Need more videos out there. You can look up dw vids all day but mapex is lacking UA-cam exposure. Also I seen this same vid a couple weeks ago not sure why it's reposted today. I love my mapex saturn iv btw
2 things sell drum sets: Name and price. If you go to NAMM or any other trade show and talk to the other drummers about their gear, the two answers you’ll always get are, "I could finally afford to buy a…” *insert brand name here* or "I picked this up a few years ago and I does everything I need. (which really just means "I can't afford *insert brand name here*.)" I would say that 75% of newer kits I see are Ludwig and Tama. Other than that it’s all Exports and CB700s. Again, name and price. Unfortunately Mapex doesn’t fall into either of those categories. There aren’t a million old Mapex kits around that can be had for nothing (i.e. Pearl Exports) and nobody saves up their money to buy a Mapex. So what you end up with are people like me who played one and was impressed enough by the sound to buy it, or people who really like Lamb of God (I’m not joking, it’s a thing) because their drummer plays and is endorsed by them. Which in the drum world is a pretty small market. So my guess is that Mapex has a plan to try and be "innovative" to gain market share. It may work, it may not, but you have to give them credit for trying. They really do make a great drum, so it’s not like they are putting lipstick on a pig. They just need more people to play them, and maybe by being creative they can do that.
Brandon White exactly! i saw jeff in concert a couple days ago and saw he was using this kit. it sounds great. i think the switch must be recent though
I would too say alot of good things about this drums, if i would get them for free... "i mean, right out of the box, these drums sounded perfect, i cant believe how good these drums are......."
