it's sate usually has kecap (soy) sauce and peanut). Can be chicken, beef, goat.
Padang sate. Instead of peanut+soy sauce, it's a broth/curry like. Usually beef and cow's lungs.
Sate Taichan, mostly chicken, doesn't have sauce, however it's served with sambal and salty stuff (I think it's mushrooms)
Sate Lilit, this one Balinese style sate.
And others.. these are the most common ones.
The middle part of the chicken sate is chicken skin. Sate Padang uses curry like sauce and lots of pepper.
it's so fun watching you guys both had fun eating delicious foods. you should go to all the regions in indoensia. we have variety of foods
You definitely do! 😍
i really loke to see your videos guys, i wish i could help you all about the food such as the different between Sate Ayam and Sate Padang, and Goreng is a fried. Thank you for coming and enjoy Indonesia, mate, i am Joey from Jakarta
For fried chicken that have air conditioning , ayam goreng suharti, just turn to the opposite road towards the church instead of turning to sabang road.😊❤
your prounounce so good, just like locals. Hope you enjoy your trip here, please come again in future and explore another side of indonesia.
Thanks! 😃
Please try Martabak chocolate and cheese next time . The sound it’s strange combination but you will love it .
Oooooh next time!! 👀😍
Up
Terima kasih kalian memperkenal kan makanan Indonesia ke seluruh dunia.. enjoy Indonesia
😊❤️
I believe Adriana as a vegetarian would LOVED Kembang Tahu, that is sell at the same food truck of Susu Jahe (ginger milk). You guys should try it next time ❤
Ooooh next time!! Thank you!
You must try Gado-gado for lunch in Jakarta
Yeah they can hop on the elevated rail krl metro... after they exit their hotel.. little walk to left minutes... is gondangdia station, one hop to cikini station, where you can find one of the oldest gado gado store in jakarta, with chinese indo baba twist... gado gado bonbin...
There is also one oldest japanese restaurant too over there... opened by a once japanese soldiers stranded on the big war... kikugawa...😊
Thank you for the suggestion! 😊

So good! 😍😍
My recomendations food around Jakarta
1. Soto Betawi: There are many legendary soto betawi, this was beef with coconut milk broth
2. Gado-gado bonbin, salad version of Indonesia, all vegetables with peanut sauce, little bit expensive
3. Baso Akiaw, meet balls with soup and noodles
4. Martabak Pecenongan, there are two versions, sweet try chocolate, peanut, cheese and sesame, savory try beef
5. Nasi goreng kebon sirih, legendary mutton fried rice
6. JCo Donnuts, this like the best donnut ever
7. Try as many as possible for coffee shop, theres a lot of good coffee like tomoro coffee, kopi tak kie, kopi kenangan. Try coffee with brown sugar or just black iced coffee
Gado gado Boplo most famous
9:09 in the middle part of satay actually is chicken skin, you can asked for all meat to the seller (abang-abang = mas = big brother) 😊
😍😍
5:57 they use shrimp paste for the sauce
11:49 and it is ginger milk, because jahe means ginger in English
Love Terang Bulan / Martabak Manis Indonesian best dessert.
Soooooo tasty!!
The first satay that you tried was sate Padang. Padang is the capital city of West Sumatra, where this food comes from. The sauce is curry sauce.
The second satay you had was sate Madura, which comes from Madura.
You should have the martabak with cheese. It may sound strange to you to have a dessert with cheese. But, while you are in Indonesia. You should give it a go. It will blow your mind up.
I'm Indonesian, but I'm in the UK now. I miss Indonesian food like crazy.
