  • Have you tried lifting your BYD Seal car wipers and realised the bonnet is in the way? See how to set the BYD Seal wipers to service mode in this video.
    Interestingly the USB-C port has a higher power fast charging output compared to the USB-A port underneath the dash. I tested it using my Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra phone.

    I know some third party apps can make byd has sentry mode and supercar sound now in China. That's the one of the reason I bought this car. It creates more possible in future.😊😊

    I ended up using a 15W magsafe wireless charger to the right of the instrument panel and directly facing me. That way I can more easily see the screen and it gets charged faster than the built in one (the wireless charger is plugged to the USB-C port through a hidden cable).

    You don't need to test the power of the rear USB-C port, it tells you what it is in the Seal user manual. It's a USB-C PD (power delivery) port capable of up to 60 W. That's more power than any phone could use, and plenty for most laptops.

    Please test the airconditioning in avery hot day after parking it in the sun to see how effective it is especially with that glass roof. Wireless charging is very slow. Especially on iPhones. Only fast on Huawei but you'd need the Huawei fast wireless charger. Thanks!

      Hi there, thanks for watching all my videos. The glass roof blocks out a lot of heat is what I can say. There are hot days I didn't put on the sunshade, driving feels normal and comfortable. Throughout last 2.5 months of me driving in Aussie hot summer days, I only put sunshade on for like 3 to 5 times. Having said that, I would not park the car in the sun without the sunshade, not recommended. I seldom park out in the sun anyway. There were once I was charging outdoor in the sun on a 34 degrees day for about 1.5 hours, with sunshade on. I turn on air-con 10 minutes before I head back to the Seal. It's feel cool, not cold, but cool when I get in.
      Also the sunshade is pretty easy to put on the remove and fold.
      If this comment gets lots traffic and lots of likes, I'll see if I can make a video this topic, but no promise.

      Today is 39-40c day in Penrith, and didn't need to put the shade, and the kids in the back and myself were comfortable in 21c setting. The only comment is it consumes the power much faster on such hot days, but ludicrousfeed tested this and the sun shades don't make to much of a difference in the case of the seal

      @@SkyPerspective thank you so very much for the info. I'm still split on the Seal and the Seal U. I know that practically the Seal U will be the best fit for me as its a high SUV with ground clearance but it's not yet available and it's not as luxurious and videos I've seen with left hand drive models all have the gaping hole in the bonnet like the Atto 3. I'm undecided. But your videos and responses help a lot as apart from May to August it's pretty warm in my part of the world for most of the year. Today it's 36°C.

      @@aimanjajo9951 thank you for your response. This is very helpful. Not too worried about higher power consumption, just this glass roof and the heat it produces as I know from tesla people have had to tint their glass to reduce heat. So higher consumption isn't too much of an issue as I won't be doing road trips. My car will mostly be used around town and trips will most likely be less than 200km a day. Electricity costs between $0.08 and $0.14 per kW so going electric is a steal for me. Ludicrous Feedd is also a good source of info. There's lots I learn on this channel that I don't get on Ludicrous Feed and vise versa. Thanks again!

      @@sithabelamandlawenkosiwodu6298 Are you in the EU or Australia? REason I ask is that they're completely different cars with the Aussie one being a plug in hybrid which has the unfortunate title of most complained about car in China, and the European one is a pure EV which is better. Just keep in mind that both versions of the Seal U are based on the petrol car which means it's not as good an EV as the Seal sedan. If the Sea Lion 07 or Song L are coming to your country, they are much better BYD SUVs

    Hi!
    You make great videos that are helpful too!
    I turned off both of my Seal because cell phones get very hot while charging!
    Another question, how did you install the app? Did you immediately get the QR code on the screen and scan it?
    Kind regards from Austria!

    Did the low ground clearance gets in the way while driving?

    • @SkyPerspective
      @SkyPerspective  4 місяці тому +1

      Given I am someone who has always been driving a sedan, ground clearance is not a issue for me. BYD Seal has a higher ground clearance compared to my previous car Honda Civic RS. I had to drive up the kerb on to my driveway everyday, no issue at all. When parking, I turn on 360 camera to make sure I don't hit any bumps or pillars. The ground clearance of the BYD Seal is about 120cm in case you are interested.

    For thouse with wireless charging issues try without the case, either it got issues with cases or pehaps any magsafe accesory

    • @SkyPerspective
      @SkyPerspective  4 місяці тому +1

      Wireless charging needs good alignment of the coil center to be efficient. If misaligned and inefficient, there will be lots of heat. Yes you are right, metal accessories like magsafe case impedes the wireless charging.

    Good videos, I just bought a byd seal. Do you know how to install third party app? I try a lot but still can't unlock the adb?

    • @SkyPerspective
      @SkyPerspective  4 місяці тому +2

      I don't think BYD support us doing that, but there are videos on how to do it for example this one: ua-cam.com/video/guYAMEnsmeY/v-deo.htmlsi=lQ1dSUzxSRxvPIh9
      For myself, I don't think I want to install third party apps because that's the car's operating system controlling safety systems like ICC, ACC and ADAS. Instead I plan to get an external device like this to load all my third party apps through Android Auto and can watch UA-cam and Netflix: www.ebay.com.au/itm/166399231368
      this way, BYD service center won't get to question me or deny future warranty claims. Thoughts?

    • @Clove_Parma
      @Clove_Parma 4 місяці тому +1

      If you’re trying to do that, you can’t on the newest software. Don’t downgrade the software though, the safety systems are much worse on the old software

    • @SkyPerspective
      @SkyPerspective  4 місяці тому +1

      Yes I have heard the newer software version is better but doesn't allow third party apps loading anymore. I am still on old version because I am one of the early ones getting my Seal last year, and OTA update is just ignoring me.

    • @Andydwyer99
      @Andydwyer99 4 місяці тому +1

      Here in Thailand the normal practice is to downgrade to a previous version, load apps you want ( UA-cam, Google Maps, etc ) and then upgrade to the latest version. I had my Seal done and it works flawlessly but you do need someone who knows what they are doing, way over my head .

    • @SkyPerspective
      @SkyPerspective  4 місяці тому

    The wattage ratings for USB A and USB C are different. From memory USB A cannot do more than 10W. Thats the USB A standard, not specific to the car. But USB C has higher outputs by design, starting from 15W. So in short, I think its not the car, its the USB standard.
