- On this day we make our way to the Binh Tay Market in Saigon, Vietnam where they had tons of shopping and some fun Vietnamese snacks, drinks and more. Chase found a new treasure that he plans to wear all around the country. It wouldn’t by be a proper video without indulging in some food so we had to try the most popular Vietnamese dessert and obviously end with a coffee!

Loved the video. I cannot wait to go Vietnam next month. The first drink you had, the yellow thing is mung bean paste. I am glad you liked it. The 2nd drink is a herbal artichoke grass jelly with basil seed. The basil seed is very similar to chia seeds. Finally the dehydrated fruits and veggies. I love those. I get them here in the states and they are imported from Vietnam. The beets and okras are my favorite. Thank for sharing your adventure with us. Chase is always so positive with his laughs and Shelby is adventurous and optimistic with the food. Keep up with the amazing contents.
So the black drink is like a grass jelly drink with chia seeds. Super refreshing.
Shelbs is definitely the live to eat type of person and i love it
I can’t deny it😂
Love your work! That dessert looks awesome. Chase, love the hat!!!!!
Thank you so much! ☺️ the hat came in great use for the hot weather!
Wow wow it was amazing video guys ❤I really enjoyed it 😀 keep it up guys ❤❤❤❤
Thank you so much 😀
Amazing Saigon vlog 😊😊 beautiful city with friendly locals
Love it!
Those pink seed things are from the pomegranate fruit
That's my favorite too. The green one is cook with pandan leaves ( lá dứa ) and coconut is ( dừa ) 😀 the words are the same except the symbol on top
14:25 this drink made by herbs and they added seaweed. Love you guys
It was refreshing!! Thank you 🥰🥰
When you ask if “Chè” has coconut in it, the lady thought you ask for “dứa”, not “dừa” (which means coconut), that’s why she points at the green jelly because that jelly was made from a kind of leaf called “dứa” 🤣 but most of Chè in Vietnam have coconut cream in them, so don’t worry 😂
Yes, the lady thought you meant "dứa", which is pandan, a green leaf that gives a flavour and fragrance similar to vanilla, but with a slightly different taste. I agree with @kimqui9083 that they usually have coconut milk/cream in "chè".
The dark drink Chase bought looks like Chè Sâm Bổ Lượng, which is a healthy and refreshing dessert drink. Usually, but not always, comes with seaweed, barley, lotus seeds, and a variety of dried fruits, such as jujubes, gogi berries, and longan.
Also the red jelly looking thing with the white in the centre is water chestnut that's been immersed in a jelly, then they cut it up to mimic pomegranate seeds. This is what they call it hạt lựu, meaning pomegranate seed.
I am vietnamese and i live in HCM city . I saw everywhere u go and i love it , so lovely
It’s a beautiful city! So glad you enjoyed 😍
@@ChaseandShelbs yeah . Thanks you and hope to see more your new vlogs
I wish we were in Vietnam! Next year! We have watched your channel for a few years, faithfully mostly. I had an idea for content…it might be dumb. I would love if you guys attended a cooking class now and again. It would be fun to watch and it would be great to learn a few things.
That’s awesome! So glad you guys get to go next year. Wow thank you 🥹❤️
We haven’t yet done a cooking class in Vietnam. Maybe we will have to try one out in the future. Not a dumb idea at all! ☺️
I like the way they share food each others. 😂😂😂😂
That hat looks like it was made for you, Chase. You wear it well.
That Che is delicious, the yellow stuff is beans
We love it! Anything with coconut milk and jellies 😍