Oh I see!!
regular sate is using sweet soy sauce based *usually used on goat or beef
for chicken usually using peanut based sauce
.
for sate padang, padang is region from sumatra island on indonesia usually using something like curry based sauce
.
on east java region there's sate using peanut based sauce but had some mix of coconut
thank you for coming to indonesia.
i really love your videos.
keep up the good work.
thanks ❤
Thank you! 😃

Martabak Manis…Sweet Martabak, whatever with peanut+chocolate, chocolate+cheese or else….it’s so so so good 🥰
Damn it you guys made me salivating! Adriana was right, susu jahe is so good for your health, very warming, perfect for chilly night. Yes that middle part of satay ayam usually use skin or intestines. Can’t wait for another edit across Java
It was so delicious!! 😍😍
Welcome and enjoy traveling in indonesia my brother and sister
The middle of the Chicken Satay is the chicken skin, not the intestine. For me, I really like the Chicken Satay with the peanut sauce. I hope you enjoy the food here in Indonesia
Oh that makes sense! It was so tasty 😍
Indonesia yang kaya akan rempah-rempah dan itu tidak disangkal lagi semenjak dulu ..sebagai bumbu untuk membuat makanan atau minuman apapun akan terasa lezat bagi lidah orang manapun didunia ini..
Iam enjoy your video love from Indonesia🇮🇩

Oh interesting!! Thank you 😊 oh yes martabak is sooooo good 😍
No. Sate padang usually use beef and beef tongue.
oh sorry. i think its chicken because its size of beef like chicken meat
Love your video and bravery. Thank you for trying the local delicacies. Sending all the love from Jakarta
Thanks for watching!
Padang is a name of city in Indonesia.
Sate Padang Made from organ of cow (tongue, lungs, etc)and traditional food from Padang .
I love tahu campur, u must be to mix petis (shrimp or fish paste) with everythings in the plate for sure with sambal also.
If u eat sate for the next time u must be ask to who sale thats food about need pickle they give for free.
Susu jahe try with duck egg also. mostly good if with milk no condense milk.
For the first time foreigner eat martabak without cheese. U must be try to order martabak telor, savory martabak.
Oh interesting! Thank you!
Hahahah i know combining chocolate and cheese must be weird for you but i promise for martabak you need to try that combination because i guaranteed you that it will be great
Ps : in Indonesia the cheese that commonly used for desaert were not like in europe, it is more into sweet side, thats why you can see a lot of our dessert using cheese as one of the ingerdients
I thought the same.. it’s not beef but more offal from beef 😬
Welcome to jakarta, recommended for you to visit kota tua especially at 06.00pm ❤🙏🏻
with sate ayam (chicken skewer) that is not intestine but that is chicken skin...i love that part of the sate 😀
I immediately subscribed from the first time I watched your video..thank you for visiting my beloved Indonesia..from your character & cheerfulness, I haven't found this in other vloggers..thank you Dylan & Adriana ..always be successful..always be healthy & live long ❤️🥰😎
Thank you so much 😊
Martabak manis with chocolate + peanut is perfect combine. You can choice half choco peanut and half cheese. It's perfect
Hehe cheese sounds interesting but we loved peanut and chocolate 😍😍😍
Yup youre right ginger milk next level is good for healthy too....tip for you use your magic hand to stop vehicle when you crossing streets....you just raise up your hand they will stop....even in crowded trafic....
It’s so good!!! Oh haha thank you - we will try that!
Tq so muck to your video, enjoy Indonesian countri ❤
Sate just simply means "skewers" in Indonesia. Sate Padang is beef skewers from Padang. Sate ayam = chicken skewers, so anything can be sate as long as you put it on a stick.
I just found your chanel yesterday and I like your attitude when Trying Indonesian food 👍🙏🙏😍
Thank you! 😃
To me, street food is the way to go in any country! (I rarely eat in restaurants in Asia or Latin America.) Not just because it's inexpensive, but because that's where you're going to find the food that the locals are eating, which is a big part of travel. I still remember the first time I tried satay in Singapore in 1991: what a revelation! 👏
Soooooo true!! We completely agree 😍 it’s a brilliant way to get a different and new view of the country or city you’re visiting 😍
yeaaah gotta agree! I do go on street food tours in my travels. I also believe that's how you taste the authentic local food. 👌🏼
great video! I'm going to book myself a flight to Jakarta just for the food at this street!
😍😍😍
If u buy martabak manis, you must try chocolate, cheese, and peanut, don't afraid with the cheese, trust me, but remember dont use white sesame. It will be the best martabak original
Good to see tourism videos of this beautiful couple....
Thank you! 😃
Have you ever eaten nasi gudeg, a typical Jogja food. From Indonesia with love 🇮🇩❤️.
