I just figured this out today :). Get yourself a garage door opener
For the sake of security, I am still wary of having garage and doors accessible via the internet. Cyber attacks are getting more sophisticated. Got to protect ourselves as we digitise our lives.
@@SkyPerspective yep that's true, although generally speaking those interested in attacking you via cyber attacks are different from those interested in robbing your place, in any case my one give me a notice and all sorts of bells and whistles go off on my phone when the garage door opens and I'm not there
Nice! What brand of garage door opener are you using? Is their app good?
@@SkyPerspective kogan and there services are always up, and I like them because they work with Google
Love your videos with The BYD SEAL! keep it up!
I seldom get feedback like these. Thanks for letting me know. Makes my effort worthwhile. I'm glad you are enjoying my video.
Great videos. Easy to follow along and always informative. Thank you for your efforts.
Got the a carlinkit android box and it works great on the Seal infotainment screen. I set it up using a secondary gmail account though, since one thing that concerns me is the fact that those devices don't lock. So if I leave the car in a valet, they could theoretically easily access all my apps and data. I wish there was a setting to lock the device.
I'm glad to know it works. Thanks for sharing. Mine is still on its way. Yes that's what I plan to do as well, to use a separate Gmail account. For valet or car wash crew, we can just unplug the carlinkit. I am planning to separate the account because I don't know how carlinkit will be handling my private details. Might be inconvenient, but worth it for cyber protection.
Does anyone know if Siri will activate if you press and hold the voice button if you have CarPlay?
Yeah and you can broadcast home too
Broadcast home as in from car ask Google Assistant to broadcast a message at home using Google home?
@@SkyPerspective yes 😊 very useful feature I find, can say you're nearly home without having to call
@@markdillon9588 Thanks for sharing this useful feature. I will give that a try when I am driving home today.
By the way in case anyone else is reading this, the commands to broadcast messages are:
"Broadcast [message]."
"Broadcast to [room name] [message]."
"Broadcast to [device name] [message]."
"Shout [message]."
"Tell everyone [message]."
"Announce [message]."