Hey Chase and Shelbs! We are also from Canada but currently in Ho Chi Minh! Would be so cool if we bump into you guys! ❤
Aw that’s so amazing and would have been cool, sadly we are no longer there. ❤️
@@ChaseandShelbs Oh no way! 😢 we will be leaving here on the 25th going to Bangkok, Krabi and Koh Samui hopefully we will bump into you guys there if you guys are in Thailand! Cheers 🍻 🥰
The dried mix fruits is all abt Guava, cucumber, carrot, Jack fruit, banana, sweet potato, some they put string beans, eggplant among....
They're actually not dried. They're fried.
@@sinceritysf They are not fried ( no trace of oil ) but dried in oven .
Welcome back to Vietnam ❤❤
Thank you so much ❤️❤️
seems you guys have really enjoyed a tour around BinhTay market.
We sure did!!
I like the first hat Shelbs tried on
It was cute hey! P
Those dried fruits you can buy them at an Asian store back in Canada
Love u guys ❤ from Texas.😊
🥰🥰
the 10k VND is ching bo leung (sâm bổ lượng) which original from HongKong
Great video
Everyone explained most of everything, I just want to add.....The first desert with the red jelly, that water chestnut coated with coloured flour.....the second drink is the Chinese desert-drink , the black strings are seaweed, this drink is meant to cool down the body, especially if you ate greasy food and had pimples.
Most places shut down during noon from 12pm to 2pm for siesta, avoiding the stream heat, so the food area probably went to sleep LOL
You guys look good in anything 😊
That’s so sweet! 🥹 thank you!!
that market is fully selling shirts bag and hat, hat, and lot of hats😮
You should drink coffee slowly, don't drink it too fast or you'll get drunk! Defrosting slowly is delicious
Thom Ngon mean Flavorful and Tasty
Could you try Com Tam in Saigon?
Hope you enjoy Vietnam
Thank you ❤️
Hey guys, I think you should know that the letter d in Vietnamese is pronounced as a "y" like in "yoyo". It's only pronounced like a normal English d when you see it written with a line across the top that looks like this > đ. This is so you're not confused why locals might not understand what you mean if you're trying to say coconut in the future. 😊
Thank you so much. I didn’t understand why people weren’t understanding me oops 😂I actually learned this towards the end of our Vietnam trip!
@@ChaseandShelbs That's great, the more you know!
My favorite dessert at 9:30 of the video.
Chè phụ nữ rất thích nó😂
Actually, the grass jelly drink got Logan in it. The ingredients are brown sugar water, Logan, grass jelly. Dried Logan gives it an earthy favor. No chia in it. Logan is nhãn. Very sweet and earthy when they dried it out.
Thanks for sharing! It was unique for sure haha
seaweed also i believe
I think you meant “longan” ? The fruit longan right?
Yes. Sorry about that. Auto spelling took over and I didn't proof read
Mình tới những nhà hàng buffet hải sản lớn ở sài gòn thưởng thức đi ạ

❤your hat Indiana Jones
Dried jackfruit if you like, you can buy V..ina..mit Brand(mit say Vi...na..mi..t). It's delicous and crunchy!
It’s the best 😍
To say how much you say bow (like bow down) and yew ( y-eww). Bow yew
I had a drink like this once in Cambodia and I had the biggest diarreah of my life 😅 hopefully that ended differently for you!
Omg noooo! We got bad food poisoning in Cambodia too.. from meat though 💀 we haven’t got it from one of these desserts yet luckily haha
Coconut “dua” is not pronounced with a d sound but a y sound like yua. But that dessert looks amazing and i agree, i don’t like the beans either 😂
Saying delicious in Vietnamese is “ngon qua”
I figured this out way later!! I was so confused when people wouldn’t understand me 😂
Mình thuê xe máy công nghệ như vinfast hoặc grab di chuyển ở khoảng cách xa cho đỡ đi bộ mỏi chân ạ
❤❤❤
The price at that Binh Tay market is much more cheaper than the Bên Thanh tourist market. Only tourists they know not any markets but Bên Thanh market. The locals ppl they should go to others Market instead of the Ben Thanh.
Sg fan
The coconut dessert is yummy but I am afraid it will ruin my stomach 😆
So far so good for us!! You never know though haha
👍🔥
Eating very Cheap and Good
Lotus seeds not beans 😂
Oops hehe
Kain fifi
lol just tell them
chet roi =x
that drink is che sam bo luong
it’s really hearty
Không ngon is NO GOOD - Ngon is Good
Please don't wear the communist flag outside of vietnam. Many refugees who survived the war would be very sad and angry seeing the flag.
@4:17...wear that hat in VN is ok..but don't ever wear that hat when ur back in the states and standing next to a VN person---you might GKTFO,
Love you guys
❤️ youuuuu!