The Martabak Manis you try is also known as Terang Bulan. Lucky you try the original, chocolate with nuts (the original one using sesame seed, but now days it using peanuts, more easy to gets). Other topping you guys should try is choco with cheese. It strange for foreigners, but try it, it salty and sweet at the same time. Choco with banana is good too. And in more modern place the pancake batter is green in color (they called pandan) and red (they called red velvet).
Oh cool!! Thank you for the info 😍
Terima kasih banyak telah berwisata di negara kami, aku dari Indonesia bagian timur maluku, semoga harimu menyenangkan, 🎉❤❤

You should try going to PIK 2 which is north of Jakarta, an interesting place to visit
15:20 that statment make me goosebump 🥶 good choice you order the classic martabak manis kacang & coklat 🥰 when foreigners say "OH WOW" that mean tasty 👍🏼 enjoy Indonesia 🇮🇩 guys
It was sooooo good 😍😍
You are correct, some Chicken Satay vendors do mix the chicken parts for texture variation, in my place you can order specifically only chicken meat, but only like 2K more expensive
I prefer mixed tho, especially when chicken skin, and chicken liver is involved
Good call on getting the martabak one more time, probably not the best one but probably better than the one u guys had before
It was SO GOOD!
Those "fried onion/garlic" on some of the dishes that you had was actually fried shallots. also, the Satay Padang is different style from the satay with peanut sauce, but most of satay Padang uses beef tongue, that's why the texture is so soft and tender. When it's chewy, they probably mix it with beef meat too. :)
Oh I see!! Thank you! 😊
Thank you for such a nice video eating the best Indonesian street food 👍
It was soooo good 😍
I hope you enjoy and have a good experience here 🙏
Thank you!!
There are two kind of Sate
Sate ayam Madura with peanut sauce
Sate Padang with some kind of flour ( like jelly sauce ) with spices
😍😍
Indonesia street food Surabaya city .. good job RAWON ..
i almost visit sabang street food when in jakarta, i stay in ibis hotel at wahid hasyim which is very close to sabang street food and grand indonesia ♥
Oh amazing 😊😍
Hi dylan & Adriana, I hope u enjoy in Indonesia, have a Nice day And god bless you✨
Thank you so much!😊
It would be best if you tried 'sate kere', which means 'satay of the poor'. It's satay for vegan and it's a popular street food in Solo. It's made from tempe gembus. Gembus is tofu dreg. But don't be mistaken with the sate kere which comes from Yogyakarta. It has the same name but is made from cow fat.
Jakarta is huge area (divide 5 major districts; north, south, central, west, east area) now u stay in Central Jakarta, Sabang is Culinary area near ur hotel, when in Jakarta worth to try Betawi Cuisine; Soto Betawi, Nasi Ulam, Gado2 (likes salad 🥗 Boplo or Cemara, Kerak Telor, Laksa Jakarta, Nasi Uduk etc. now ur eat it likes; Tahu Campur (Tahu Tek2) Sate Ayam it’s from East Java, Martabak Manis (sweet pancake’s) from Bangka island, hope u enjoy diversity of food from other regions
We Indonesians love our food and drinks to be spicy and sweet, and the levels can be quite intense. So if you don't like things too spicy or sweet, make sure to order them less so. As far as I remember, there are three types of sauce we use for satay dishes: peanut sauce, sweet soy sauce with chili slices (commonly used on beef/goat satay), and Padang sauce (a mix of curry and other herbs, called Padang because it originally came from West Sumatra province).
If you're trying to find vegan dishes with peanut sauce, here are some menus to try: "pecel" (without chicken/catfish), "gado-gado," and "karedok." As an added note, some sellers add shrimp paste to their peanut sauce. A variety of vegan menus can also be found at "warteg/warung Tegal" or "warsun/warung Sunda."
When crossing the street, raise your hand; the vehicles will either stop or slow down, allowing you to cross (of course, this doesn't apply to all streets; you must cross following the rules). Keep exploring, stay healthy, and thanks for the great videos.
We love spicy and sweet 😍😍😍
Ya what 😮 2 videos in 24 hours. We are super spoilt today 😀
