Forces in Sri Lanka is for defensive tasks mainly for internal conflicts and prevent intruders to country's maritime boundary. Some items such as submarines and frigates are for offensive tasks which Sri Lanka does not need.

It is not right to overestimate the capability of Sri Lankan forces as a Sri Lankan I can say. These jets are like toys when compare to other stealth fighter aircrafts. Other thing is Our jets are simply dropping bombs or use limited capability projectiles to destroy enemies. We do not have missile capability.

We had MIG-27,IAI KFIR and F7 fighter jets but in this moment we have only F7 fighter jets in our inventory . MIGs were totally removed from the active service and Five IAI KFIRs are being upgraded to the block 60 standard (4+ Generation fighter)and those jets will join to service soon further SLAF plan to overhaul or upgrade their MI-24 attack helicopters also but it’s not yet confirmed. By the way we don’t have any aircraft carriers 😁
