Panasonic AG-DV1000P MiniDV VCR Mechanism in Action!

This is a quick video showing the tape mechanism in the Panasonic AG-DV1000P MiniDV video deck in action. The top frame of the cassette carriage was removed for easier viewing. This is the same mechanism used in the first few Panasonic MiniDV camcorders as well.

Does ANY MiniDV deck use at least one rubber belt?

No, they need the higher accuracy that a nylon cog belt supplies.
