This was in Oakland, California in 1977! Great band unfortunately all the original members have all passed away. But what a great band!!
My favorite band. Forever
It's a break-up song, saying good-bye to a romantic partner who deserves a tender see-you-later. When you're counting guitars, please don't forget to include the bassist, Leon Wilkeson, who practically breaks his fingers plucking those heavy bass cables in that incomparable stretch near the end. A-#1 performances by every member. What a day to have been in Oakland Coliseum!!! A much more entertaining ending than the studio version (slow fade-out); love the piano still audible over all the drums and guitars!
I really enjoy your reactions, it’s nice to see young people discovering music from the past and appreciating what they hear as compared to today’s music. Would like to see you react to

Nice ❤
The sound the guitarist is making at the beginning is a bird chirping.
I Saw the same Tour in Denver , same clothes , same Stage, same Pussy. I was 17.
Allen Collins in all white, his wife put the question to him "If i leave here tomorrow would you still remember me" Thats how they got it.
Skynyrd is Southern Rock Royalty. Pretty Incredible story from the bands start in 1964 as My Backyard and then became Lynyrd Skynyrd in 69. Released their 1st album in August 73. Called Pronounced Leh nerd Skin nerd This song is on that album.
On July 2nd and 4th 1977 they played in Oakland, they called these yearly concerts A Day On The Green. There were 4 bands that day. Tragically the bands plane crashed near McGill, Mississippi on October 20th 1977 killing lead vocalist Ronnie Van Zant guitarist Steve Gaines in red pants and backup singer Cassie Gaines sister of Steve, as well as Road Manager. Dean Kilpatrick and both pilots.
You may have heard Free Bird in the movie Forrest Gump when Jenny almost fell of the balcony.
Try Simple Man from the same album
Thanks for the reaction.
Just ask yourself: Who was the free bird? The vocalist who sang about leaving a lover or the musicians who was unleashed in the song?
If you haven’t done so yet Hotel California by the Eagles, the live version is a great one.
My brother.
Has passed now but this was his favorite song as a kid
