Leave jet trucks are fantastic really fast really put on a show the problem is your setup is too long about a minute and a half to two minute video is great 4 minutes halfway through I'm done never see the end of it I could care less I'm not in the racetrack where they take too long to show the run don't do all the BS that leads up to it
That's why these Jet Powered Trucks, Funny Cars, and Dragsters are Exhibition Vehicles. They get Paid to put on a Show for the Fans, Yes it takes a minute or two to get those Turbines going, And then the Fire and Smoke Show, Afterburner Pops, That's the Show for the Fans. I've been going to the Drag Races since i was probably around 6 or 7, Been watching the Big Pros with the Nitromethane burning monsters, all the way to the Saturday Night Test and Tune sessions with my Car that Started out going 14.7,s Down to the Low 9,s in the 1/4. What I'm getting at is that I've spent Many a Years at the Dragstrip, and i StIll get a kick outta the Jet Cars, even tho there only Exhibition Vehicles, Don't Race in a Professional Class, But i Still absolutely Love em. Don't Know what it is, But even as a little kid, Seeing them at Englishtown, Atco, Epping, Maple Grove, and When i was Very Young at Connecticut Dragway. I remember the Eastern Raider Team of Jet Cars at my earliest memories. No there Not the Fastest Drag Cars, They can't do Burnouts, you can't take a Jet Car for a Blast down the street, But I Still Love the Jet Cars ! What i wouldn't do for a Pratt J-60, GE J-85, to Power my Jet F/C ! The J-79 that's in This Truck is a Monster, NHRA Only allows them in the Trucks, and Only 1 of them, Unlike Shockwave which uses 3 Smaller Jet Turbines.
As an aircraft mechanic, there's nothing quite as beautiful as jet noise.
I went to Summit MOTORSPORTS Park in Norwalk, Ohio on friday and at the end, this very truck appeared and was so freaking loud and awesome!
That's so great Bob still shows that truck. I believe it's still one of his finest. Love Norwalk!
