Really nice, Ed. I especially like the rounded outside and the undercut inside. It's great to see you turning again. Billy Burt mentioned a while back that your lathe was down. I'm glad it's finally fixed. Take care. Bill
Beautiful bowl Ed! I know what you mean about missing your lathe. I took a little vacation a couple months ago and was about to go crazy before I got back home. Wes @ Piedra Designs
Nicely done! That piece of maple has some great character. Ed I was starting to think you forgot how to turn lol. It's been awhile since you been on the lathe. I haven't been doing any lathe work either I need to get back on it. Take care and GOD BLESS 🙏 !
Great video and thanks for giving the tool description of the tools being used. Where did you find the tool rest with a flat top? I would like to find one for scrappers and carbide tools. Thanks again for the beautiful bowl and great video.
Ha ha! Oh that was tried and quickly shot down by the boss. The lathe would be too big to use the "what....no that's not new.......I've had that old lathe for years" excuse. - Ed
Thank you Eric! It may look big on the video, but it's only 2.5" in diameter. It's both a design element and functional. The foot is big enough to give it stability, but small enough to make it look like the bowl is floating. - Ed
Thank you Darrell! I went with the Hold Fast 3" chuck system. There is an affiliate link to the one I bought off Amazon in the description. That affiliate link doesn't cost you anymore, but Amazon kicks a few pennies my way when people use the link. It's definitely worth getting one. I don't think I will ever go back to using the cole jaws! - Ed
Ya, the bowl is vonderful! Nice job, Ed. It’s good to see ya spinning chunks of wood again and making shavings!!! I was wondering why you were not turning wood for a while. Now I know it was the control board to your lathe. Whether watching you spin wood or doing other types of wood projects, it’s alway a pleasure watching what you do.
Thank you so much John! It was great to have my lathe back working. I will continue to have both turning and non-turning videos. I'm happy to hear to people do enjoy both types. Take care brother! - Ed

Thank you Bill! That part took forever, but it was an easy fix. So happy to have it working again and back to turning. Take care brother! - Ed

Thank you Ralph! I'm not sure what you mean by "tool rest with a flat top". - Ed
I would have used a broken lathe excuse to buy a bigger lathe... oh wait I did that.
Ha ha! Oh that was tried and quickly shot down by the boss. The lathe would be too big to use the "what....no that's not new.......I've had that old lathe for years" excuse. - Ed
Very nice. Good video. Curious about the size of the tenon. Pretty big for that size bowl. Is this more a design element or functional element?
Thank you Eric! It may look big on the video, but it's only 2.5" in diameter. It's both a design element and functional. The foot is big enough to give it stability, but small enough to make it look like the bowl is floating. - Ed
Great project, it turned out really nice. Which vacuum chuck did you go with? I’ve been looking but haven’t pulled the trigger yet.

Great looking bowl. Welcome back to the round world. Nothing like a world wide pandemic to shut us down for parts we must have. Well done.
