I just got a snapper riding mower today for free, and was messing with it to get it to run. Your video solved the problem of not starting. The parking brake wasn't set. Lol.

These things are tricky, really makes no sense, you should be able to start them in neutral

These are really dependable and cheap to operate if you do your own work, seems they all need new tires or just install tubes😊

So here's what's happening.... as you let it sit, the fuel fills up the bowl and there's enough gas to get it to almost fire up and run, except for there's just not quite enough.
So at this point 23:20 you know it has spark you and know it's getting some fuel, but it just won't stay running.
What I would do is to take the air cleaner off and put some brake cleaner in the carburetor and see if it will run for just a second, which it would. That tells you it's not getting fuel and that means it's the carburetor. The end, right? Well maybe.. you see, on top of the gas cap there is a little screw, and if it's turned all the way down where it's not allowing air in, you can also have the same failure that way. I worked on mine all day one day only to find out I just needed to open that screw a little bit and then it worked fine.

The bars on bag do hold the bagger but are also to stand machine up for maintenance. Surprised yours doesn’t have a battery! I had ordered a new carb on Amazon which works great. I’ve seen people use ultrasonic cleaners but with the gunk you had in bowl I’d have just bought a new one for $20. Very easy to service this machine - been using one for 8 years now.

A perfect example of a video of a guy who works over an hour on something and he has no idea what he's doing.

It's so loud because the bolts to the exhaust are loose and it's not going through the muffler

BEFORE you do ANYTHING with it, find the Serial plate decal on it, it will be on the frame, it will have the Model number Series on it ALWAYS use that for parts and work, I worked at the factory from 1972 till 2015 and one of the BIGGEST MISCONCEPTIONS is that they all are the same and you can swap any part from any Model & Series, and adjustments are the same, this is FALSE, if you watch ANY so called youtube expert on these mowers and they NEVER tell you WHAT MODEL or Series they are working on then be VERY leary about any further instructions they give.

If you really wanted to save money you could have just bought a carb kit on the Big A. It comes with the carburetor, spark plug, air filter, fuel filter. It’s between 25-30. No need for parts cleaner on new parts
