I live 7 miles north of Circleville in South Bloomfield OH. There is a Pumpkin Show every year in late October. They have the world's largest pumpkin pie at Libby's bakery and a biggest pumpkin contest! Not to mention every kind of food made with pumpkin imaginable! You should check it out sometime Jacob!
In Circleville the Pumpkin Show is in Circleville to be clear
Sorry it's Lindsey's bakery that has the world's biggest pumpkin pie
I live in Columbus and this year will be the first time in 10 years I'm going down for it. Used to go there a lot as a kid. Miss it very much. Life has a way of taking you away from the things you love to do. I wonder if you can still park at Ted Lewis and walk down?🎃🎃🎃🎃🎃🎃🎃
A few years back, I stayed in this prison over night during Halloween. I'm not sure of they still sell tickets for that but it's a good time 👍
they probably still do but they have them always sold out
😮scary
They still do. Just not very often
I belly laughed hard at the whispered, chaaaaaaaaapstiiiiiiick. I giggle at the rosebud everytime so this was a lovely change
Shawshank Redemption. Best movie of all time ❤
been there for a tour, very cool and a great movie, the book is not to bad either..
My husband and I took a tour too. It was awesome
The carpetbagger at his best, fantastic video,Shawshank Redemption is my favourite film of all time, you did it justice Jacob, thank you! ❤😊
They picked a perfect place for a haunt attraction
I think the giant wet sponge for execution was for electrical conductor because water is an electrical conductor
Welcome to Mansfield You’re in My neck of the Woods now, that Prison was still in use when I was little, along with the escape every so often.
Hello from Gatlinburg TN Smoky Mountains Mr Bagger...My late mom and i loved watching this together back in thr day❤❤❤
It will always be weird to me that Clancy Brown is the voice of Mr. Krabs in Spongebob. After seeing Shawshank it just puts my mind in a pretzel. Very versatile and talented person.
What!? I did not know that
you should see him in the movie highlander
This was the first prison that my uncle was incarcerated at in the 80s. When we visited a few years back I got him a shirt 😂
“Something about pumpkins.” (You said to say it!) 😁
I went there for their Halloween event probably 20 years ago. Still have the t shirt! Happy to see you’re in that area!
Nice video Jacob! I hope you are Healthy And Safe!
That tour was great! Good job I need to see the movie now.
Oh my God, you said shanks for the memories. You’re so funny Jacob 😅
The Ohio State reformatory has been on my bucket list of haunted places to investigate long before the movie came out. And Shawshank is the only, as far as I remember, story from Stephen King that has nothing supernatural in it. And since you wanted a comment about pumpkins, I will say that pumpkin pie is awesome, and I'm looking forward to having some.
There's "Stand By Me" based on his novella The Body which is good as well.
Thank you Jacob. That is the only movie of Stephen King that I like.
Loved the video. Stay safe ❤
Shank you for another wonderful adventure. 😊
Great stop. Have fun at the festival!
Great video Jacob that would be an awesome place for ghost hunt.
Keep him coming and safe travels my friend.
I actually auditioned to be one of the inmates for Air Force one. At the time they wouldn't give the name of the movie and said it was an Arnold Schwarzenegger flick. They were very specific on if I would be able to sing a song in Russian. I didn't land the gig.
Thank you Jacob for my post card. Love it. It made my day. I enjoy watching you everyday. Plus I watch old videos every night 🌙 Thanks for being you
Carpet bagger loves HUGS
pumpkins are awesome! lol You do a great job Jacob, love all your vids
What an interesting tour. I really liked the movie the Shawshank Redemption but haven't seen it in a while . Would like to watch it again .Those cells are really horrible compared to other prisons I have seen. Great tour Keep Safe ❤Keep Well❤
It's a really great tour, my husband and I toured a couple years ago. Oye guide was awesome
A very haunted prison!! I would work as a EMT in the Ambulance in and out of State Corrections Institutions at Greaterford Prison in Pennsylvania! The facility are basically nothing I was not afraid of the Prisoners I was afraid of the officers!
