OMG Chris, your Mandarin pronunciation sounds perfect. I don't speak or understand Vietnamese, but hearing your Mandarin, I'm sure it's very good too. You really have mastered tonal languages which are not easy for people of non tonal languages. I really enjoy all the videos of you and Max. You two are truly amazing and good people. ❤

12:38 When you asked these two ladies what language they speak at home, her answer is Teochew, not Cantonese as in subtitle.
Teochew is another Chinese dialect but it’s not commonly spoken compared to Cantonese. That’s probably why when speaking of Chinese in Chợ Lớn, people always think of Cantonese 😂😂😂

Absolutely love all of your videos! All the things you’ve tried made my mouth waters. Your northern Vietnamese is amazing, so is your Mandarin. FYI - when you asked the 2 ladies what language they use to speak with each other, they said “tiếng tiều.” Which isn’t Mandarin or Cantonese. It’s actually my family dialect, Teochew. Also in the Canton region of China.

Then 1 year later in 2021 i choosed to learn German at the University, until now i'm pretty proficient in German, and learning myself a little bit of Italian, with a hope to be able to learn Dutch again someday.
