Lane splitting between parked cars at a stoplight when done correctly is not dangerous and is in fact better for the biker since it eliminates the chance of them getting rear ended by someone on their phone as well. Not just this, but they’re one less vehicle you as a car have to wait behind.
Edit: i meant to say lane “filtering” not splitting.

Sometimes the problem is it’s more complicated than that. Anytime one decides to ride a motorcycle. It’s always going to be dangerous. When it comes to lane splitting or just filtering forward at a stop it is a hit and miss. It’s always dangerous no matter how you look at it. It’s always one giant death trap. Although in some cases that can actually be safer to go to the front then to stay behind the car considering one can end up getting rear ended. It’s a pretty strange truth, but sometimes the truth, despite being debatable, depending on circumstances, can be stranger than even something fictional. When it comes to ride a motorcycle, here’s what I would suggest looking at it like this that one can never be too careful when it comes to riding a motorcycle on the streets. A motorcycle is not a car and they were never design to mix with cars, nor where they designed to be the safest around vehicles that have stuff around them. The last thing one would really want to have happen is one ending up on the ground to going into an ambulance.

Doesn't matter what's legal or not. I want to go home at the end of the day.
People are driving distracted, especially on phones and crash into you. What is an inconvenience for a car, can be lifechanging or even fatal for a motorcyclist. So being in between cars when stopped, allows a distracted or impaired driver to hit the car next to him, being it is more protected instead of him.
It is more safe to move to the space in between the lane when you come to a stop for this reason.
Not moving through traffic though, that's lane splitting.

Lane splitting is used to keep distracted drivers, (i.e. stupid people posting videos online when they should be driving) from sandwhiching an innocent motorcyclist when they fail to see that evwryone is stopped. A simple fender bender to a passenger car is not injuring the occupants. That same fender bender with a motorcycle is potentialy fatal. It's amazing how many people don't see motorcycles when it is extremely vital to, yet see them all too clear when they are doing something that irks someone. Remember, distracted drivers are largely the reason why motorcycling is dangerous.

Lane filtering is legal in Arizona. Lane splitting is not and this video is not a lane split it is lane filtering. It is meant to protect the rider from rear end collisions. Not just so people get butt hurt because he skips the line. If he was in front of you and you got rear ended he would have turned a motorcycle sandwich and they don’t taste great. But you are allowed to voice your opinion and I respect that. Thanks for sharing your thoughts.

Research has shown that lane filtering is much safer than being in traffic. Whether it is legal or not.@@TheRoamingDad

you don’t know what you are talking about old man, statistics have shown that lane splitting and lane filtering are not only just as safe as regular lane cruising but actually have caused major reductions in motorcycle crashes and fatalities in the states as to which it is legal in and this is already well known over seas as lane splitting is pretty much legal everywhere. Maybe do a little research instead of bitching bc you got scared of a bike coming by you when you were zoned out instead of paying closer attention
