Thanks Hannuff . we hold in highest esteem these aces who enriched our lives and paid the highest price while performing their artistry for us.they will not be forgotten
Revisiting what are the classic days of racing. I was a fan of alot of international drivers back in the 60s and 70s. Great drivers and great personalities. Alberto Ascari was killed before I was born but now I'm going back and trying to gather more about his life in racing and his personal life. I would have loved to have met so many heroes of my childhood who were sadly later killed in accidents or have passed on by other causes. Now I look to see if any racers of this great time are on a lecture circuit, or now with COVID-19, on online forums. Like a treasure, you find greatness and need to hold on to your time with the gifts.
Just wish Cevert had been included. The Prince of Formula one. His partner withdrew from the race and never raced in a Formula one car again. It would have been Jackie Stewart’s 100th Grand Prix after which he planned to retire.
You forgot the young brother of Ricardo Rodriguez, Pedro, who was more famous than Ricardo; Killed in a non F-1 race in Germany in 1971. By the way, Ricardo died during the qualification day previous to the First Grand Prix of Mexico (F-1) in 1962. They have another brother, Alejandro, who never raced, keeping a promise made to his father.
@Apis4 As whilst it was not an factory or team test.. he was testing his new car, modified from the orginal Williams he drove. So just think it best goes here as opposed to drivers killed competeing, as he wasnt competing in a F-1 race meet when killed.
Pedro Rodriguez is missing..he died in 1971 as his teammate end some times rival Jo Siffert .He died running in first place during an exhibition race at Norisring driving and old Ferrari ,property of his friend Herbert Muller.
What about Bruce McLaren, or Jim Clark, they also died in a non-championship race. I believe Clark died in a F2 race at Hockenheim. Still nice video, RIP from the Netherlands...
Brian McGuire is a hard call.. but he was another Australian driver who went Europe with alan jones to persue F1, he was constructor as well as dirver.. but was also a privateeer, so depended on wild card and prequalifications to even race, killed in a G8 race, at Brands Hatch in 77, he was driving his F-1 car, and it for him, would have contributed to his chances of a GP start in that season.. and Wikipedia does list him as an offcial F1 fatality, whilst it was a race, perhaps it fits here.
Jim Clark, perhaps the best racing driver who ever lived, died in an F2 accident in 1968. If you're not going to include him in a video with this title, what's the point?
Hm, ok. Any driver who dies in any capacity in any motorsport for any reason is a tragedy. That Honda needed SOOO much more testing. Essentially he was gambling with his own life and sadly, he lost.
Bruce bought his first car from roger penkse and then the team became succesful after they were bought by project 6, which was owned by ron dennis thats when they became world class
We should also not forget the marshalls who died. Without them there would be no motor racing.
Really Good Vid, man.
Cause of this, this non-famous heroes will be remembered for a very long time.
I absoluteley love the sound of the F1 car at the end, brings chills to my skin.
Great tribute to great drivers.
Thank you for posting.
RIP Ricardo Rodríguez and everyone else as well. :(
A very respectful & well put together video..you have my vote! Not a crash in sight either..nice one! Thanx for posting big time!!

Awesome video - i know that we all mourn drivers like Senna and Peterson and Belloff, but these guys deserve mention too.

R.I.P. brave mens
Rest in peace guys!
Might as well include Jim Clark in Hockenheim '68 during an F2-race.
very good tribute. They were never world champions, but they paid the ultimate price too.
Thx for the informations but I think Pedro died in a sports car.
Thank you
They missed out one of the great constructors and drivers, Bruce McClaren, killed at GoodWood while testing the McClaren M8D 2nd June 1970
I think it's sadder when they die during practice than the actual race somehow
nice video. Idk if Schlesser fits the bill, but he died during a test as well.
nice video
faltó el accidente del uruguayo Gonzalo Rodriguez que murió en 11 de setiembre de 1999 en una práctica en Laguna Seca, Estados Unidos.
francois cevert !!!!
I think the song is a different version of "Theme From Harry's Game - Clannad" is it not?
um video pra não desmerecer ninguem !
todos em nome de uma paixão pela velocidade!
Pedro Rodriguez is missing..he died in 1971 as his teammate end some times rival Jo Siffert .He died running in first place during an exhibition race at Norisring driving and old Ferrari ,property of his friend Herbert Muller.
Bravo!
Hmmmm no Jim Clark
Where is Bruce McLaren
GRANDE, ELIO DE ANGELIS SEMPRE SERA O MELHOR, DE TODOS NAS PISTAS NO PIANO, UM EXEMPLO À SER SEGUIDO.
Racing champions are like soldiers who goes to war, they don't know if they are going to make it.
What about Bruce McLaren, or Jim Clark, they also died in a non-championship race. I believe Clark died in a F2 race at Hockenheim. Still nice video, RIP from the Netherlands...
Didier Pironi died during a motorboat race and Bruce McLaren died in a CanAM car.
Both not in F1 ;)
hey ! Fancois Cevert?
Brian McGuire is a hard call.. but he was another Australian driver who went Europe with alan jones to persue F1, he was constructor as well as dirver.. but was also a privateeer, so depended on wild card and prequalifications to even race, killed in a G8 race, at Brands Hatch in 77, he was driving his F-1 car, and it for him, would have contributed to his chances of a GP start in that season.. and Wikipedia does list him as an offcial F1 fatality, whilst it was a race, perhaps it fits here.
thx for all the nice comments
What about Roland Ratzenburger? Often overlooked because it was the same weekend as Ayrton Senna, but during practice.
Music?
Alberto Ascari?
Rodriquez accident was a championship event, trying to get pole at his home race
RIP
Jim Clark, perhaps the best racing driver who ever lived, died in an F2 accident in 1968. If you're not going to include him in a video with this title, what's the point?
Jim Clark?
ok it was a F2- Car but he was also a great F1-Driver
i missed him in all the others Tributevideos and hope he is in this Video... :-/
what song name?
Clannad - Theme from Harry's Game
What happened at 0:43? Looks like an attack!
Harry Schell "having a drink", 50s style.
Gilles Villeneuve, Jim Clark, Bruce McLaren,
Jim Clark didn't die in an F1 car. He died during a race at hockenheim in a lower class of racing. Bruce McLaren died at goodwood
McLaren tested a Can_Am car, not F1 one.
Michele Alboreto???
In an Audi LMP1 car
He's not in F1 anymore when he died.
Hm, ok. Any driver who dies in any capacity in any motorsport for any reason is a tragedy. That Honda needed SOOO much more testing. Essentially he was gambling with his own life and sadly, he lost.
igual es lo mismo, merecía estar aca como homenaje, si fueras uruguayo me entenderías
Maria de Villota
I can understand why he took the spot. Hell, I would've! So, his son wasnt any good then?
ricardo rodruiguez forever
They didn't die in an F1 car, I guess that was the idea of this video.
Didn't Bruce McLaren die testing a car?
It was a Can-Am car he tested. Nobody has died in McLaren F1 car, it shows something.
margus kiis Still he and others named in the comments should be included.
Bruce bought his first car from roger penkse and then the team became succesful after they were bought by project 6, which was owned by ron dennis thats when they became world class
Spanner!
My dad is Senna's f
