  • **The lug nuts should be torqued down to 150 foot pounds. Also, the axle nuts in my Chilton and Haynes manual say 20 foot pounds, but everywhere online shows 30 foot pounds.**
Welcome back everyone! In this video, Bob is replacing the passenger side CV Axle in his 2013 F150 STX. This guide will be similar to all F-150's ranging from 2004 to 2020. Some bolt sizes may be different across the generations, but overall it will be a very similar process. Thanks for watching and let us know in the comments what you think!

One quick tip. Sometimes that C clip doesnt release, and it takes the entire intermediate shaft out with it. If that happens, just do a quick strut removal (doesn't take long) and you'll be able to pull the entire thing out, then separate the CV axle from the intermediate shaft on the bench. (This only applies to the passenger side)

There is a C clip inside the cv axle and it will seat in the 1st groove on the splines. The O ring does get pushed back to the second notch on the spline

You literally just saved me $700. This was so easy to follow. I was replacing my wheel bearing last night and I broke off the nut due to my torque wrench not clicking. Learned the hard way. I was about to tow my truck not having any idea how to replace the cv axle, but this was the easiest video to follow.
