- Considered one of the most haunted places in the US, the Ohio State Reformatory in Mansfield, Ohio is an abandoned prison from the 1800s. First beginning as a minimum security 'reformatory', it quickly became a Maximum Security Prison leading to some questionable methods to reform prisoners. Today, thanks to the movie Shawshank Redemption, the prison remains as a attraction open to the public.

Loved the architecture of the building.
Yes, we’ve been there. It is creepy but the architecture is amazing. And it’s cool to see the movie locations. Remember, it gets quite hot in Ohio but there was no air conditioning. I cannot imagine staying in one of those tiny cells.

Thats one of my favorite movies. I had no idea the movie was set in Maine, but filmed in ohio! I understand why they chose to film there, its a pretty cool looking prison. Natalie is Laurences fact checker, funny. No spoiler alert needed, who has not seen Shawshank redemption.. Larry

This one kinda hits closer to home for me.. I’m actually from Canton Ohio and grew up some around the Mansfield area.. I’ve always heard stories about the reformatory in Mansfield… Haunted for sure… You’ve actually taught me more than I’ve ever known… Really great video guys… Loved it.!