The Shawshank Redemption is such an AMAZING movie Jake. I just came back from a 14-day cruise to Canada (I was supposed to go to Greenland but got canceled by Hurricane Iieda).
Great video of the prison. It definitely makes me want to make a trip to visit. I need a Sparky t-shirt! I have enjoyed your excursions & find them helpful for places I may like to visit.
Definitely go! Take the guided tour. History meets Hollywood. It's worth it
Been there a few times. Its a great place. They have a haunted prison experience too. Fun.
Thank you Jacob for this video! It has been a few years since I have been here. Pretty scary place if you ask me. Lol I was terrified of those steps in the Prison. I thought someone was right behind me. They also have filmed several music videos there. Have a good weekend!
We called it "Castle Grayskull" when I stayed there. But I digress... Andy was correct when he said, "everybody's innocent here."
One of my favorite movies and one I can watch over and over.
The prison walls were torn down shortly after that movie was made to make room for a new prison. There is also a tour you can take around Mansfield and south of Mansfield to see other spots where the movie was filmed.
The rock fence and tree in “Buxton” are both gone too. Rock fence carried off by jerk fans that couldn’t leave it for the rest of us to enjoy and the tree was hit by lightning. 😢
Yes it is. I think the plan was to make some kind of souvenirs out of the tree but something happened and it isn't going to happen now. Everything else is still around though.
Good morning from the West, more specifically Denver, CO. ❤🎉😂
Say Hi to coach Prime! Go Buffaloes!
@@user-qw8qq2dz3w yay Buffs!!!
Circleville, OH is known for the Pumpkin Show, happening in about a month. It's a Pumpkin-centric fair/carnival.
The "tunnel" prop from the movie is in the basement, as well as where the inmates were hosed down, but because of the Halloween decor, you can't see it during this time...
Also, while we toured the cells, a guy freaked out in front of us because one of the cell doors closed, with no one else around....and they are not powered. He was convinced it was more paranormal activity.
PUMPKIN! PUMPKIN!! PUMPKIN!! Great water tower for Halloween and Fall. Thank you for help put us in the spirit of it all.
That was awesome, on my bucket list.
Hey Jacob I saw you today at The Mothman Festival! I was burning alive or I would’ve said hi! I snapped a quick pic of you as I was walking by and I was gonna share it with you! Wish I could’ve met you!
We were issued those "giant baby pins" to go with our laundry bags in the Navy. They were made of a white, mesh material and you could use the pin to keep the contents from falling out. I wonder if they leave that pumpkin paint scheme on that water tower year round.
You are so funny!!
Fun fact for ya, the tree next to the wall in Buckstin (guess that’s how you spell the town name). That tree got struck by lightening a year or so back and had to be cut down/removed. And Jake has a decent taste in music 😂.
The large diaper pins that you referred to in your video are actually laundry bag pins to identify inmates laundry
My father spent 6 years in the old Mansfield penitentiary on a 9 to 25 year prison bid I went there many times as a kid I still have pictures of it thanks for this awesome video.
We have been here several times. They have a themed race there in August and I’ve run it a few times. Lots of fun, but that place is super spooky!!! I could not walk in the area where the cells were.
That pumpkin water tower reminds me of living in San Pedro, CA, where the Philips 76 refinery always paints one of the huge round oil tanks with a jack o lantern face every year around this time.
I gotta say there is no Halloween without pumpkins and prison.
Thanks for bringing the prison to me, because I don't want to go to prison! Loved the movie and this video, Pumpkin!
Wow, this was really a great tour, thanks!
Something about pumpkins!
That’s a Detex clock you would go to different stations and turn the key. It was mainly used for insurance purposes as well as keeping track at different places in the prison we used to use those in the factories when I was doing security back in the 90s.
Um , this is my favorite ❤ Love that you sang YOU DONT EVEN CALL ME DARLING , DARLIN' ! YOU NEVER EVEN CALL ME BY MY NAME ! ❤❤
Hey Jacob,
Roll On CarpetBagger Roll On.
Safe Travels To And From!
