I used to listen to this back when I was younger and loved this amv
I'm clinically depressed. Even on my worst days this video makes me smile. It is an excellent portrait of Haruhi capturing her quirky spirit and indomitable light which redeem her from her (many) flaws. The sequencing of clips and the way the creators made it flow is amazing. AMV's normally tend to mediocrity at best. The part between her younger self in the dark and her pirouetting with the SOS armband is glorious and often gives me goosebumps.

This anime used to rule the fucking world! Now, year after year many of this new generation of anime fans I've met have never even heard of this influential series. A shame as this remains after all these years one of my favorite anime of all time.

i want to watch it but have never got around to. ive seen an amv of haruhis disappearance i think, the amv was amazing but it made it look really sad and complicated. i dont mind sad anime usually but it just didint look like something i would like. that put me off watching it
Indeed, Haruhi was my first anime back in 2009 and it was surprisingly popular. New anime fans haven't even heard of this show, it's so sad.
My only option back in the days was to watch it illegally online (slow net & poor resolution, of course)... and I don't regret it. Now I've been struggling to find the series in English, with the European regional code (code 2). I'd love to own the physical dvds. Any idea where to buy it? Or if the European publication even exists? Can't find it being sold anywhere online 🤔

I remember finding this (and the anime itself) in high school when Haruhi was already very well established - I watched episodes in whatever order I could find them in on UA-cam. I'm 26 now. Time really does fly, but I'm glad other people keep coming back to 2000's anime like Haruhi.
I watched this as a 12 year. I'm now 19 and recently rediscovered this.This song and AMV literally transport me to that time period. I would get home and consumer a pleather of anime content, but now I struggle to do any of the things I enjoy. So much has happened since then. I've lost parts of me that I can't seem to regain, but I've also grown new aspects of myself.
To the future me,
I hope you've found happiness and success. That you've discovered meaning in your existence, and are no longer meaninglessly bobbing along. You deserve to be happy and to feel loved.

I just suddenly remembered this video existed while driving. It's been at least 12 years since I saw it only once or twice as a kid. It just _stuck_
I always forget that this show came out in freaking 2006! I keep comparing it to it's amazing movie, The Disappearance of Haruhi Suzumiya, which came out in 2010. After watching that incredible movie that turned me into a Haruhi fan, I really hope we get more Haruhi Suzumiya.
We are getting a anime from the spin off manga "The Disappearance of Yuki Nagato" next year.

i showed this to my anime club too. was trying to find this amv so wasn't sure. glad its still here. im surprised this vid even got past 1m. i didn't even know people wud even watch such an old vid. for its own time this amv was made very well and even today its still a very solid amv.

geez! I first watched this when I was 18 back at around Christmas of 2006! I liked the amv so much I used it at an anime uni convention in 2007. Now It's 2020 and I am 32 ! bloody hell!

as a kid, i wanted to like haruhi suzumiya. i bought the dvds, read fanfics but it was not my thing. this amv however is a personal fave. i watched it back in 2006 and idk what made me see if it was still on the internet now. i'm so happy it is. the timing is excellent. the lyrics all correspond so well to the clips that it's just one of those things that i love and adored even when the show had no appeal to me.

I watched this quite some time ago, and it is STILL one of the best AMV's I have ever seen! The movements line up perfectly with with song and when I think of good AMV's this is what I think of!

This song fits the character. If Haruhi, the main titular series character is so brilliant, how she not suspect something was up with her people?
Probably cause she thinks of aliens in a different form then them and cause of so she sees them as humans that and she made a team to FIND aliens soo I don't think she'd want to suspect her own friends

this is the AMV that introduced me to Haruhi Suzumiya, many years ago... I used to be SO fascinated with this video, it left me speechless... it was the best posssible introduction ever to one of the best animes of my childhood... so many feels...
