    Absolutely agree with terra cotta pots..actually for most of my plants..I'm one who has overwatered and terra cotta helps with that too. I don't really like grow lights, so my regular LED household lights are on most of the day. I like your care tips and suggest a little water color paint brush would probably help dust the plants since some like burros tail, etc. will fall apart so easily if handled. I guess we all have ideas and can pick and choose what works for us. Thank you for your videos and I hope this new year will be a good one for you and your family.. God bless you and yours from New Jersey.

      See....this is why I love this community and forum. I never even thought to use a water colour paint brush for cleaning the leaves. So simple and genius! Thanks for that Diane.

    Great information. I’m new to the succulent world. I just love them. The terra cotta pot seems really the best vessel for them. Thanks and stay well.

      Thanks Faith. I use terracotta for most of my houseplants due to their ability to dry out quicker. I did not use or recommend these pots for something like a calathea that require that constant moist soil.
      Now you are well on your way to buying tons of succulents....it is very similar to the "hoya hole". Once you start, you can't stop hahaha

    I started off with mostly succulents, and they are lovely but for the most part I don't have any anymore. A few different jade plants and maybe one other. I struggled with giving succulents enough light, then they would get so stretched out, and I'd chop and prop, which always felt like starting over.

      That is a tough one. I also over watered when I started out. It is all a learning process.

      I think these are so important. Over watering is always the succulent killer, but definitely help to limit that. Good luck Diana!!!

    hi, I have the plant that you pointed at the time" 5:30". The stem of my plant is very soft and when I squeeze it, water comes out. How can I save the plant? well, my mom cut the top part of the plant, because the bottom is dying.

    • @EverythingPlants
      @EverythingPlants  3 роки тому

      Yes. Cut it back to only a healthy section then let it callous over for a couple days then stick it back into soil to root.

    Every time I throughly water my succulents, the soil feels completely dry three days later, almost dusty. Most are in plastic or ceramic pots with drainage holes and in commercial cactus soil. What is happening and should I wait several weeks anyway?

    • @EverythingPlants
      @EverythingPlants  3 роки тому +1

      The plant might need to be repotted into a larger pot. It sounds like it is soaking up that water too fast.