I've also been there a couple times. Gotta love the look of it and the props.
The wood shop scenes were filmed in upper Sandusky.
I wonder where The Green Mile was filmed? Guess I can look it up 😂. I’m going to get my pumpkin today. 🎃
Dang. I wish you’d be at the mothman festival Sunday too!
If you look close there is blood splatter and glass damage effects applied to the window behind the wardens desk. Very interesting and subtle touch. The chapel in there also used to have a balcony all the way around. The height of the decks really is something like he mentions. There are some areas you can get to if you get the extended guided tour. Some catwalks which just peering in I could only imagine would feel like to cross. I believe you can also get into the towers and the prison yard.
I love carnivale I wish they would have done more seasons
Watching
We went to the Haunted Reformatory about 3 years ago for Halloween. And YES me and a friend both looked at a cell it was pitch black at the same time and both seen a leg move with a shoe it slightly moved behind the bars. It was watching us. It kind of glowed . But wow it was so creepy.
Enjoyed the video... I like to watch while carving pumpkins. 🎃
Ty Jacob for another great reason to check out road side attractions, rose bud
If ever a place could be haunted, this would be it.
I love seeing the road trip and all the things you seen on the way, it’s so calming and peaceful
We loved this video so much...just like we love pumpkins. It is a shame you were not back then during the summer of carousels because in that same town is Richland Carrousel Park.
😃 thanks for giving us self guide tour, always wanted to go !
Good morning Jacob 🌞 i have this movie on DVD now saw it back its days in the theater with my dad and oldest brother. Its good. Thanks for sharing this. Other vloggers have post this prison as they do also, your not only one lol but its ok. I like to see how it looks on your video. Thanks again for sharing.🤓📸👍
My friend and I was there in 2018 we took the tour I was really looking to be scared I wasn't
Cool video! 😎
Can't wait for the Mothman Festival coverage by you. 😊
That Pumpkin water tower reminds me of the Big Peach water tower in Gaffney, South Carolina. 👍
I'll have to watch this movie. So interesting that you can actually view real, present day prisoners here. Also - LOVE the pumpkin tower. I wonder if it's filled with pumpkin juice
I think Brother Justin is my favorite Clancy Brown role, though he has played lots of characters I love. He was awesome in Detroit: Become Human, too. Not a bad guy in that one!
I like pumpkins.
I haven't seen this movie but one of my favorite movie scores is Brooks Was Here. The architecture is gorgeous. Thanks for the awesome tour!😊
Jacob, do not sit in any creepy ghost chairs. A people or animal like a cat could get attached to you and they will ride home with you.
Back in Ohio! 2nd fav state for you yes?
Seems he spends a lot of time there!
Awesome video 📸👏 📸 thanks for sharing this with us 😊
Enjoyed replay thanks for sharing your channel 😊❤😊
Great job, Great video, Jacob. You make my day everyday!! This one gave me goosebumps!!😱😱Thank you for another fantastic masterpiece!! I’m a huge fan of yours!! ❤❤❤😊
Well done sir
Hey, my wife seen you earlier at the Mothman Festival. If you are staying around tonight let me know.
Rita Hayworth And The Shawshank Redemption is a short story in the book Different Seasons. The short story The Body is in the same book which later became Stand By Me on the big screen.
I watch it at least once a week! One of my fav movies!
Amazing tour!!! Thanks so much for this!
Loved the pumpkin water tower. ❤😊

We went a few years back, well worth the visit.
Loved seeing this museum great video Jacob loved the theme park one at Cedar Point so funny the animatronics and people in costumes.
Circleville is home to the Pumpkin Show!
I love your videos Jacob Shawshank is a good movie
Hi Jacob from West Virginia 👋 I have kin folks live in Mansfield Ohio. Shawshank Redemption Movie is a good movie. There's history places in West Virginia.
My husband and I were in WV ( we live in Michigan) in July for our honeymoon.
THAT IS AWESOME!
That chair in the empty room is said to move on it's own. Not sure if it's the same one from when I was there but would be cool to know that we've sat in the same chair.
Good morning
