- Many people speculate that North West got the part in Disney's Lion King 30th Anniversary (Hollywood Bowl show) due to nepotism and being the child of celebrities. I argue why I think she actually auditioned for the show. This is an angle that I haven't heard anyone else talk about.
Definitely her parents are buying her success
My only complaint was that everyone had terrific costumes, but the one North had on made her look like big bird.

This is probably exactly what happened. It is absolutely nepotism. Nepotism doesn't necessarily mean that you bribed anyone. It means that your child was hired because of who you are and not because of their own talents.
If this child had auditioned under a fake name, she NEVER would have made it past the first audition. She probably wouldn't have even been called in to audition because she doesn't have a resume that would qualify her for any position in this cast.
But...why is she playing Simba when Simba is a male? It's called The Lion King, not The Lion Queen.
Any child who can sing the part can be cast as the part. It's not strange for a little girl to play young Simba. What is strange is for a child who can't sing to be in a Broadway musical

She shouldn't have gotten the job period. I guarantee you there were dozens more able children to do the job. It has nothing to do with talent. It had to do with who you know and publicity. Money talks....

do you think she’s taking singing lessons? Agree she doesn’t sound like a natural singer, a simpler stage role woudda been more appropriate, otherwise entitlement is learned.
It doesn’t sound like she’s had singing lessons at all. I highly doubt it. It’d be different if she were in the background somewhere dancing. But the fact that she’s lead singing and she doesn’t know how to sing is just wrong.

Isn’t it worse if she auditioned? That would make her think she had ‘won’ the part on her merit. It would give her a false sense of achievement so that when there is negative feedback the response would be ‘crushed kid’ or ‘well they are jealous because I got the audition and therefore I know I’m good.’ Either way unhealthy!
Exactly, and that’s why I pointed it out. Some people want their kids to think they won. It by merit, meanwhile the parent is finagling in the background to get them the part.
So what you're really saying is she needs some training but in the end it's privilege and nepotism right

This is a shame. I coach children in voice and music for a living and to take the opportunity away from a child who put in the hard work to train for and earn the roll and force all of the supporting cast to perform with her is just wrong. The entire performance will only be known for this kid's incompetence.
I do see your point and agreed but however let give north the credit she deserves too .. if Billy Bob came auditioning and maybe a perfect 10 but no one heard of him and north is 9.9 but everyone would come see her bc who her parents is plus they donating big to us . I wouldn’t pick north bc north is not bad just slightly a point less but get checks all of it . Who wouldn’t want north over billy Bob ?
I hear you. North wasn’t a 9.9 here. Out of all of the people who auditioned I highly doubt she was at the top of the list. I’d rather hear a kid that sings really well to be honest. It’s not about her it’s about Simba so, seeing an actor who isn’t a celebrity is better because their fame doesn’t override the character.
The Lion King is one of the most commercially and critically successful musical productions of all time. People paid four figures to see it because it has been well-loved for decades. I guarantee that no one forked that over just because of her. That audience deserved a professional performance.
She didn't audition. If she did, she wouldn't have gotten that role. This is due to Kim and her husband of owning part of that production company.
10,000 hours... simple...she has not reached it and with all of the things available to her, she can afford all the training needed to do better. 3 years old or 48 years old, this was a bad performance and it happens, but singing does not seem to be her thing. Go to any random church and you will find a 10 year old who could rock the part without any help. 10,000 hours
That’s true. And quite possibly, maybe this is her singing after 10k hours. If it is, that’s even worse. There are sooo many talented kids younger than her in church who would have ate that role up. You’re right.
Stop lying she literally had no idea what she was doing, ppl in the show said she never came to tehey,she didnt audition,her audiiwas fake she showed up with already having the part, she had no idea what to fo on that stage. I notivtalot of gay men are the ones coming to kim and north west defense, you know the gay guys who live kim and,paris hilton, more gay men are into these girls and the family then straight ppl.

God let North West be. Everyone using her to create content. I blame this on Kim and her family. Kanye never wanted her on Disney anyways.
Plus that child is creative and artistic.. maybe she didn't practice well for the role. I will also be the blame on the producers and casting directors. They should have given her lessons.
She doesn’t seem to fit the role. And she’s not a singer. She’s a person singing but she doesn’t have the gift. She needs a whole lot of practice to get a lead singing role. Years and years of practice.

She should have never gotten the role. It’s not the casting directors job to suddenly impart on her years and years of practice. Also she is not creative nor artistic, she has zero god-given talent.
